Sweet Valentine using Sherri Baldy's Img 5281

It's that Special time of year when our thoughts
turn to our loved ones and those that are near and dear to our hearts.  Love comes in may forms and I like to express my feelings to family with my cards.
Sherri Baldy makes it so easy to choose one of her digital images to use but, it also is a curse!!  Because there are so MANY to pick from in her Bestie Shop.  This cutie is Img 5281 from the Sweet Lil' Things collection.  Just makes me feel like Spring is right around the corner!  I used the same beige distressed polka dot paper on the angled corner as in the inside of the card.  Metal butterfly has a Baker's Twine bow on the top.  There's an Echo Park sentiment block on the inside greeting.
Be sure and check out The Besties Shop for Your Valentine image-she has so many!

It's Batter Up! at Come and Get It Challenge- Theme is use 2 different Embellishments!

Well I'm sure we've all spent time at the ball diamonds this summer with our kids so I find that this set of 4 boys playing at the summer sports is perfect for the Challenge at Come and Get It!  The Twist on this Challenge is to use 2 different embellishments--Mine are Baker's Twine and a Bat/glove charm. Our Sponsor for this Challenge is Pickled Potpouri and my image is called the Boys of Summer
I was so happy that I'd saved this baseball stitched paper for just the right card!  Makes a great background for this type of card.  This is on a 4.75" sq. card so I matted the design paper with red cardstock as well as the copic colored image.  You can see the r&w twine and then the waxed cord bow holding the charm.
On the inside I used a brightly colored paper with baseball caps.  This is unusual for me, but I left no sentiment on the inside.  That way I could use it as a Birthday card, or even a Thinking of You card.
Be sure and join us in our Challenge and have a chance to get a prize from our Sponsor!

MIXED MEDIA Time at Crafting When We Can Challenge! Our Wonderful Sponsor is Oddball Art!

Don't we all need Birthday cards?  That's why it's a perfect Challenge on Crafting When We Can where we're being sponsored by Oddball Art Company this week!  We are all working with MIXED MEDIA this challenge and I'm using Birthday Jaz.
After using copic markers on her, I used Glossy Accents on her glasses for that shiny effect.  Added a mat, raised the image with foam dots that straddled the purple and white  Baker's Twine that criss-crossed the card.  Thought it would bring out he beautiful lavender sentiments on the design paper.  A trio of purple paper flowers in the corner was a great accent I think!  On the inside liner, I used both of the dp's and then used a lavender accent die cut for the Birthday Sentiment.  We can't wait to see your wonderful entries in our Challenge!!  Come out and play and hopefully win some prizes!

Color It, Create It, Show It Off Challenge is ALWAYS Anything Goes!

This is a pleasant reminder that over at Color It, Create It, Show it Off we've still got our Challenge going on here and are just waiting for your entry!
We invite you all to play along with us.  There is a 3 entry limit and our challenge is Always Anything Goes.  It runs from the 1st of the month until the 29th of the month and the winners are announced on the last day of that month.
This card features an image of Sherri Baldy's known as Img 920 and can be found in Sherri's Shop here.  I LOVE  the soft colors I used on her-to me she always seemed to be ready to sit or lean up against a wall or box, something like that.  So, I created with Copics a stone wall.  Used a beautiful blue and brown paisley print paper and accented it with some blue & white baker's twine, tied with a silver dragonfly charm.

Perfect for the Friendship card! On the inside liner, I combined a fishtail banner with a stamped sentiment on it against the paisley backdrop.  Wouldn't you just love to get this in the mail?
Be sure and join us for some fun and prizes on our Challenge page!  Can't wait to see what you come up with at Color it, Create it, Show it Off

Rick St. Dennis is Sponsoring us at Outlawz--Monday-Greetings

This week at the Outlawz group, Monday-Greetings, they are thrilled to be sponsored by Rick St. Dennis! His theme for us is/was Father's Day or Masculine.  I'm sure you all know his work and great designs-I'm using Cats 2 Martini and making a card for a friend.  Check out the Outlawz site and you will find that they frequently have outstanding sponsors-it is well worth your time to join in the fun!  Each challenge lasts for a week-this month there are 5 opportunities to win!  I used a reddish brown polka-dot paper to mat the image, wrapped the image with b&w baker's twine, a sticker "Smile", and used pop-dots to lift it up off the b&w pin-striped paper.  The inside is finished off with a sticker that says Friends to the End.  Can't wait to see what you come up with for this challenge!

Father's Day Challenge at 2 CuteInk

Such a cute card for a Great Father's Day card from 2 CuteInk--called Alligator Hugs!  These images are so easy to color up so that you can get your cards done for that last minute "need"!
After coloring with Copics, I mounted it to black cardstock and then wrapped the mat with baker's twine.  Then I added a silver heart that is stamped with "Love".  The way this image presented itself, the sentiment just came to me and I think it's perfect!
This "paper" I used is some I've held on to for years!  It reminds you more of a fabric with a weave on the back but it cuts and responds like paper.  It even has a shiny finish on top of the texture.
This will be the last challenge we have at 2 CuteInk for the rest of the summer as the artist is taking a family break.  However, the DT will be posting various images throughout that time.  So come and join us and let us see your project!

Join in the Monday-Greeting Group Challenge at Outlawz! Creative Bug is Sponsoring us!

What a treat to be asked to be a Guest Designer over at Outlawz for the whole month!  The Monday-Greeting Group asked me to share in their posts and I was thrilled to do it.  This week's theme is Sporty (any sport applies) and they are being sponsored by Creative Bug. As you can see, this image is called Tabyna Turtle...So I had to expand on the RACE (that's Sporty, right?) between the Tortoise (turtle) and the Hare...  Isn't she a cutie?
I used some creative design paper from AdorniT that is double-sided.  I had this scrap that I was playing with and before you know it, I was turning it into an EASEL Card!
I colored the image with copics, computer generated the sentiment, added a pewter charm with baker's twine...another sentiment with foam dots raises the inside sentiment up so that it catches the bent front flap.  I added an embellishment that looks like an award ribbon with a metal accent and some colored wood flowers.  I was thinking that the inside paper with it's chevrons looks like movement and racing lanes on a track.  Well, you might be running kind-of funny!
I hope you will join in this weekly challenge and post your creation for all to see!  You'll get great exposure and a chance to win some prizes.  I look forward to seeing you next Monday, June 8th!

Scrapper's Delights~Anything Goes~Through the Purple Haze=GREAT CHALLENGE This week!!!

I'm so DELIGHTED to be showcasing my third Team entry for the DT at Through the Purple Haze.  They have awesome sponsors and this week it is "Anything Goes" and you know how we ALL love that!  They are being sponsored by Scrapper's Delights and I'm using one of their FREEBIES!  See what you could be using??
I admit this is a step out of my Comfort Zone because I've never tried this wild hair coloring that's all the rave right now!  BUT, I've decided I think it's a lot of fun!  I was inspired by the sample they showed at Scrapper's Delights.  To give her a "base", I added some great grass paper from my stash as well as some "cloud" paper.  It's my fav!  I used foam dots under the image for dimension-I knew that the balloon strings would get lost in my "fancy cut" on the image so I used blur & white baker's twine, tied around the end and looped back through the backside of the image.  The inside has 2 panels of coordinating blue & rose strips with a sentiment for Birthday's.  The circle sentiment is from the internet and is such fun-I love swirly font!
I'd Love to enter this in the Following Challenges:
