Hey Everybody!!!!  We have a Monthly Challenge going on at All Dressed Up that will end on April 14th and there are several chances to win digital images .

The one I used here is called Flower Dreams  and by doing lots of fancy cutting, I surrounded her in many Spring Flowers, and added several water drops-pearl accents-and rhinestones.  The inside is just as pretty!
We would like to see everyone's creations - we can't wait to be inspired!

A Final Farewell to Southern Girls Challenge-Thanks for the memories

Several years ago, I was thrilled to be on the Southern Girls Design Team.  They were based in New Zealand and Australia and mostly had teamies from those countries.  So, imagine my surprise when I was asked to join them!  And it was a great friendship and experience for me.
I was saddened to hear recently that they will be calling an end to the group now, years later, but are having a Great Get-together for one last time with as many DT members as they can locate.  We were all asked to submit one of our favorite projects for SGC and this one, using an image called Emerald Fairies, was my submission.
I had fun putting her on a triple step card base!  It's amazing to see how I've grown artistically since that time and it was from DT's taking a chance on me and letting me get more and more experience with them that made that happen.

So Lou and Tracey, I wish you both all the best going forward.  I'm sure no matter what you will be doing, it will be a success and will fill you both with Blessings.  Thank you again for believing in a gal from "Southern" Illinois long ago and for giving me a chance!  You were the Best and I wish you well.

Spring is right around the corner-Time for flowers and Butterflys

This Image called Little Butterfly Girl is one of 4 new releases from the All Dressed Up Digital Design group.  I like to make the image the focal point, surrounded by beautiful Spring Design papers.  Makes so excited to be almost done with Winter!
I edged the finished image with a Tim Holtz Distressed Ink called Tattered Rose-it really picks up the pinks in the papers (the black showing is only the background cardstock I used for a neutral background).  On the inside, I used a bright yellow dotted paper with a cardstock sentiment card.  I accented it with some pink epoxy dots.
Many of the Gals on this Design Team are based in the UK.  Our resident artist, Wendy, has been working hard to bring us a fabulous selection of new release images this month. As ever, she has not forgotten that Mother's Day (Mothering Sunday) is celebrated in the UK on 31st March and there are some of these new designs will be perfect for this occasion. All these beauties are available in her Etsy store.
There's a current challenge going on at this location and we'd love to see your creations!!

Christmas Fairy Ellie Time over at Paper Nest Dolls

Using a New Release from August over at Paper Nest Dolls called "Christmas Fairy Ellie" , I'm asking that you all join in our monthly challenge!  You too could win a prize from the extensive digital library that our resident artist, Christine, brings to us each month!
I haven't made a 5x7 card in a long time but I didn't want to make her smaller-she's so gorgeous I wanted to show her all off.  I usually use card blanks for my base, but this time it was a shimmery cardstock for the base.  Picturing a golden angel, I used plum for an accent color. The plum berries have a "frost" of clear Wink of Stella" as does her wings.  after coloring her coat and dress ruffle, I used some gold WOS for that highlight and for the bells on her toes.  I also added some "fur" around her coat collar and edges by using some white flower soft.  The snowfall she is standing in is flower soft but I added some Shaved Ice to it from Frantage/Stampendous.  Hope the mini fringe I put on the side looks like snowballs!  On the inside, I used the Ornament Background paper along with a KKS Christmas stamp.  I'm so happy that designers are all putting out their Christmas goodies-helps a working gal get her cards done early!
Please come and participate in our Challenge and get inspired like we all do when we see your creations!  Come back real soon!

Using a Christmas image over at the All Dressed UP Challenge Post-come on over!

I'm having so much fun making up some Christmas cards with all the wonderful digital images over at All Dressed Up!  The one I'm using for this card is called Happy Christmas Little Star.  She looks so festive with green "velvet" dress, red shoes and wings with a Wink of Stella in clear sparkle.  After using a great paper with evergreen wreaths, I used a red sheer bow and gold glittered sprigs accents and 2 deep red faceted gems in the corner.  On the inside, I used a paper printed with a Christmas song and a heavy cardstock printed sentiment for the Holidays.
Our Challenge for the month is ready and waiting for your creation and we are waiting to get inspired by you!  Thanks for stopping by!

DIVA Birthday Challenge at Color It Create It Show It Off-**2** ways to win now!

Welcome back everyone. This month things at Color it Create it Show it off are changing slightly.
We are now going to have themes with our challenges, if you enter with the theme you will have extra chance to win.
Our Challenge this month is:
DIVA BIRTHDAY-Option Anything Goes!

I've chosen to use the image 978 from Sherri Baldy's fantastic shop.  I love Big Eyed images so this is the perfect shop for me!  I had fun creating this Fairy like creature using some of my favorite color combinations-green and purple!  I also used Diamond Stickles on her wings and added a few touches of bling with the purple flower embellishments.  The sentiment is from a stamp from my stash by KKS. A very whimsical Summer- like card for that friend's Birthday!
The Winner of the Challenge will get to pick from any of these Images:  We've now got a special way for EVERYONE to have a better chance at winning=separate Linky options.  One for those colorists that are so plentiful out there with many talents and a completely separate one for the many Design Team members of Sherri's that are giving this image a try.  So let's see you beautiful entries and inspire us all!

Sami Stamps is Sponsoring Come and Get It Challenge. Theme is Love is In The Air!

What a very clever image of love this is from Sami Stamps called Happy Heart Fairy found here.  We sure do have great sponsors over at Come and Get It and you can enter our latest Challenge with the theme of "Love is in the Air".
This horizontal beauty was such a fun, whimsical image and so quick to color and shade to put on a project--maybe that's because I knew exactly the paper I had on hand that would be perfect for her!  As you can see I Love the combination of pink and black!! After coloring her. I edged the image in black, mounted the sentiment from my stash with a hot pink cardstock and added a black faceted flourish spray.  On the inside liner, I wanted to see more of the b&w heart paper so that was the background.  Using the P&B print as a mat, I used another stamped sentiment-this is so versatile in that it could be an Anniversary card, a Valentine's Day card, even a Birthday card.
Come on over to Come and Get It Challenges and get an opportunity to wish a great prize from Sami Stamps!   We can't wait to see your great creation!

Making a Christmas Ornament from a Lemon Shortbread image-at the Come And Get It Challenge!

Tonights' Come And Get It entry is so unusual for me-instead of a card, our task was to create "anything but" a card.  With this being the Christmas season, I took this adorable image "Winter Fairy" from Lemon Shortbread and created an Ornament for our tree.
Because she was colored on cardstock with Copics, she was a little fragile to survive through the years.  So I fancy cut the original layer out and then mounted her to some heavier white pearlized cardstock and trimmed it out also.  Used some narrow baby blue satin ribbon, made a bow for the top of the hanger loop, and then stuck a sticky dot down to hold the ribbon ends and covered that with an oval of the same cardstock to "finish" it.  I used crystal Stickles on the bottom "slip" and also on her wings.
Be watching on the 18th for another creation-that one WILL be a card and then on to the New Year full of new challenges and images.  We can't wait to see you then!

"Same But Different" for the My Besties UK Design Team--Hope you are inspired!

It's half-way through the month and, at My Besties UK, we like to have an event called "Same But Different" on the 15th.  Each of the DT members take the same image and put our own Flair on it!  This month's image is called Hollyhock Fairy and she's a cutie!  You can find her on the My Besties Shop here.
After coloring her with copics, I added Diamond Dust Stickles to her wings and Diamond Glaze to her gorgeous brown eyes so that they would look wet.  She is double matted, with a heavy lace accent on the side.  I used a double sided paper that had the whitewashed on one side and the terracotta colored patterned paper on the other.  The bonus is that on the edge of the 12 x 12 paper, as many companies are doing now, there was a sentiment on the very edge in Kraft color.  As you can see I used it on the front along with some flat based pearls. I finished my project in the inside liner by using the patterned paper and a rubber stamped Friends sentiment.
I hope as you look through the images, you will get inspired by our creations and go to Sherri Baldy's Store and pick out a cutie to use yourself!
I'd Love to enter my card in the following Challenges:

Always Anything Goes at Craft Your Passion-Welcome SLS Lines as our sponsor

What a joy it was to color this beautiful image called Nature Fairy from SLS Lines for our Always Anything Goes Challenge at Craft Your Passion!!!!
These fairies are so popular with everyone now--this one is SO delicate and detailed.  Loved working with her!!  The prize for the winner in this Challenge is 3 single images from the sponsor's store.
I matted the image using a textured printed green-almost like a wallpaper!  I used some floral die-cuts, some fern branches, some small accent flowers from Petallu and one of the gorgeous twisted flowers with lots of glitter also from Petallu.  I added another filigree butterfly in cream for even more depth.  On the inside, I matter it with a distressed pink design paper with a corner accent.  Then stamped it with a sentiment about friendship.
I hope you will join us in our weekly challenge-we'd love to see your creations!

Lacy Sunshine gets Kids ready for School-A new Challenge! Anything goes!

Well Bubbles goes to Fairy School is such a great digital image from Lacy Sunshine for this time of year.  As parents everywhere get their youngsters off to the buses, into the carpools so they won't be late, the air gets a little cooler and soon the leaves will begin to color.  It's FALL!! Yea, my favorite time of the year.
This challenge is all about the season and school, or if you like, Anything Goes.  When I first saw this image, I thought of school uniforms so that's what I designed her clothing around.  Also that theme is reflected in the plaid background.  Then there was no question about using this pencil paper called "Making the Grade"!  I have this great die cut that looks like torn out notebook paper when it's punched-can you tell it was all coming together on this 6 x 6" card?
Inside I used the other side of the pencil paper and it looks like equations all over the creamy paper.  The notebook lines paper is actually from a 12 x 12" scrapbook paper!  Perfect!  And to top it all off, an encouraging sentiment!
We would LOVE to see all your creations so that we can share ideas.  Please join us for this 2 week challenge and come back often!

It's still Christmas in July at Sweet Pea Stamps and the One Sweet Challenge!

Continuing on with the Monthly Theme at One Sweet Challenge, It's Christmas in July!  AND that makes it a great time to get started on all your Christmas cards by using one of the many in the Sweet Pea Shop.  The one that I've used is called Merry by Regan Kubecek, a very talented artist among many at SPS!
There's lots of details in the image itself, what with braids, fairy wings, presents, piles of snow all around her, decorated Christmas Trees!  I used a very appropriate design paper in Christmas stripes, a red velvet insert to highlight the silver glitter domes, snow tex on the front hill and Frantage multi-crystal glitter mix/flower soft on the back hill, with silver filigree corner hinges.  I tilted the image a little to get a closer view of the sparkles.  Inside, I used the reverse paper from the stripe, stamped a super verse for Christmas and accented it with a poinsettia flower.
I also want to remind you that our prizes are three digital images if the winner uses an SPS image, or one digital image if the winner does not use an SPS image. Can you give me one good reason why you would not want to use an SPS image? This challenge will end on August 1.

Lacy Sunshine ATG Creative Team 2 week Challenge-"Spread Your Wings-in the Summer Sun"

We've started something new at Lacy Sunshine, a
2-week Creative Team Challenge for all of the fans of Lacy Sunshine images!
We are so excited to strut our "stuff" and especially, to see all the wonderful projects that you enter in the Challenge--It's Anything Goes and we know that you ALL love those!!   The image that I chose to illustrate the monthly theme of "Spread Your Wings-in the Summer Sun" is Desiree Dragonfly Buggmees and she can be found here.  I just adore the intricate details and the adorable faces that Heather creates for her Lacy Sunshine Store!
I love layers so I picked up colors from the Copic colored image (see recipe card) and used several mats of design paper.  I love buttons--can you tell??  The card blank is a 6x6 scalloped edged blank I got in a deal from England so I use them sparingly but Gladly give them up for Lacies!!  In the inside, against a soft purple paisley print, I placed a fancy cut flower from the Fred she Said collection I have from a past DT experience.  It has a choice of sentiment inserts so I chose a Thinking of You.
So come on, We Want To See Your Creations!  You have the next 2 weeks to enter and we wish everyone the best in the Challenge!

Things with Wings Monthly Challenge at Sweet Pea Stamps!

This is my post for the New Challenge this Month --Things with Wings!  There are so many images at Sweet Pea Stamps that will fit this bill!  I decided to use Green Bubble Sprite and will eventually try the tutorial at the website on how to make realistic bubbles!  I like how these turned out but we have an artist that shows how to make ones that are iridescent and so beautiful-Check it out sometime!
This is kind of how this card came to be...I kept having this piece of Magic Mesh, that was given to me by a friend long ago, keep on tumbling down on my craft table where I do all my creations...Irritated I kept putting it back ..until I thought that it really looked like the shimmery sea and matched the iridescent bubbles of the Sprite. So one thing led to another and hence the card.
Be sure to check back for the next month's theme at One Sweet Challenge-Sweet Pea Stamps has so many images that will inspire you to enter your creation!  Remember: Our prizes for our challenges are a $10 coupon if the winner uses a Sweet Pea Stamp rubber stamp or digital image and a $5 coupon to the Sweet Pea Stamp store if the winner did not use a Sweet Pea Stamp.  See you there!
