Squigglefly Challenge -It's SNOW much fun!!

For my next to last DT post for Squigglefly, I felt like I needed to be true to my favorite artist, Cheryl Alger.  She has inspired me for years and, with the help of the greatest digital image site around, Squigglefly, I was blessed to have been on the receiving end of many of her images.  This image is called That's Hot Max and I'm in love with the coloring I achieved with my copics.

The challenge was "SNOW much fun" so I used "snow" speckled paper and snowflake brads
I even added some white steam coming up from the cocoa-what fun!  The front sentiment is one from Doodle Pantry as is the inside design paper.  But the Friendship sentiment is part of the Max set.
I would like for a record amount of people to use a SF image and join our challenge-Let's go out with a BANG!!  Last time we had 33 entries! I want you to all get a chance to WIN and image from the SF shop!  We'll see you there!

Snowman and Embossing-such a perfect duo at Squigglefly!

I always love to have the chance to use a Snowman on any of my cards!  How can you not love their loveable faces!!  This week at Squigglefly, we are asked to use any embossing or die cuts on our cards!  I used a great embossing folder from Darcie that has lots of Christmas words and snowflakes on it that I did on pristine white cardstock.  I used iridescent stickles on those-how pretty!  Then I used an image called Snowy Card by Marla Shega, a great artist at Squigglefly.  I love her details!  The image is mounted with foam dots with a red sheer ribbon wrapped behind with a bow. The most gorgeous feature on this card, to accent the delicious red on his hat band, is the red velveteen paper from The Paper Studio-it gives the card so much depth!
For the inside of the card, I used a vintage holly paper with a wonderful stamped verse so appropriate for the Christmas season.  Squigglefly has SO many images to use for any reason, any season-You must go check them out in the shop!

Cherly Algers' Snowman showing up at Squigglefly

This week at Squigglefly, we were asked to use "Dear or Deer" in our creations and I chose to use one of my favorite artist's Snowman creations.

Cheryl Alger has many talents, but one of them is her heartwarming Snowmen.  You can't help but smile when you see them and so it is with me..This one is called Bashful Betty the Snowman and I'm so happy with the results!  I have the perfect friend to send this to for Christmas so it was easy to use the term "Dear" on my card.

This card was done on a packet of 6 x 6 scalloped card blanks that I ordered long ago from England of all places.  Lovingly using one of my fav color combo's. blue & green, I had the perfect matching paper!  I fancy cut Betty, used foam dots to elevate her and the sentiment (computer generated) and used a Jolly sentiment on the inside with a snowflake sticker.  I'm having such fun working on Christmas cards this early!  For a little sparkle, I put orange stickles on the noses.  Please come and join us this week and, if you use a SF image, you could win another one from the extensive shop there!  We'd love to see what you come up with!

Christmas Cards but in a non-Traditional way-now at Squigglefly!

This is the most fun paper in limes, blues, lavenders so it fits perfect with the theme at Squigglefly this week!  We are to use NON-TRADITIONAL colors for a Christmas Card!  So I used lime green poinsettias with blue berries, lavender candles, blue tree skirt, gorgeous lime sheer wide ribbon-all so yummy!!  More of the paper on the inside with a wonderful stamped verse by Stampabilities.
THIS challenge has sparked my Christmas Festive Spirit and I think it's time to set my extra table set up, get all my card embellies out, and start a marathon session with Christmas music playing in the background!  How about you???  Come and join in the fun at Squigglefly and get your Holiday MOJO on!  You could win a prize if you use a SF image-Mine is called "Christmas Tree with Candles and Holly" by Pammie Lehto.  She would be a good starting place to get some images to use on your creations!

Little Red Riding Hood is FRAMED at Squigglefly!

All is right in the world finally this week...we have returned from the 10 day Covered Bridge Festival that occurs every October, we've gotten back into our routine of going to work (moving a little slower however with our muscle aches and soreness), and ***getting back to doing the things that we love--for me, it's getting back to making cards and coloring images.  At Squigglefly, we are having our weekly challenge-Use a Frame on your creation.
What with Trick or Treat coming up shortly, I pulled out an image called Little Red by Fawn Palmer 'cause I could see some child dressing up like Little Red Riding Hood for Halloween!  I used some digital paper and embellies from Doodle Pantry's shop: the leaves,"ribbons", background paper, and pumpkins.  I fancy cut Red and wanted to accent her cutie face so that's where I set the Frame we were to use.  Come join us and perhaps you could win an image!I apologize for the "off" color on the frame photo-it truly does match the green on the card!

Pumpkin Image or Color on Squigglefly's Latest Challenge

It's that spooky time of the year and Halloween is right around the corner.  Our challenge this week at Squigglefly was to use a pumpkin on your entry (hey, maybe even a pumpkin PIE would count!) OR the pumpkin orange color.  As the "Blood Moon" just made an appearance this morning around here, I chose to make a huge orange moon for my card.  It highlights perfectly the great house image called Haunted House by Carmen Gamble, one of Squiggleflys great artists!  I used a very neat die cut that was furnished by one of my scrapbook friends-I got white, brown and black!  I figure that should just about cover all the seasons!  This blue accent color paper is from The Paper Company called Ecorce, made in France.  It has hard, raised creases that ripple across the paper and I got it in several colors-I'm just fascinated by it!  Maybe you can find this 8.5 x 11 paper in your local HL like I did!
The inside is matted with the same orange paper with the saying "From our House to yours~Happy Halloween" .

This week's challenge at Squigglefly is to create a project using orange, purple, or black as your primary card color.  You can use more than one of these colors on your card. Your card doesn't have to be Halloween theme, as you will see from the DT examples online, any topic is welcome as long as you chose one of the desired colors. We'd love for you to use a Squigglefly image, to be prize eligible it's required, but everyone is welcome to play along.

Squigglefly wants to see some BLING or EMBOSSING

This week I'm using some Stickles on my image to join in the BLING or EMBOSS challenge hosted by Squigglefly.  The image is by James Horvath called Secret Agent set, surrounded by a Half-Moon Rectangle created by Charlene Mitchell.  I just love this Spy (reminds me of Get Smart and the 60's).  Then the fake nose/mustache/glasses image from the Spy set is added to a text box from my computer for my Birthday Wish.  The accents are a group of assorted buttons and a great stitched manly ribbon down the side.  These are some of the monthly new images and there are plenty of others launching also-be sure to check them out at the SF shop and see all the wonderful artists they have.  Join in the weekly challenge-you have until Sunday to play and possibly win a free image!

It's Happy Birthday for the STAR in your Family at Squigglefly!

This week's challenge at Squiggle Fly is to make a card with a STAR on it, or make  your card STAR shaped. (We'd love for you to use a Squigglefly image, to be prize eligible it's required, but everyone is welcome to play along.)  I've used an image from Sandra Caldwell called Ladybug Gal--she has so many others in the SF shop!  I paired her with this great Happy Birthday paper I had that's LOADED with stars.  I used diamond stickles on all of those as well as her fairy wings.  The abbreviated version of Happy Birthday to You fit in just perfect over the 2 die cut stars that I used in the corner!  A truly FUN card to use for that Special Day.  We hope to see you with an entry on this weekly Challenge!

Fall like colors are featured on Squigglefly's latest challenge

The challenge this week at Squigglefly is to use the colors Brown, Red, Orange & Yellow and I thought that the image called Sunflower by Norma Burnell was perfect for this!  I can just smell the crisp Fall air just thinking of these colors~ Norma's intricate designs have such awesome details!  She has a whole series of these lovely gals so check her out in the shop.  I used a "vine ribbon" and some fall bling from The Paper Studio, along with digital paper.  I put some crystal Stickles on her wings but wanted to really focus on her face for the most part.  Thanks for looking and come join us for a week's worth of fun and the chance for a free digital image!

It's BABY time at Squigglefly this week~Come play with us!

I'm using a favorite image of mine by Fawn Palmer, one of the many talented artists at Squigglefly--it's called Baby in a Tutu and is unique in that it's a "coming and going" image.  While I didn't use the second digi, it would be so cute!  I don't know what the draw is for paper piecing but I'm on a roll lately!  I started out with double images and then cut the arms, shirt, and head out of the second one.  I used this stretchy ruffled sheer ribbon and glued it around the tutu pattern, then layed the cut image over the ribbon with pop dots for dimension. I think it will make a nice card to parents of a child that's just beginning to crawl and into everything!  The Fun's just starting!  This weekend Squigglefly launched some terrific new images and they are so awesome-check them out as soon as you can!

Let's get aROUND to entering Squigglefly's latest Challenge!

Yep that's right~ This week's Squigglefly challenge for Rhonda's Rowdy Rascals is to make a round card!  Some people, like I've been in the past, are a little intimidated by making circle cards-that it's a little harder to get items spaced around it.  But we'd love to see anything that you come up with!!
The image that I've using this week is called Bird Watcher by James Horvath.  I'm having such fun using his wild and sometimes wacky images!  I thought of this cute bluebird paper by Frances Meyer and used it on a scalloped circle scored card blank by The Paper Cut.  That's the company that I also got my shaker large circle pouch for my seed beads from.  They have a lot of different sizes.  The butterfly and pearl accent are from my stash.  The set also includes some binoculars which I used on the inside along with a sentiment from my computer.  Come on and join in the fun-the winner gets a free image from the vast group of artists!

I'm OVER THE EDGE at Squigglefly this week-Great Challenge!

This week's Squigglefly challenge is called "Over the Edge."  Something on your card must extend over the edge of your card.  That could include your image, and embellishment, or even some lace.  Check out all the wonderful examples below.  We'd love for you to use a Squigglefly image, to be prize eligible it's required, but everyone is welcome to play along.
I used this adorable image called Hungry Dog by James Horvath .  This reminds me so much of OUR dogs waiting around last week when we had a cook-out for my husband's birthday!  He is so cute!  There are a lot of new artists at the Squigglefly shop and James is one with a lot of cute images.  I've extended the card by placing the Grill off the top corner and by making some "smoke vapors" coming off the hot coals that I'm sure are in the grill!  Come on over and play along with Holley's Hobbists as they show you their creations.  Have fun!

Squigglefly New Releases are Here!!! Come join our Challenge-USE SCRAPS!

This weekend is the official launch for new artists and their fantastic digital designs at Squigglefly!  Tam Hess provided the one I'm working with today, Fred-Miss You, and he comes with a couple of sentiments also.
The theme this week is to USE SCRAPS!!  We all have those don't we!  While the tiger patterned paper isn't a scrap, the black was-I chose to cut it into strips to use like ribbons!  And then I used the small scrap of orange cardstock as a mat for Fred's sentiment.  Inside there's a scrap of brown kraft paper that I stamped with colorbox chalk ink using one of my stash stamps!  I think this will be perfect for one of my Grandkids in NJ!
Be sure to check out the Squigglefly Shop and all the new creations from all those talented artists!  We have so many unique digis offered there and if you enter the challenge this week, you could win a FREE digital from the shop!

One Layer cards at Squigglefly this week--Holy Cow!

The Challenge at Squigglefly this week was to create a 1 layer card....For me this was SO HARD!!  I simply love to create cards that build and build on top of each other.  I was never so glad to have png images so that I could "layer" them all onto 1 level.  The Image I'm using this week is Travel at Your Own Pace by Cheryl Alger-she's one of the talented artists at Squigglefly.
I placed the digi onto a blue background, added a sentiment from my stash both to the outside and inside of the card.  The only fear that I had doing this card was that I would mess up the coloring of the digital image and have to start over again!  Oh the pressure lol!
We have three new artist making their debut this coming month at Squigglefly.  They are Tam Hess, Norma Burnell, and Angela Charles.  Each of them have their own unique style.  We are also welcoming a new design team member Jen Leeflang.  Jen's blog is http://jencraftsa.blogspot.com.  Be sure and watch her posts for some great ideas!

Use Summer Coloring-Orange or Blue on Squigglefly this week!

This week the Squigglefly challenge is to create card using Orange or Blue (or both) as your primary color.   It can blue for the summer skies or the water to play in or orange for the sunshine.  Show at least one of these colors on your card or even both.  Your card does not have to be summer in theme, but either blue or orange should be the primary color of your card  We'd love for you to use a Squigglefly image, to be prize eligible it's required, but everyone is welcome to play along.
I'm using one of Sandra Caldwell's images from her Americana series called Liberty Gal and it's sure appropriate for this time of year!  The card blank I'm using is the Double Hinge Fold from The Paper Cut in Wild Cherry.  It's a great way to start the card off and so easy to use as your
base!
Come on over and play-you'll have lots of fun!

It's anything goes at Seems a Little Sketchy this week

At Seems a Little Sketchy this week, our challenge is USE ANY IMAGE-any theme as long as you follow our sketch!  How easy is that!!!  I used the new image from Squigglefly Artist, Sandra Caldwell .  What with the Fourth of July coming soon, I used Liberty Gal centered with 2 squares of Holographic paper by Hot off the Press.  I love the way the stars are picking up the colors from the light!  The 2 sided paper has a great deep red checked on the back which I used for the corner features.  There are 3 silver adhesive stars instead of the banner.  I think this will make a great card for the Holiday wishes sent to a friend.  Be sure and join in our challenge this week-we are sponsored by The Robin's Nest and they are giving the winner a $10 Gift Voucher!  How Wonderful!

It's Christmas Time at Squigglefly-Get your Card Supply started!!

Well it won't be too long before we will all be getting our Christmas cards ready to send out, the icy wind will be blowing and we'll be getting ready for my favorite Holiday of the year!  While in this heat, I'm having a hard time wrapping my brain around that, Squigglefly is encouraging us to join in the latest challenge--Make a Christmas card!
I chose Ornament 4 by Lynne Stansbery , one of Squigglefly's talented artists.  She has a whole series of different style ornaments and they are rich in their shading and a joy to use!  I've used crystal stickles on the accents and a Memory Box die called Frostyville as the snow accent on the side.  Pull out all your wonderful papers and embellies out and play along with us at this week's challenge and if you're a winner, you will get your choice of a free digital image from the shop!

It's a Father's Day Challenge at Squigglefly! Preview of new artist's this week!

Our latest Challenge at Squigglefly is a timely one--for Father's Day!  This new artist that is joining us in the Squigglefly shop this weekend is James Horvath.  I thoroughly enjoyed using his image called Family!  Squigglefly will be debuting several other new artists so check them all out!
Since it's so hot and summery around here (and yes, I said I'd never complain about the heat after the terribly COLD winter this last year!), I decided to use sunflower paper, a sentiment from my stash raised on pop dots, and my favorite embellies~BUTTONS!  Inside, I put the reverse side of the sunflower paper and another verse that I've been saving for a "Daddy" card!  I hope you will be running to enter your Father's Day card in our weekly challenge-the winner gets a free SF image of your choice!
