Gift Giving Avery from Paper Nest Dolls--Wintertime!

In order to keep myself cool...still..in Illinois I'm working on several Fall and Winter cards.  This one features "Gift Giving Avery" from the images from The Paper Nest Dolls site.  She's one of their 4 main characters--one of the questions on our Celebration Party post yesterday for gifts, prizes, and giveaways.  Christine Young, resident artist at PND, was so excited about our 5000th Follower to the site.  WooHoo!
Besides coloring Avery with Copics, I added glittered snowballs, mylar ribbon, Wink of Stella in clear, shiny silver snowflakes and white chunky Frantage for the falling snow!  On the inside, I used a complimentary design paper and stamped a rubber sentiment from Hero Arts.  Make sure you visit the blog site on September 3rd for the New Release reveal.

Paper Nest Dolls Challenge--I'm using Avery with a Snowman

It's that time again to showcase an image from Paper Nest Dolls that's perfect for this Terrible Winter SNOWY weather we've been having in Illinois lately-Think tonight it will be -25 degrees with the wind chill- YIKES!
I would be wearing my snowsuit just like Avery With Snowman, found here at the PND Store.  Did you know that this isn't a rubber stamp? Paper Nest Dolls has digital images also and they are so handy to resize!
I decided to use this as a Birthday card-I always have requests for those!  After coloring her with copics, I edged the white card stock with a Color Box fluid ink in Peony.  Looks sharp next to the black sky/white snowflake paper and the Raspberry trimmed image.  I stamped using a white ink so it would show up against the pinkish-red card stock.  I finished the inside off with the same snow design paper.
Christine from PND has so many images for you to choose from--be sure to join in our challenge for a chance at some fabulous images.  It's our Birthday month--even more special when you join us to celebrate. Hope to see you there!

Reminder there's a Christmas-ATG Challenge over at Color It Create It Show It Off

With this little cutie, I'd like to remind you that right now there is a Challenge going on over at Color It Create It Show It Off.
We welcome you to use whatever medium you wish and whatever image you wish. We the design team create with our sponsors image My Besties, but you are welcome to use anything. Our new Challenge for this month is Christmas/Anything Goes.
I'm using Mr. Snow man Scan 0046    and I love all the little details on him!  To bring out the red accents on him, I matted it with a Christmas stripe and then used as a background a shiny paper that looks like some of the white has been scratched off down to the shiny silver-I love it!  I added some white flower soft for the snow drifts on the bottom.  The different accent on the card is some light blue jewels that are hanging like melting snow, like on the pot handle, glove...can you spy the other places?  Well, you've got lots of time to show us your creations at our challenge-we can't wait to see them!

All Dressed Up reminds you Of their CHALLENGE Going on--I'm using SNOW DAYS!

I'm so excited that over at All Dressed Up Images there are some Winter/Christmas digis in with the New Releases that debuted on the 7th!!
I love Christmas-one of my FAVORITE Holidays ever.  So my choice for this card is called Snow Days!  I colored this bundle of icy crystals with Prismacolor pencils-think I'm getting a little better with practice.  Now the background is done with copics so I could get that smooth blend of light blues to deep ones.
Then using some metallic cardstock from TPC (white shimmery and blue with shimmery flecks in it) as mats, I then used 2 different design papers.  The sentiment is already on the print BUT I enhanced the image with half domed white snowballs-they shimmer also, and some blue and silver metallic snowflakes.
The inside is also finished and a Christmas greeting is stamped onto a special circle mat.  Hope you like and hope you remember that there is still a Challenge going on over at All Dressed Up!

The Theme is WINTER over at Come and Get It Challenge-I'm featuring Ppinky Dolls!

Do you ever have an image you're working with that just puts a smile on your face and makes your project go quickly?  Well this image from Ppinky Dolls Art that I used on the Come and Get It Challenge was it for me- the THEME is Winter!
Now normally I would highlight the image right on the front of my cards but, with this image "Winter Walk", I wanted to accent the wispy hair and soul-searching eyes.  So using my circle die, I created a "peek-a-boo" hole which I then covered in a matching lime green embossed snowflake patterned paper.  The sentiment stamp is from KKS and perfect for so many things!  I think this trim makes it look like snowballs around the opening and I glued a silver snowflake charm to the seam.  When opened, now you can see the whole image that I colored with Copics.  Another sentiment from KKS great for Birthdays and an accent of silver balances the inside.
At Come and Get It, we have Challenges every week and have some Awesome Sponsors!  We really want you to come out and play-there are some wonderful prizes available and it's a great place to get inspired with new ideas!

The Theme is CHRISTMAS at Crafting When We Can, Sponsored by Sasayaki Glitter!

This cute image from Sasayaki Glitter is our featured image for this post from Crafting When We Can .  This talented designer is always so generous with her images and the compact design allowed me to make my first shaker card for a long while.  Our Theme for this challenge is "Christmas" and I'm sure that your craft room is as hectic as mine is-perfect time for getting your cards completed!
This image is called Snowman & Bird and is beautiful in it's simplicity.  Using a clear shaker form as a pattern I cut an opening in the front with my circle die, pushed through the shape, filled the cavity with clear bugle beads and seed beads and then mounted the image behind all that. I accented the card with the rich red plaid paper, sheer organza ribbon, paper poinsettia, and white pine die cuts.

On the inside liner I used a pattern paper that reminded me of snowballs and placed a cardstock print of JOY.  Please join us for a great Challenge at CWWC and hopefully you will win some free images as a prize!

Always Anything Goes at Craft Your Passion- Come and see Fabrika Fantasy's images

This joyful Christmas card is for our Anything Goes Challenge at Craft Your Passion.  This time we are sponsored by Fabrika Fantasy and this image is called Winter Games.  It comes in both a b&w image as well as a colored one.  Because I had an emergency in my family this week, I elected to use the pre-colored image.  That's the beauty of having the choice-those last minute cards we all need!
I used a great paper pack from Gina K. Designs called Home for the Holidays.  After matting the image with a cheerful green, I used 2 of the different patterned papers and a sentiment from KKS.  I added an iridescent ribbon with a cluster of jingle bells to accent.
On the liner inside, I offset the designer paper and another KKS sentiment, perfect for the season.
We can't wait to have you enter our challenge!  The winner will get 3 digital images from Fabrika Fantasy-show us your creations!

Squigglefly Challenge -It's SNOW much fun!!

For my next to last DT post for Squigglefly, I felt like I needed to be true to my favorite artist, Cheryl Alger.  She has inspired me for years and, with the help of the greatest digital image site around, Squigglefly, I was blessed to have been on the receiving end of many of her images.  This image is called That's Hot Max and I'm in love with the coloring I achieved with my copics.

The challenge was "SNOW much fun" so I used "snow" speckled paper and snowflake brads
I even added some white steam coming up from the cocoa-what fun!  The front sentiment is one from Doodle Pantry as is the inside design paper.  But the Friendship sentiment is part of the Max set.
I would like for a record amount of people to use a SF image and join our challenge-Let's go out with a BANG!!  Last time we had 33 entries! I want you to all get a chance to WIN and image from the SF shop!  We'll see you there!

Great Images from Lacy Sunshine sponsor Southern Girls Challenge

We are so excited to be starting another Fabulous year at Southern Girls Challenge with wonderful sponsors lined up for your pleasure.  The first theme on the new year is "New Beginnings" and I felt that this image from  Lacy Sunshine called Sammi Boo's Hot Cocoa was a nice image for that.  I think she's sitting in the stary night with her warm drink, contemplating what the next day in January will bring her.  We all start the year with excitement, anticipation, hope, prayers.  I know I'm thankful that I belong to such a great team and am excited about all that is planned for 2015.  We are changing the format to a new challenge every 2 weeks, so that gives you new new opportunities to join us in the challenges.

Snowman and Embossing-such a perfect duo at Squigglefly!

I always love to have the chance to use a Snowman on any of my cards!  How can you not love their loveable faces!!  This week at Squigglefly, we are asked to use any embossing or die cuts on our cards!  I used a great embossing folder from Darcie that has lots of Christmas words and snowflakes on it that I did on pristine white cardstock.  I used iridescent stickles on those-how pretty!  Then I used an image called Snowy Card by Marla Shega, a great artist at Squigglefly.  I love her details!  The image is mounted with foam dots with a red sheer ribbon wrapped behind with a bow. The most gorgeous feature on this card, to accent the delicious red on his hat band, is the red velveteen paper from The Paper Studio-it gives the card so much depth!
For the inside of the card, I used a vintage holly paper with a wonderful stamped verse so appropriate for the Christmas season.  Squigglefly has SO many images to use for any reason, any season-You must go check them out in the shop!

Cherly Algers' Snowman showing up at Squigglefly

This week at Squigglefly, we were asked to use "Dear or Deer" in our creations and I chose to use one of my favorite artist's Snowman creations.

Cheryl Alger has many talents, but one of them is her heartwarming Snowmen.  You can't help but smile when you see them and so it is with me..This one is called Bashful Betty the Snowman and I'm so happy with the results!  I have the perfect friend to send this to for Christmas so it was easy to use the term "Dear" on my card.

This card was done on a packet of 6 x 6 scalloped card blanks that I ordered long ago from England of all places.  Lovingly using one of my fav color combo's. blue & green, I had the perfect matching paper!  I fancy cut Betty, used foam dots to elevate her and the sentiment (computer generated) and used a Jolly sentiment on the inside with a snowflake sticker.  I'm having such fun working on Christmas cards this early!  For a little sparkle, I put orange stickles on the noses.  Please come and join us this week and, if you use a SF image, you could win another one from the extensive shop there!  We'd love to see what you come up with!

Robyn's Fetish Sponsoring Seems a Little Sketchy-5 Digi images free

This week at Seems a Little Sketchy we are featuring images from Robyns Fetish Digital Stamps and I chose this adorable Snowman!  Although I am SOOO sick of snow this January, he was too cute to pass up.  This is the sketch we used for the challenge but I did turn the image so that it fit my over-sized character better.
I used a 6x6 dotted swiss Bazzill cardstock for my base, then for the mats on my snow flurry paper and the Big Guy, I used wonderful metallic cardstocks by The Paper Cut-the colors are Ice Silver and Blue Mirricard, a gorgeous deep toned blue shiny metallic.  While I used these as shimmery accents and you can only see a slip of them, I can't wait to show them off more in the future.  The snowy diecut is called Frostyville by Memory Box, one of favorites.  Thanks for joining in on the Fun Challenge that will run for 2 weeks-plenty of time to get your project done.  Robyn is offering 5 digi images to the winner!

More Christmas Cards to share with you~

I was determined on my Christmas card Marathon journey to take pictures to share with you.  The cards that I was working on seemed to have a mind of their own and all the papers and embellishments and sentiments seemed to call out to be a part of the card...either that, or I'm going looney doing all of these and am hearing voices!

This precious lovely I matted with an evergreen paper and put that on some luscious Deep Brown cardstock from The Paper Cut called Echo-has a gold shimmer to it also. Then used an ornament embellishment sticker from HL for the accent-very clean and simple. Inside I used an Old World paper in antiquey green. A triple matted sentiment was used inside from my dear friend Linda.

**********************************************************************************
I went in a different direction with my favorite winter subject-a Snowman!  This one felt very "country-like" so I kept him rustic.   Using red/green plaid as a mat and the green starry paper I thought fit the bill.  There was a perfect cardstock sticker for my sentiment and I'm glad I snagged on to a set of rusty snowflakes a while back!  Didn't know where I would use them but worth waiting for on this card. I love the addition of my fav embellie- the BUTTON. On the inside I just kept it simple with a snowflake paper and cute Christmas lights and stamped sentiment.
I hope you like these and will get inspired to try some of my ideas.

Christmas is coming to Squigglefly-show us your Christmas spirit!

The theme this week at Squigglefly is use Christmas paper, ribbon or image on your creation that show the Spirit of Christmas.  Well, for around here, lately, it would be snow and frigid weather.  Go figure, right?  Thank goodness that Cheryl Alger, one of SF's top designer's, loves Snowmen and I am using her image called "Admiring the Star", sooo cute!  I'm loving these reversible papers by BoBunny in their Woodland Winter series.  I added a few extras: Ice Stickles on the Star, a snowflake die cut from one of my Memory Box dies, and, my fav, blue buttons cause they're fun.

I'd like to add that if you use a Squigglefly image on our challenges, you will be eligible for a prize for the week!  Also, the first Saturday of each month, new artists and images are previewed for your pleasure.  It's always an exciting time for all of us and we hope you will stop by also and Catch the Magical Spirit of Christmas.
