Reminder~ there's a ATG Challenge over at Color It Create It Show It Off!!

This was such an awesome image to color and create a card with for the unique group:  Color It Create It Show It Off.  We love using Sherri Baldy images and this one is officially called Img 957  and I used Tim Holtzs' Peeled Paint Distress Ink to edge it.
I just love this hot pink color I used for the daisy and the image gave me a chance to work with this curly hair that is such fun!!  I was so lucky that in my stash, I found the perfect glitter embossed paper in kind-of a 60's/70's style vibe.  Thought the combination of flowers helped to soften it a bit.  On the inside (I always make them complete), I used more of the retro paper and then matched the label die cut color to that paper and used a sentiment stamp from KKS to finish it.
This is a reminder that we still have a Challenge going on til the end of the month over at Color It Create It Show It Off.  Come over and join us and let us see your creations-we LOVE to be inspired!  It's always ATG at our challenges- just use your imagination!

Always Anything Goes at Craft Your Passion! This week we feature Little Blue Buttons!

What a fun time I had coloring up this little cutie from Little Blue Buttons called Miss Lilly on a Bike.  This is for our Anything Goes Challenge at Craft Your Passion.
I took a 6.25" square card blank and "chopped" out a part of the front-I wanted the picket fence to stand out in the design.  Covered the front with a spring-like yellow floral paper and mounted the image.  I love the combination of blues and yellows!!  Stuck down 2 sections of fence die cuts, mounted some small Gypsophila flowers from Wild Orchard, and stamped it for a friendship card.  I used some yellow embossed cardstock for the whole back panel and stamped an additional sentiment on the inside.  I can never get enough friendship cards made to send off!  Thanks for looking and we hope to see your creation on the website!

Always Anything Goes over at Craft Your Passion-This Challenge sponsored by Crafty Sentiment Designs

At Craft Your Passion it's Always Anything Goes so there's no excuse for you to not rush right over and get your entry into our Challenge!  This time we are lucky to use some great images from Crafty Sentiment Designs and my image is called Harriet-Little Friends.  This is such a super Springtime coloring for any type of card!

I used my copics to color the image, matted her in bright red, and then split the front using a glossy embossed spring word paper and a complimentary design paper.  I was so excited to use "Flower Border" die from Lawn Fawn for the first time.  I did trim the bottom "hill" off of the die cut and used my copics to give them some personality!  Love the accent it creates!  The front sentiment is from a Kraftin' Kimmie rubber stamp set, mounted with pop dots for dimension.  On the inside, I used an embossed scrap and another stamp from my stash.
We hope to see you visit us over at Craft Your Passion real soon!  We have challenges every 2 weeks!

Snowman and Embossing-such a perfect duo at Squigglefly!

I always love to have the chance to use a Snowman on any of my cards!  How can you not love their loveable faces!!  This week at Squigglefly, we are asked to use any embossing or die cuts on our cards!  I used a great embossing folder from Darcie that has lots of Christmas words and snowflakes on it that I did on pristine white cardstock.  I used iridescent stickles on those-how pretty!  Then I used an image called Snowy Card by Marla Shega, a great artist at Squigglefly.  I love her details!  The image is mounted with foam dots with a red sheer ribbon wrapped behind with a bow. The most gorgeous feature on this card, to accent the delicious red on his hat band, is the red velveteen paper from The Paper Studio-it gives the card so much depth!
For the inside of the card, I used a vintage holly paper with a wonderful stamped verse so appropriate for the Christmas season.  Squigglefly has SO many images to use for any reason, any season-You must go check them out in the shop!

New Birthday card Layout!

I really can't take credit for this creation I've just made--I saw something similar at Pinterest and fell in love.  So much so I went to the internet to purchase the Darcie folder that had the corner butterfly embossed scene.  Luckily, I had some beautiful butterfly die cuts from some dear friends at Your Scrapbook Place 'cause they just Make the card POP!  Then I put some pearls on them for accents.  The inside has a complimentary floral print and a stamped sentiment.  I always need Birthday cards and am so happy to have some new ideas for them-so many different possibilities!  Thanks for looking and hope you come back real soon!

Beginning a Lovely Partnership with The Paper Cut!

Off on a new adventure for me as I begin creating cards for The Paper Cut!  I'm  very excited to be using their very cool pre-cut and scored card blanks-it makes creating a card SO very easy.  No more measuring, cutting, scoring--it's already done for you!  All you have to do is add your creativity and have fun!
The style I'm using on these Birthday cards is called appropriately the "Cupcake Swinging Z Fold Card" in 2 fabulous colors, Lemon Drop & Pewter.  I've always been interested in these cards that do a "flip" while you're opening the card and having the Impression Obsession Cupcake Set thin metal die set to really accent the flip was fantastic!
On the BOLD graphic card, I teamed up the Lemon Drop card with one of The Paper Cut's new Pop Tone card stocks called Razzle Berry, both for the embossed liner and the cupcake base.  I love this yummy pink color!! Then I used the Whip Cream card stock for the icing and the cupcake sentiment frame inside-topped it off with some seed beads "sprinkles"--Looks good enough to EAT!!

Next I was on to a little more elegant card using the same Paper Cut swinging card but in the shade of pewter.  I was looking to make a masculine card but then stumbled over this paisley patterned paper from The Paper Studio-it matched perfectly.  There's a hint of green in the print so I used one of the Basis card stock line in Basis Olive for the embossed liner and the mat under the stamped image.  The blue accents are done with Basis Lt. Blue and "icing" in Whip Cream again.  I love the Stickles that I Sprinkled on the cupcake and the HB mat!
I'm so lucky to be using these wonderful items-I hope that you will visit The Paper Cut site and check out their Gallery for loads of ideas~  Thanks for looking!
I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

Emboss Me at Squigglefly this week!

This week's challenge is SFC2813 Emboss Me!

Squigglefly wants you to add something embossed to your card, it can be any of the wonderful backgrounds that create embossing, any of the spellbinders die cuts that have embossing, any brass stencils that use dry embossing, or add a great embellishment or cardstock that already comes embossed.

It is definitely the "DOG DAYS of SUMMER" here in the Mid-West.  I guess I find as I get a little older, I can't tolerate the Humidity. Thank goodness we have huge old maple trees around the house and good ceiling fans to stir the air!!  Well, with that thought in my head, I chose this neat image from Fawn Palmer called A Lap Dog.  We have a boxer and she is JUST like this picture-as big as she is, she doesn't know that she's not a lap dog-yep, climbs right up there and snuggles down.  I think I must have this look on my face ...as I struggle for AIR!  I used a great embossed cream cardstock that I actually got in a paper swap from a scrapbooking Board on Yahoo that I belong to.  It's called Scrapbook Place.  Check it out if you have some time!
Hopefully this heat wave will soon end-Wish you all a Popsicle to munch on and a cold shower to cool you off.  Thanks for looking! Carolyn
