It's Batter Up! at Come and Get It Challenge- Theme is use 2 different Embellishments!

Well I'm sure we've all spent time at the ball diamonds this summer with our kids so I find that this set of 4 boys playing at the summer sports is perfect for the Challenge at Come and Get It!  The Twist on this Challenge is to use 2 different embellishments--Mine are Baker's Twine and a Bat/glove charm. Our Sponsor for this Challenge is Pickled Potpouri and my image is called the Boys of Summer
I was so happy that I'd saved this baseball stitched paper for just the right card!  Makes a great background for this type of card.  This is on a 4.75" sq. card so I matted the design paper with red cardstock as well as the copic colored image.  You can see the r&w twine and then the waxed cord bow holding the charm.
On the inside I used a brightly colored paper with baseball caps.  This is unusual for me, but I left no sentiment on the inside.  That way I could use it as a Birthday card, or even a Thinking of You card.
Be sure and join us in our Challenge and have a chance to get a prize from our Sponsor!

I've used the Wonderful ADU image called "Summer Fayre"-perfect for this time of the year.  Love the whole concept of this-sitting out among the trees with banners flying and some goodies ready out on the table.  Colored her soft and feminine and was lucky enough to find a great paper match!  Used a KKS sentiment stamp on the outside and inside of the card.  On the inside was a simple strip of the distressed orange paper with a cupcake stamp!

We do hope you will find the time to play along - You have until the evening of the 14th August to enter your creations.   And don't forget there will be more amazing examples from the DT using this month's new releases back here on the 22nd.

ATG w/ Added Theme By The Sea - Color It Create It Show It Off Challenge

This is my DT card for Color It Create It Show it Off ~~Reminder Post~~  We want to "remind" all of you to get your entries/projects entered into the CICISIO Challenge.    It's been going on since the First of the month with the theme ATG / By The Sea and Nautical items are everywhere!
My image is called Sailor Boy and can be found here.  There are so many clever ideas - you must check them out!  I had this awesome "wave-like" paper and even fancy cut out a section to let the cardstock fish pop up from the waves!  I let the sisal rope peak out of the top corner and then trimmed the edges with some cut outs of a rope design paper!  The sentiment is from KKS and makes a great masculine Happy Birthday Card!  Now be sure and get your entries turned in over at the Challenge-you've got a couple of weeks left and a great chance to win some images from Sherri Baldy!

Sketch Challenge at Come and Get It Challenge! Knitty Kitty is our Sponsor-come out and Play!

I always enjoy making Birthday cards and need several of them -I'm using this adorable image from Knitty Kitty to create my project for the Come and Get It Challenge.  The Theme of this Challenge is to use this Sketch--You will notice that I turned my sketch to accommodate the rectangular shape of my image: called Hanging Around for You. That's the beauty of sketches-they are very versatile!
This is a 6x6 card with multiple layers, an adorable handcolored image and lots of embellies.
On the inside, I used more of the floral paper and a large Birthday Greeting stamp.
CAGI is excited to see YOUR project--we are always an ATG challenge but are now using THEMES each month.  We have great Sponsors for our challenges and it's a great way to win a prize!

All Dressed Up is Sunning on the Beach with ATG Challenge New Releases!

Welcome back to a brand new challenge.  We had some fabulous entries last month, so check back on the 29th-our winner and top three as chosen by our DT will be announced!

We will randomly pick a winner to receive 3 images of your choice, and our DT will chose their top 3 creations.

For this challenge, I used Summer Fun from the ADU store.  Would so love some time to just sit back in a Sling chair on the beach and soak up the sun-just like this image that the talented Wendy Burns drew up!  A bright orange sundress and a cheery turquoise chair sets the scene on the "sandy" beach--compliments of sand Flower soft.  To Achieve the Frothy waves, I used the chunky white embossing Frantage- it also helped hide the white edge of the sandy outcrop.  It's definitely a layered piece-first started with the cloud paper, then the fancy cut wave paper, then the image.  I colored her with copics and stamped a KKS sentiment on the front.  Then on the inside a great wave paper and another stamp with a Get Well Greeting.
We do hope you will find the time to play along - You have until the evening of August 14th to enter your creations using the links.

Over at the Color It Create It Show It Off Challenge this month, we are using the Theme By The Sea!  Perfect for the season what with everyone heading to the Beach or Pool to beat the Heat~I'm using img 086 and she can be found here in Sherri Baldy's Shop.
I LOVE this throw-back to sort of a vintage style bathing suit!  I always color on the heavy side with copics so I wanted to challenge myself to keep it light and airy.  I think I achieved that with the baby blues and taupes- splash of melon in there also.
The best feature on this card is the medium I used for the splashing waves and foam--Frantage with blue & silver glitter and white chunky bits.  It did amazing on getting the ocean action!  First time I'd tried the sand dunes so expanding my horizons!  Tied some khaki Bakers Twine around the matted image and attached a silver sunglasses charm.  On the inside panel, I used some floating bubble paper and a great Sentiment stamp from KKS!  Be sure and enter a card or project yourself into our monthly challenge--great chance to receive a choice of images from Sherri!
