Lacy Sunshine is Celebrating with us at Southern Girls! Merry Christmas!

I am loving getting ready for Christmas around the 'ole crafty home!  This time of year, both teams of Southern Girls are getting together and are showing Celebrations in our lives.  My favorite time of the year is Magical Christmas.  While I hate the snow that comes to this area, I love all the symbols of Love and acts of kindness that people show to one another.  Many members of our teams live in New Zealand, Australia, England so their season is starting to have lots of green grass, warm sunny days..
We've had our first snows and I'm looking forward to all the baking, lighting the tree, listening to Christmas songs.  I'm using the super pretty image from Lacy Sunshine called Peppa Mint Sticky Wings and I adore her.  Her designs are always intricate but so cute!  The sentiments that I'm using are from Doodle Pantry, where I'm also a DT member.  I love this filigree sheer red ribbon and I also added some Ice Stickles in iridescent to the tips of Peppa's wings-hopefully will look like bells.
Over the last few years we have had lots of awesome DT lovelies and loads of fabby sponsors too.  This challenge we would love for all our lovely followers to join us for our special celebration challenge.  Just make a project that is about celebrating and link up in the link tool.
Please join us in our celebrations for the next 3 weeks!  We can't wait to see what you've created!

Cherly Algers' Snowman showing up at Squigglefly

This week at Squigglefly, we were asked to use "Dear or Deer" in our creations and I chose to use one of my favorite artist's Snowman creations.

Cheryl Alger has many talents, but one of them is her heartwarming Snowmen.  You can't help but smile when you see them and so it is with me..This one is called Bashful Betty the Snowman and I'm so happy with the results!  I have the perfect friend to send this to for Christmas so it was easy to use the term "Dear" on my card.

This card was done on a packet of 6 x 6 scalloped card blanks that I ordered long ago from England of all places.  Lovingly using one of my fav color combo's. blue & green, I had the perfect matching paper!  I fancy cut Betty, used foam dots to elevate her and the sentiment (computer generated) and used a Jolly sentiment on the inside with a snowflake sticker.  I'm having such fun working on Christmas cards this early!  For a little sparkle, I put orange stickles on the noses.  Please come and join us this week and, if you use a SF image, you could win another one from the extensive shop there!  We'd love to see what you come up with!

Delicious Doodles Sponsors Seems a Little Sketchy-Show me...Christmas Cards!!

I know , I know we need to fully enjoy the Thanksgiving Holiday before Christmas is upon us...you see, it snowed today...and that led to me playing Christmas music..which led to Christmas Cards, and before I knew it-I was in deep.
This sketch this week at Seems a Little Sketchy just lends itself to a beautiful card!  I'm using an image from our great sponsor, Delicious Doodles, called Christmas Lantern.  I've tilted the sketch a bit but love the way it came together!  This crackle paper from The Paper Studio is a great Holiday paper-I've used it both on the outside and inside.  The candle has gold stickles on it and I used red stickles on the berries.  With the red faceted bling, it really pops.  Join us at SALS for the 2 week challenge-Delicious Doodles will be awarding the winner a choice of 4 free images!

Fallen leaves, Nature's Bounty at Doodle Pantry and The Paper Cut-a time for Sharing

I can't resist using the Fall images from Doodle Pantry for some Thanksgiving Day cards for friends and family.  The colors are so vivid and the composition that Laurie at DP puts together is so perfect!  This rural scene with a wonderful tree in all it's glory is from the set Harvest Bounty.  I chose to mat it with a matching orange cardstock, wrapped with some grosgrain ribbon and then mounted onto a gorgeous shimmery blue cardstock called Triton from The Paper Cut.  You need to check out that site for not only pre-scored blank card templates for those folding, moveable cards you see everywhere (such variety!) BUT they also carry amazing cardstocks in metallics, mirror stock, textured, flecked, and pearlized just to name a few!  Love 'em!  The inside of the card is a tone on tone print with gold leaves on a fall gold paper from The Paper Studio.  Stamp is from my stash and perfect for the Holiday connection with the family.  As the Holidays get closer, I hope you find time to unite with your family members and talk about the memories...

Turkey Day cards are warming up our hearts at Doodle Pantry!

I love this time of year when the leaves have turned and there's a crisp breeze in the air.  It won't be long before Thanksgiving Day is upon us and we're stuffing all those yummy goodies into our tummys.
It's a perfect time to use some of Doodle Pantry's wonderful images on my Fall cards.  The beauty of the digital images is that you can combine several different elements of several different sets to make a gorgeous creation.  The leaves come from the set called "Eat More Ham" and the Craft Star is from the set "Autumn Star" (Laurie from DP has several of these 'Star' sets).  Of course the digital paper, mat, sentiments, and the "ribbons" are all from Doodle Pantry!  A One-Stop Shop for sure!  I used some fall cardstock stickers with leaves on the inside accent over some Fall leaf papers from Paper Studio.  Be sure to stop by and let your fingers do your shopping!

Christmas Cards but in a non-Traditional way-now at Squigglefly!

This is the most fun paper in limes, blues, lavenders so it fits perfect with the theme at Squigglefly this week!  We are to use NON-TRADITIONAL colors for a Christmas Card!  So I used lime green poinsettias with blue berries, lavender candles, blue tree skirt, gorgeous lime sheer wide ribbon-all so yummy!!  More of the paper on the inside with a wonderful stamped verse by Stampabilities.
THIS challenge has sparked my Christmas Festive Spirit and I think it's time to set my extra table set up, get all my card embellies out, and start a marathon session with Christmas music playing in the background!  How about you???  Come and join in the fun at Squigglefly and get your Holiday MOJO on!  You could win a prize if you use a SF image-Mine is called "Christmas Tree with Candles and Holly" by Pammie Lehto.  She would be a good starting place to get some images to use on your creations!

Oh Boy, Oh Boy--Masculine challenge at Southern Girls Challenge

Welcome to our new challenge **BOYS** and we have such an easy theme I just know we are going to have LOTS of gorgeous projects entered.
For the next three weeks you have the chance to create a wonderful boy themed project and link it up with us at Southern Girls challenge to be in the chance to win a prize from one of our three awesome sponsors, Make It Crafty, A&T Digital Designs and Iva Nova Chest.

I'm always needing masculine cards, especially for birthdays, so here is my contribution to the super Challenge!  I offset a mat around the image and used a great red patterned paper on the front and inside. Added some black satin ribbon accents and some perfect sentiments for the occasion.  Hope you like and will be encouraged to play along with us at Southern Girls!

Robyn's Fetish is sponsoring Seems a Little Sketchy this week!

This week we at Seems a Little Sketchy are being sponsored by Robyns Fetish digital  stamps and the image I chose to use is called Tom Turkey.  How appropriate for November!!  The sketch shown here is the template for all the sketches that are submitted-makes it so easy to put together a card for sure!
Since I was doing an elaborate paper-piecing job on the ole' bird and that made him a little chubby for the card, I chose to hang him over the edge.  I cut the front panel in half, matted some great leaf/turkey paper called "Where's the Turkey" by Karen Foster, then added my glorious turkey.  The belly is a paper piece that is inserted under a slit by his curved neck feathers.  Each of the feathers were drawn using a duplicate image pattern out of scraps and then glued on top of the finished image.  The three stripes to the right side of the sketch are actually on the inside, again using Fall patterned paper.
Hope you will come and join us in our 2 week challenge!

It's Challenge Time at Doodle Pantry for November!!

I know that my card this time is a day behind the Holiday but I just wanted to share this design.  I'm using some images from the Doodle Pantry newly released set(s) called Circle Something 1 & 2.  There are so many elements to use that I couldn't just use 1 set!
I just love this small print background paper along with the 3 different printed trees and pumpkins.  The white one is from another one of Laurie's Fall sets.  Isn't the BAT Adorable??!!  I have many of the shapes elevated with foam dots for that dimensional look.  I also finished the inside with a sentiment from the series and think it's just the perfect saying!
Be sure to get your entry in for a chance to win-you've got the whole month to work on it!  There's even a free set of images called "Fancy Pie" with a purchase from the store.  Thanks for looking!

It's countdown time to Christmas at Doodle Pantry's Challenge!

I'm sure, like many of you, I'm asking where did summer go and how did Christmas manage to sneak up on me once again!!!  Well Doodle Pantry is on top of this Magical Season called Christmas and has given us so many cute images to use this month, including ones for the holidays!  The one I chose to use is called Gingerbread House Ants-yes, they are making a Holiday appearance once again!  Truthfully, I'm not sure if they are eating more than they are building!
The background dotted paper that comes in the set has red stickles on random spots and the solid gold paper in the set I used as a ribbon and a mat for the included sentiment that works so well with the image.  I love the intensity of the colors that Laurie from Doodle Pantry creates in her images! There's also some Lily White Glitter "sugar coating" by Doodlebug Designs on the roof and dripping from the edge of the house.
This day starts out with our launch of the new image sets but be sure to check out the Challenge at Doodle Pantry that starts at noon Eastern time and join in the fun!  There's even a free set w/ purchase offered-great way to build your Image Library up~see you there!
