Going DOTTY at Squigglefly and in Real Life!!!

It's been pretty hectic around here this past week as we are trying to get all our "stuff" packed and ready for the Covered Bridge Festival that will start shortly AND I started a new job this past Monday!
BUT I didn't want to miss out on Rhonda's Rowdy Rascal's weekly Challenge where we were to use dots on our card here at Squigglefly!  I Surely got THAT covered!  I've used "Female Singer" by James Horvath to make a Get Well card.  She just seemed a little bit Sassy so I just couldn't refuse!!
Used a heavy embroidered cotton lace ribbon as trim and fancy cut the card.  Hope you like it and will join us at the challenge!

Lacy Sunshine is our generous Sponsor at Southern Girls Challenge

This week at Southern Girls Challenge, we are lucky to have a Lacy Sunshine image to use for our Shabby Chic cards or layouts.  Mine's called Maddie- Scarecrow and I love her!  The reason I made the head section larger is because of all the intricate detail on the digi--this way I can call attention to the face.  If I were to make her small enough to be one layer on the card, the details would be muddled because I couldn't have colored each section very well.   Come join us for our 3 week challenge-plenty of time to get your creation done and win some digis of your choosing!

Doodle Pantry is sponsoring "Christmas" over at Fab 'N' Funky

These challenges themed for Christmas are at least getting me in gear to start working on my Christmas Cards !  Fab 'n' Funky challenges everyone to create a Christmas card so here is my entry using Winter Wishes from Doodle Pantry.  From the digital papers, sentiment and image in both a tan fence and red fence, It's all available from this great site.  I threaded a sheer ribbon though the card, added snowflake eyelets and used Flower Soft and Multi Crystal Glitter Mix from Stampendous for the snow mixture on the image.  Hope you will be able to join in the challenge-have fun!

Choose Orange, Purple or Black at Squigglefly this week! Perfect for Halloween~

This week's challenge is SFC3814 Choose Orange, Purple, or Black

This week's challenge at Squigglefly is to create a project using orange, purple, or black as your primary card color.  You can use more than one of these colors on your card. Your card doesn't have to be Halloween theme, as you will see from the DT examples online, any topic is welcome as long as you chose one of the desired colors. We'd love for you to use a Squigglefly image, to be prize eligible it's required, but everyone is welcome to play along.
The image I'm using is from the artist Sandra Caldwell called What Witch. She was the basis for ALL the suggested colors and so much fun! Has lots of layers and fun ribbon and papers and some cute stamps-perfect to send for the holidays!  Come join us at the site for some fun and competition!  A FREE image is always a good thing!  See you there!

I've definitely moved things around on the design but I really like how I've drawn attention to the main focus-Kenny's image!   Used dotted swiss cardstock for some texture, copics for the coloring, circle die-cut up on pop dots for dimension, finished up the inside with complimentary green design paper and a stamp from my stash.  Hummm.....wonder what my granddaughter is up to???  Thanks for stopping by and remember to get an entry in on our 2 week challenge-any image will work, just follow the sketch!  See you there!

Masculine Classic & Corvette cars at Doodle Pantry-Great for Birthdays, Father's Days

Today, I needed a Masculine Birthday Card and chose a couple of the sets from Doodle Pantry-I love their pre-colored images when I'm needing something quickly!  I used Classic Cars3 and Corvette-what Man wouldn't like that combination?  The stripe and dotted papers, and sentiments are a mixture of each set. I think the best way of showing all the selections was to use a black card blank from The Paper Cut called a Funky Fold Accordion Card.  This pre-scored blank makes it SO EASY to make these intricate cards that usually require meticulous measurements and they come in a great assortment of colors!

In the middle, larger section I stamped the Happy Birthday with my fav Hero Arts stamp.  Imagine, you get all this action all within a flattened size of 4.25 x 5.5 card!  I hope you will check both sites out for some neat ideas!

An Extra BONUS release from Doodle Pantry! WHOOOO WHOOOO

New product release announcement:  There were SO MANY products on my October 1st release list, that Laurie from Doodle Pantry had to take a few out for a mini product release on September 16th!  Please be sure to visit the site to see 4 adorable new fall images and 2 new religious products.
The release set that I'm SO HAPPY to show you is called WhataHoot and it is fantastic!  There are so many components included and the coloring and shading is awesome.  With Lauries' png formats, I was able to layer the owls, extra branches, sentiment over top of some blue sky digital paper that I had.  You can see a glimpse of the patterned blue paper from the set for the inside.  I think when I added all the flower eyelets to the front of the card along with the green vine ribbon, it just made the whole front just POP!  I did reinforce the section that I was going to punch with additional cardstock but it still lays flat.  There is also gold Stickles around the Owls eyes-Hope you enjoy and will be encouraged to use any of these "bonus" releases on your next project!

Squigglefly wants to see some BLING or EMBOSSING

This week I'm using some Stickles on my image to join in the BLING or EMBOSS challenge hosted by Squigglefly.  The image is by James Horvath called Secret Agent set, surrounded by a Half-Moon Rectangle created by Charlene Mitchell.  I just love this Spy (reminds me of Get Smart and the 60's).  Then the fake nose/mustache/glasses image from the Spy set is added to a text box from my computer for my Birthday Wish.  The accents are a group of assorted buttons and a great stitched manly ribbon down the side.  These are some of the monthly new images and there are plenty of others launching also-be sure to check them out at the SF shop and see all the wonderful artists they have.  Join in the weekly challenge-you have until Sunday to play and possibly win a free image!

Another Look at the CHEER SPIRIT release from Doodle Pantry

I'm really getting caught up in all the different ways you can use this new release set called Cheer Spirit from Doodle Pantry!  Again teaming up that with a Top Note Swinging Z-Fold Card Blank from The Paper Cut in Grape Jelly, I've used the pompoms from the set-used 2, one for the base just fancy cut and then the 2nd one for cutting out accent streamers.  THEN I adhered purple glitter over all!  Love that Bling!  The orange front accent is one of the solid "papers" featured in the set as well as the striped paper.  I just love the action on these cards!  The sentiment on the inside is from the set-the "magnificent" is from one of their other DP sets.

Come join us on the monthly challenge and if you use a Doodle Pantry image, you will get this set FREE!!  WooHoo!

Cheerleading is spotlighted at Doodle Pantry! Get your FREE Set!

Doodle Pantry has come up with a great cheerleading release that has oodles and oodles of color combinations that might work with your child's Team Colors!  It's called Team Spirit and I couldn't wait to get out the Top Note Swinging Z-Fold white card blank from The Paper Cut to start my creation!  The great thing about digitals, as you all know, is the versatility of getting JUST the right size of images.
As you can see, the Top Note label swings as you are opening the card.  The sentiment inside, School Pride, also comes with the set.  I used a solid blue cardstock from my stash and the striped paper is from the Cheer Spirit set.  Also on the megaphone, I used crystal Stickles on the inside for some bling.  Remember:

What's the BUZZZZZZZ>>>>> around Seems a Little Sketchy this week??

For this 2-week challenge at Seems a Little Sketchy, we're being sponsored by Imagine That! with some great images and background papers.  The sketch we all based our cards on is shown here and for the winner of the challenge, Imagine That! is offering 3 digital images for you~
I was able to digitally layer the background papers to fit the sketch and then fancy cut the "Bee Boy" and mounted him with pop dots--hadn't made a 5x7 card for quite a while but you about needed to in order to squeeze all the neat items into the card!  There's Stickles on the Bee Wings and the Hive.  In the inside, again digital layering except for the bee ribbon that I've been dying to use!  Hope you will check us out and get an entry together so that you have a chance of winning!  We'll see you there!

New BABY card using Gigi Giraffe from Doodle Pantry!

It seems like there's always a demand for BABY cards among my friends so when I saw this cute set at Doodle Pantry called Gigi Giraffe...well, I just knew I would be using it a lot!  It's got such a fun image, cute papers and great sentiments!  Because they're pngs, I can layer the whole lot to build interest.  I used the green solid "paper" to create a ribbon, layered the saying and added a felt cut flower and some dew drops for a pop of bling.  On the inside, again layers with another flower.  Doodle Pantry makes it so easy to get your cards done.  Remember there's a challenge going on now and here's the information about that!

It's Happy Birthday for the STAR in your Family at Squigglefly!

This week's challenge at Squiggle Fly is to make a card with a STAR on it, or make  your card STAR shaped. (We'd love for you to use a Squigglefly image, to be prize eligible it's required, but everyone is welcome to play along.)  I've used an image from Sandra Caldwell called Ladybug Gal--she has so many others in the SF shop!  I paired her with this great Happy Birthday paper I had that's LOADED with stars.  I used diamond stickles on all of those as well as her fairy wings.  The abbreviated version of Happy Birthday to You fit in just perfect over the 2 die cut stars that I used in the corner!  A truly FUN card to use for that Special Day.  We hope to see you with an entry on this weekly Challenge!

We've Happily LABORED to bring you the September Launch at Doodle Pantry!

It's never too soon to start your Christmas cards and with this great release from Doodle Pantry called Carousel Deer, it's a great combination! This Holiday Deer is all decked out in a Christmas Themed Saddle and so Festive. I love the color combination of this gorgeous Teal and Pink~ I added some shimmery pink specialty paper from The Paper Studio called Fireweed Metallic, Pink velvet ribbon, a rhinestone and pearl embellie, and a Frostyville edge die cut from Memory Box.  I added diamond Stickles to the die and throughout the deer image.

On the inside, because of the pngs, I layered the different solid colors in the set, added the sentiment and flipped the deer down to the color.
Check out all the other DT posts to the new release and prepare to be amazed!  You will get so many new ideas for your creations.  We can't wait to see you there!
