Vintage Happy Birthday Card using Sherri Baldy's Sweet Lil' Things Img 5471

I'm using an image on this card from Sherri Baldy's "Sweet Lil' Things" collection.  This is Image 5471 and I did her in warm Copics and earthy hair colors.  Using 2 sided paper from KaiserCraft's Fairy Garden group, I was able to use them throughout the card.
I like to purchase laces and then cut out individual pieces from the whole that I can apply on the greeting cards that I make.  Great paper combination from Kaisercraft to keep the Vintage feel, along with the cream pearls.  On the inside, you can see more closely the 2-sided paper and then the sentiment gold accent.
Be sure and check out Sherri's shop where she has so many different Collections both characters, seasonal, themed images-each one unique.  There's also several digital paper groups that are so special!  She will be sure to have just what you're looking for!

ATG Challenge at Color It Create It Show It Off--Win some Sherri Baldy images!

No automatic alt text available. We wanted to remind all our friends and followers out there that there is still a Challenge going on at Color It Create It Show It Off until February the 26th.  We always have Anything Goes Challenges so it's open to anything!!  You get a chance to win some of the great images shown on the Challenge site from Sherri Baldy-how great is that!

I chose to use this image from the MB Butterfly Dreams Stitched Love Pocket Letter Kit--Lots of smaller images BUT the great thing about digitals is that you can crop them from the page and make them larger!  With my card, I used this adorable girl in the pretty hat, matted her with some Loden Green grass weave paper, and ran this new ribbon rose mini down the side.  Gals you need to go to HL and get some of this-it comes with 3 rows along the length so with 12" you could conceivably 6 six in. square cards with no problem!  The curl of the rose is real close so I couldn't put in a pearl half so instead I used my liquid pearls to make my pearl dots!  I also put tiny pearls on the flower centers and the buttons down the coat.  Found this perfect striped design paper and stamped a sentiment along the bottom in Colorbox chalk. On the inside I used a floral paper and then one of the sections with the rose.  Then stamped a sentiment from my stash.  I can never have enough Thank You cards!
Please come to our Challenge and you will get so inspired from others and have the chance to do the same for others with YOUR creation!

All Dressed Up ~ New Release! Theme is Romance And or Red!

February 2017 New Release!!

Hello Dressy Fans :)
Welcome to the first new release images for 2017! And Wendy has done us proud again with more gorgeous images.
They are now available in the Etsy Store -}here

As you can see, I chose to use "Some Bunny Loves Me" and fell head over heels in love with it!  Using the color combination of Pink and Gray -Yummy- I also put some clear Wink of Stella over the dress, shoes, and bows for that beautiful Shimmer!  Then, using a large heart die, I adjusted it so that the bunny ear tips extended over the gray matted heart.  The reverse pattern of the raspberry polkadot is this flourished print that is the vertical accent on the card. Added some pearls at the top and bottom and stamped the SU word~Adorable~ at the corner.

On the inside, I used a Valentine Word/Sentiment paper and then stamped it with a KKS stamp in the corner--Lots of room for your own personal greeting!
Don't forget we have two challenges running right now -

Our Blog Challenge
ending on the eve of the 14th

and our Facebook Challenge
ending on the last day on the month.
The current theme is Romance & or Red.

Anything Goes in this Post for January-MoonFlower sponsoring Crafting When We Can

This lovely image is from MoonFlower Digi Stamps  and it is called Elf Maiden.  I just love the long flowing hair and she has many other gorgeous females on her site.  These were provided for us over at Crafting When We Can Challenges and we're always grateful to use beautiful images.  Our ATG Challenge runs for 2 weeks so there's plenty of time to Start the New Year out right and jump right in to our Challenges with your creations.
The design paper I used made me think of a muted watercolor-just loved it!  After coloring her with my copics and mounting it with an oval mat,  I found a great sentiment from KKS that could be used for several occasions.  Little mini pink pearls edged the oval image. On the inside liner of the card, I used a muted light lavender print with another KKS sentiment that worked well with the general theme of my creation.
So come and join in the fun at Crafting When We Can -the Theme is Anything Goes so any of your creations would fit right in!

Rick St. Dennis is bringing Christmas to me-Sponsoring us at Craft Your Passion!

I just love this image from Rick St. Dennis called "Christmas Dance".  He has great shading built into the images making it real easy to shadow your work.  It's always "Anything Goes" at Craft Your Passion and this was a great time to get a Christmas card done!
I decided to do a different take and make this card an Easel Card.  Covered the front with a festive Tree paper with a trim of red velvet ribbon and white pearls.  You can't really tell from the photos but, there is a Wink of Stella on Santa's fur and Mrs. Claus' stars.
On the inside, some great sentiment paper in reds and greens.  I added a cardstock word with lots of red glitter "JOY" and a Jolee poinsettia in a shimmery red paper.
Please come join us in the challenge and show us your beautiful creations!

I really love girly cards and I'm so lucky to be on the UK DT of Sherri Baldy's My Besties Group--because so many of her images (this one is img 706) have ruffles, bows, curly cues in the hair just to name a few girly things!!!
This image is no different!  I instantly started looking for paper with flowers, lace, flowers, and bling!  I'm a hopeless romantic for sure.
I used a 6x6 scalloped edge card that believe it or not I got from a UK site that was closing down-More Girly!  I ran some heavy lace down one side of the copic colored image and then put tiny pearls along the lace flowers.  I found quite an assortment of flowers in different colors and sizes for the bottom corner.  On the inside, a complimentary stripe with a heavy cardstock sentiment grouping-It's neat that a variety of them come on a sheet and you just pick the one you want.
I had a very special Lady to send this to for her Birthday-my cousin, we are the only 2 women in the whole close family.  Even though we live far apart, we're never too far from each others thoughts.
Just as a reminder, there's still time in the month to enter one of your creations in our Challenge-come out and play!
If you use our theme this month
Halloween or Anything Goes

our winners will receive the following

Celebrating Alyce Keegan's Upcoming Wedding- Sasayaki Glitter DT joining Kit & Clowder DT--Congrats!

We are here today in honor of Alyce Keegan's wedding this weekend and we ALL wanted to participate even though we are spread far and wide.  Alyce is the creator of the Design Site, Kit & Clowder.  I'm on the Inspiration Design Team for Sasayaki Glitter and the owner, Naz Smith, created an image called "Bride" that had this gorgeous Bride and 2 different Bridesmaids  (which I opted not to use this time).  Our theme was to use Black & White as our base but, we could add hints of a color here and there.
On the dress I used a coat of Sugar coatings by Doodlebug, lily white glitter.  On top of the silver foil striped paper, I added a row of chiffon roses w/ pearls with a row of heart shaped pearls on an open weave ribbon.  On the inside, I used a complimenting design paper in gray.
Even after 46 years of marriage to my high school sweetheart, I can still remember the excitement of the wedding day!  We wish you nothing but the best on your future with Jon and hope you  both have many years together in wedded bliss!  Congrats!!

"Same But Different" for the My Besties UK Design Team--Hope you are inspired!

It's half-way through the month and, at My Besties UK, we like to have an event called "Same But Different" on the 15th.  Each of the DT members take the same image and put our own Flair on it!  This month's image is called Hollyhock Fairy and she's a cutie!  You can find her on the My Besties Shop here.
After coloring her with copics, I added Diamond Dust Stickles to her wings and Diamond Glaze to her gorgeous brown eyes so that they would look wet.  She is double matted, with a heavy lace accent on the side.  I used a double sided paper that had the whitewashed on one side and the terracotta colored patterned paper on the other.  The bonus is that on the edge of the 12 x 12 paper, as many companies are doing now, there was a sentiment on the very edge in Kraft color.  As you can see I used it on the front along with some flat based pearls. I finished my project in the inside liner by using the patterned paper and a rubber stamped Friends sentiment.
I hope as you look through the images, you will get inspired by our creations and go to Sherri Baldy's Store and pick out a cutie to use yourself!
I'd Love to enter my card in the following Challenges:

Julia Spiri is having an Anything Goes Challenge--Bridal is the "Twist"

Once again, I get to participate in  Julia Spiri's bi-monthly Challenge as the May Guest Designer and I'm so thrilled!  Although her challenges are Anything Goes, there's usually a Twist and this time around, we are showcasing her Bridal digitals that have been released recently.  They can be found at her Etsy store here--I chose to use Wedding Day.  Isn't she elegant??!!
On the 6" card, I used a cream satin heavy cardstock design paper that says "Tying the Knot".  Then a floral paper behind a kraft matted Bride.  I colored her in Copics and used Clear Wink of Stella for the veil and the gown itself.  Unfortunately the picture didn't pick up the shimmer of this great product.  I used a Frantage in the background that has bits of gold and white chunks-love it!  This heavy lace is so elegant for this special card and I used paper roses and rope pearls as an accent in the corner.  On the inside, it is finished off with a light design paper and a sentiment from my stash.

Be sure to come visit us over at the Challenge and get your entry in to be eligible for some prizes.  And Thanks to all the Julia Spiri Gals that have welcomed me with open arms!  I've had a ball!
I'd like to enter the following Challenges with this card:

It's Always Anything Goes at Craft Your Passion! The East Wind is the Sponsor this week!

This week at Craft Your Passion we are continuing with our theme, Always Anything Goes!  I'm sure many of you have Gorgeous Holiday cards or projects to show us.
This week, we are thrilled to have The East Wind as our sponsor and this image is called  Christmas Wreath with Sleepy Cats and Ribbons.  I put it on a 6x6 card, and used it on a Bo Bunny tree paper from their Sleigh Ride Collection.  There's a sentiment embellishment for the corner, pink pearl rope as an accent on the side and chunky white frantage over the whole thing!  I also used liquid pearl and silver gel pen for some bling.   I have just the perfect friend to give this kitty card to!
We can't wait to see your beautiful inspirations-the winner will get 3 images of choice from the East Wind store!

More Winter/Christmas cards from Lacy Sunshine--WHOOOO wants to see????

Have you ever used an image that just totally inspires you?  Well, I have when I started working with this Lacy Sunshine image called Snowy Owl Ethereal Enchantress.  From the fur around her neck and wrists, the owl "feathering", the wings and hair and my new friend Frantage.  There are so many wonderful images, especially with the focus on wintery/Christmas digis- I've loved every minute of using them.
So, I started with a 6x6 card and with this image, decided to make a pocket card for the Holidays.  I had JUST gotten this wide, heavily embroidered lace in like a latte color. I glued that to the backside of the image and tacked the ends of it and the image it was attached to onto the card.  I created the insert using the design paper, pink cardstock, a great Christmas stamped verse, and a perfectly matched oversized eyelet with pink eyelash fiber as the "pull".
I glued down a length of pink pearls cause I love pink and browns together and it balances the opposite side where the tree is.  On the inside, the color theme continues and is finished off by another stamped verse.
I hope this inspires you to take a walk through the Lacy Sunshine Store-there are some gorgeous images in there just waiting for your creative mojo!
