Wintery mix for January using Sherri Baldy's Nutcracker Img 5284

Well in Illinois, there were Winter Storm warnings out for this weekend and I must say, I was kind-of rubbing my hands together--a chance to get house-bound with lots of Sherri Baldy's images to color and play with!
Because I was feeling a little "Snowy"  I colored up one of Sherri's "Nutcracker" images:  this ones is Img 5284, Nutcracker the Gift.  I ALWAYS love her wintery scenes!
With the vintage coloring, pink and cream are one of my favorites!  I used a white Nuvo for the pearl dot effect-really like the control of it and will get more! An accent of metallic gold for the Crown and Chunky White Frantage for the snow.  Mixed some sweater paper with some foil paper for some triple layers and a trim piece with sentiments.
On the inside, I repeated the Blank textured paper with pale pink snowflakes and used a matching sentiment and pink foil tree to complete the card.
I hope you like my effort.  It has been a long way back for me from 2018 to now and with Sherri's help furnishing such beautiful creations, I'll be off to a good start!  Thanks for visiting!

Tree Dress Avery from Paper Nest Dolls

I've thought that maybe by making some winter/Christmas cards that this Heat will leave Illinois and take the humidity with it!  Thank goodness for FANS!
This image is from Paper Nest Dolls and is called Tree Dress Avery.  I don't know about you ladies out there but I find Purple a very hard color to show in photos?  The background of this card has Winter/Christmas sentiments all over it in a soft lavender color.  Then a shimmery pink cardstock as a mat behind the image.  Then the snowy scene--I used white chunky Frantage- love it for snow!  For the inside, I finished it with some gorgeous design paper, done in unusual colors for Christmas - love these ornaments!  Found a sentiment from my stash and added a white sheer ribbon for a bow and I'm done -ready to send it off!  Come join in on our Challenges-we'd love to see your work!!

Winter Wonderland - Anything Goes over at Color It Create It Show It Off!

This is a great way to start off the New Year with a wonderful My Bestie image and a super monthly Challenge over at Color It Create It Show It Off!
This is Img 180 and she can be found here.  There are so many Winter/Seasonal images that Sherri Baldy has in her store!  Just perfect for the theme over at CICISIO--Winter Wonderland-Anything Goes!
I love the Skiing aspect of this image!  It's unique-I love the combination of purples and soft greens.  I added some diamond stickles on her fur "ruff" around the boots for some bling effect!  I used silver metallic on her poles and White Chunky Frantage for the snowy effect in the background.  I think the wooden snowflake is an adorable finish.  On the inside,I finished it with some triangles of design paper and a rubber stamp from my stash.  It's got multi-purposes for the giver of the creation!  Come join our Challenge--we'll ALL get inspired!

Come and Get It Challenge is ATG ! Our sponsor is Knitty Kitty-how exciting!

This week at Come and Get It Challenge, we are showing off our Embossing Talents!  Of course, it's an Always Anything Goes Challenge so there's no reason you can't just join in the fun!  Our Sponsor is Knitty Kitty and this image is called Deep Sea Diver.  It is such a FUN image with so many options!  I have been saving this fantastic green/blue swirl paper that reminds me of the papers you used to make with the oil floating on top of water.  Perfect for sea water?  After coloring up the diver with Copics, it was on to Embossing.  I'm a Frantage nut so that was my solution.  I think you can
see it along "the sea floor" around his Flippers.  I used Aged Teal Frantage, a mixture of golds and teal embossing enamel.  I continued it up into the water area and mixed it among the seaweed, fish and bubbles.  I put a mask over the diving helmet the kitty's using and eventually coated it with Glossy Accents.  I used a small bubble die cut  next to the triple matted image and then used some gifted branchies in browns, spring green and mint green in a cluster, with a string bow and accented with a pewter sea shell.  On the inside, I used the reverse of the green water paper which was anchors.  The sentiment stamp is from KKS and a great sentiment to give a guy--hummm maybe at Father's Day!
So I hope we will see you at our Challenge so that you can inspire us with your creations!

Snowflakes are Blowing at Color It Create It Show It Off w/ Sherri Baldy's Images

What a great way to start out the New Year than with a New Challenge at Color It Create It Show It Off!   We are using Sherri Baldy images and this one, that is perfect for any Winter Occasion, is called Img 911 and can be found here in the store.  Done in Pinks and Grays, I added my favorite "go-to" for snowflakes, White Chunky Frantage.  I then mounted her on some glittery ornament paper pack called Silver Bells by KaiserCraft (as is the blue silver foil background paper.  I wrapped the card front with some snowball fiber and added some clear dew drops.
On the inside liner, I kept it pretty simple, using a weathered wood look in soft blue.  Added a
Merry Christmas sentiment that was already pre-printed in the Kaisercraft pkt.  Wonderful to have all the accents you need in one place!

A Christmas card with a Sweet image from Sherri Baldy!

I just Loved working on this digital image from Sherri Ann Baldy, #924 found in her store here.  It's so festive and perfect for the Christmas Season.  This is one of those dream cards that from the coloring and the papers and construction, the creative juices are just flowing and it's truly a joy to produce.
With this card, I wanted to use a design I often did years ago where you slip tags into pockets for messages or sentiments.  This image is matted in red velvet and shimmery gold cardstock and then onto some Holly print design paper.  I my mind the coloring on her dress reminds me of red velvet also so hope that comes across.  The background paper on the front is actually a Christmas song-perfect to use!  I added white flower soft and white chunky Frantage for the snow.
The tags I used were some that came on a 12x12 sheet all seasonal, with and without sentiments.  I put a brushed gold eyelet at the top and used some festive fibers for the pull tags.  Like a secret message for the recipient.
On the inside liner, I used the Holly paper again and a Stamped sentiment from KKS.
There are so many Challenges out there, especially for Sherri Baldy images, and some great Christmas ones also.

ATG over at All Dressed Up! Use an All Dressed Up Image ~

At All Dressed Up we are having a Blog Challenge that runs for a month-Yep until the evening of the 14th of November!  Plenty of time to get your freebies here or visit the ADU Store here!  You will have a hard time deciding because they are all amazing!
My heartstrings were just pulled when I saw "Little Skater" in the store-she is so pretty.
I colored her with copics, sticking to purples (stockings and scarf) and shades of blue, and used white opal Liquid Pearls for her ice skates.  Her ear muffs are covered with white Flower Soft to simulate fur.  Copic B60 is like a cross between lavender and light blue so perfect for the background sky-then I laid a layer of icy blue for the skating rink.  Then White Chunky Frantage all over for snowflakes!
Thought I would give you a close up of the feathery flower/snowflake cluster in the corner.  Look closely for the crystal jewels that are scattered throughout!
Besides the image, the jeweltone blue background is a standout on this card.  It's actually individual 5-sided multi-shaded blue "chips" that are adhered to the cardstock- pretty thick layered.  It really gives it a prismatic look-I've tilted the card so you could get a look.  On the inside liner, I've got a white embossed speckled cardstock, a matted Christmas sentiment with a blue/silver foil snowflake accent.  Ahh this beauty is finished and ready to deliver to a friend!

It's SKETCH time at the Come and Get It Challenge! Sponsor is A Day for Daisies!!

This week at Come and Get It Challenge, we are using a sketch for our creations.  Aren't they great when you just get stuck?  Our images are furnished by A Day for Daisies, Sami has just great images for you to use-check the site out soon!  This one is called Candy Elf and it makes a great Christmas card!
Background is a kraft toned Christmas word paper, with a rusty red plaid mat around the oval image.  I used silver bell brads on this stocking cap and added Chunky white Frantage with a touch of glitter for a snowy effect.  I took liberties with the wide horizontal bank, instead electing to use 2 red glittered rick rac in it's place.  On the inside,I again used the plaid and added coordinated cardstock stickers spelling out JOY and a matching tag with a red jewel.  Think it's a Festive card for our challenge this week!
The Winner of the Challenge will receive a $12 Gift certificate (3 Images) Come and join us for all the fun ~

For my 6x6 card, I had this terrific B&W snowflake paper and this great image called Warm Love from one of her earlier collections.  It's one of my all time favorites for winter scenes~  I used a brilliant aqua blue for the accents on her and accented with a mat of blue glitter paper, blue metallic snowflake and white glittered sheer leaves. On the inside liner, I showcased the snowflakes again with the metallic blue SF accent--it's just waiting for me to attach a sentiment for that very special person!  And of course if it's Snowing I LOVE to put White Frantage on my cards--Eeeeek!

Sasayaki Glitter now has a new member on their Inspiration Team!

I've just joined the Inspiration Team of Sasayaki Glitter and am looking forward to exploring her wonderful Digi Etsy store found HERE and finding all sorts of images to play with!
The image I used on this snowy card is called "So Cold" and is so appropriate for these past few days here in Illinois, cold, windy, snowy and blowy!  And yet, it's supposed to be in the 60's this weekend! Yep! Illinois!
After coloring her with copics, I used chunky white Frantage scattered over & surrounding her and piled at the bottom-I LOVE the look of this snow.  I trimmed the edge of the 2/3 cut front with glittered snowflakes and glued a Memory Die snowflake edge trim to the backside.  I've tried to open it a bit so you can see the overlay better.  So delicate!  On the inside, is a beautiful dark blue design paper with white swirls all over it-for sure snow!  Found a perfect Birthday sentiment to go along with it for the "lucky" people with those wintery special days!
Well be watching for additional posts that will showcase Images from this adorable site.  They will just inspire you!

It's Christmas Time at Lacy Sunshine Stamps~Celebrating with "Sugi Toy Soldier"

I'm so happy to showcase one of the great images in the Lacy Sunshine Stamps collections--Featuring "Sugi".  This one is called Sugi Toy Soldier and I colored her Rich in the glorious colors of Christmas.
Usually you would see the uniform done in the reds and greens of the Holidays but, when I saw this, I thought of black velvet and shimmering gold voile.  I put some Wink of Stella on the gown's petals and then used a gold metallic pen on the shoulder braids.
The background is done by coloring with a couple shades of blue copic and then, using a Q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol I dotted the wet tip all over the blue.  The more I let it rest in the spot, the larger circle it made.  A friend shared that technique with me and I really like the effect.  White chunky Frantage was used as the snowflake effect.
For the base of the card, I used a rich specialty "red velvet" paper
from Hot off the Press-SO scrumptious. For the mat behind Sugi, I used a great plaid on top of a deep green.  I placed red faceted buttons on the corners, wrapped the matted image with white sheer ribbon and tucked a border die cut of evergreen boughs under one edge after spraying it with an iridescent spray.  On the inside, I used the red velvet and plaid as the background for the Joy die cut.
I have so enjoyed this month of celebration of Christmas at Lacy Sunshine Stamps.  There are SO MANY Christmas digi images in their store to use on your projects.  They are bound to put a smile on your face and who doesn't want to start the day like that!  Hope to see your creations soon!

2 Cute Ink Freebie from their Newsletter-Too Cute to Spook!

I'm using an image called Pumpkin Cookie that I got as a Freebie by "subscribing" to the 2 Cute Ink Newsletter.  Heidi has a new image each month for you to play with and I course she wants to see all your creations!  I put this cutie on a square card base with some crazy bat paper from my stash, matted the image, added a sheer ribbon and spooky tree die cut.  If you look close at the ground around the pumpkin, you'll see that I scattered some Spice Frantage, heated it from underneath with my heat gun and then finished off the top with heat for some shine!  Inside the card is some great spider web paper from Graphic 45 along with a cardstock sticker.
Be watching the 2 Cute Ink for the upcoming Challenge on September 14th and ever two weeks from then on.  Come join us and let us see your creations!  Meanwhile, sign up for the newsletter so you can get the next freebie!
