Always Anything Goes at Craft Your Passion-Using Lacy Sunshine Image AND DT call!

We always get so many creative images at Craft Your Passion to use in our DT posts!  This week is no exception with one from Lacy Sunshine called "Charlie's Flower".  Such a cutie!
My daughter's favorite flower is a daisy, no matter what color!  So I had such fun coloring this one up and even put Lemon Ice Stickles on the center for a bit of Sparkle, even put some stickles on her wings!  Lacy Sunshine images are often intricate but the final effect is awesome.  After finding some papers that coordinated, I added some Pebbles Candy Dots in a sparkly glitter down in the corner.  Love the effect of the intersecting circle die cut! On the inside liner I used a mat that I stamped with a KKS sentiment.  Always great to have some uplifting messages to send your friends.
We always get some great sponsors over at Craft Your Passion so if you think you may be interested in joining us come and visit!  There's a DT call out right now that lasts until the end of August-we'd love to see you there!

It's SKETCH time at Crafting When You Can-sponsored by Lacy Sunshine Stamps

This week at Crafting When You Can (CWWC) we are being sponsored by Lacy Sunshine Stamps.  The Twist with our Challenge #115 is that you are to use a provided SKETCH-see example.  I got to use the lovely Orchid Enchantress and was thrilled because it was one of the images I didn't already have!  I always work on coloring the images first when working with a sketch and hope that the colors that I've used with work/match some of the many design papers that I have in my stash.  The inside of the orchid is actually a reddish deep purple and I love the warm yummy...maize... color of the petals.  That's a perfect word for the color!  So even though the purples and the creamy yellow/loden greens don't seem to work I was so pleased with the colors.  I used some white floral die cut sprays, coloring them green with my copics then added the purple button touch.  I put clear acrylic drops on the leaves and petals for dew drops.  On the inside I used the double sided paper so it coordinated with the panels in the front.
I hope you will join us over at Crafting When We Can and have lots of fun!

It's Moppet Time at Lacy Sunshine Stamps! Mine's a little bit of Vintage.

This month we celebrate the Moppet's here at Lacy Sunshine-they are creations of artist Heather Valentin and come in many forms as you will see throughout March.  The one I chose to use is Camile Melancholy Moppet and I especially liked her because of the violin in her hand.
I come from a family that always had Music in the house and learned to love all forms of it.  My Dad was a college professor that taught Opera and singing in NC and once had a contestant in the Miss North Carolina Pageant.  We listened to Classical as well as folk and soft rock. My brothers were both in the Band at school and I took piano and voice lessons.  My favorite memory is when we would go around to all the neighborhood around Christmas caroling-the great thing is with 5 members, we could each carry a part and had awesome harmony.  Good times.
Well Camile brought all those memories up to the front.  I love her rich looking clothing and hope I've colored it to look like velvet...that was my vision anyway!  Using a Z fold style card, I mounted a triple matted Camile image on the front on top of some vintage music design paper which I carried out on all the surfaces.  Having it offset like that I was able to add a Heavy cream colored lace along the front edge and added 3 teal blue pearls in the image corner.  It all folds out flat when you open it up completely and you can see the kraft label sentiment on the inside that's perfect.  I had fun making this and hope you enjoy!

We've gone *WILD* at Lacy Sunshine Stamps-Join our Anything Goes Challenge

This week at Lacy Sunshine Stamps, Team A is going **WILD** and venturing into the Animal Kingdom!!  One of my favorite creatures is the tall, graceful Giraffe. Such a beautiful animal with such a adorable face and that Crazy Long Black Tongue--eeks!  Well Heather Valentin created some cute "animals" and this one is called Giraffe Boo and can be found in her shop in a set.
For this card I added my Copic colored cutie to some unique papers-a giraffe "paper" that actually is printed on some type of open fiber material.  Then there is the woven handmade Grass/jungle like paper that is very heavily textured medium.   I found some interlocking banner/chevron cardstock stickers in my stash and it matched so perfectly!  I fancy-cut the bottom edge of my image so it looked like she was overhanging the dividing edge of the card.  I used some speckled antique-like paper-this could even look a little like skin!  Come join us in our latest bi-weekly challenge-we'd love to see your creations!

Woodland Enchantress posting at Lacy Sunshine Stamps

I've been playing with a great image called Champion Woodland Enchantress from Lacy Sunshine Stamps.  I so enjoyed all her "nature" features what with the mushroom, spores, moss, and butterflies.
Now anyone that knows me...I'm a Libra...knows that I like to have everything balanced.  So it was a stretch to angle the finished image and then do the opposite with the design paper from Graphic 45 underneath.  But I do love it!  I placed this cutie on to of a stone wall as she just looked like she should sit on something!  Then I added some multi-colored Flower soft in the Spring line.  Take a look at the background paper-it's a heavy patterned handmade paper in a beautiful loden green.  Loved using it! On the inside we have offset papers again with a Get well Sentiment-can always use those!!  Hope you like and thanks for visiting.

It's Mardi Gras time at Lacy Sunshine Stamps Blog Challenge!

With the beginning of Mardi Gras soon upon us, at Lacy Sunshine Stamps we decided to celebrate the occasion!  When I think of time down in New Orleans, I think of the colors Yellow-Green-and Purple, glitter, bling, feathers, and extravagance.
I put my thinking cap on and remembered when I visited that beautiful city many years ago--thinking stone walls with moss growing on them, large trees, a starry lit sky or fireworks, and of course, the great Lacy Sunshine stamp called Fantail Enchantress.
She has wisps of feathers in her hair, diamond stickles on her wings, sitting on her wall in some courtyard.  If you look close you can see dewdrops (rhinestones) on the tree (cause it's always damp down there) with moss all around it's roots.  I used this amazing heavy cardstock that has glittered colored sections in it-could be the reflections of lights from the surrounding landmarks or maybe sparkles from the fireworks that they have!  The sentiment on the bottom says "Mon Cheri" and on the inside "Love Conquers All".  A great card for Valentines' Day
Be sure to check out all the beautiful creations at our Challenge Blog and get your entry entered-there's a great prizes!

I'm getting me some Froggin' LUV--From Lacy Sunshine!

The Theme for this month at Lacy Sunshine Stamps is all about Luvvvvvv!  The image that I was given so generously for my individual post is called Froggin' Molly and it just gives me the giggles!  It's such an adorable image, full of cuteness, fresh colors (trying to follow in our pink/red/purple color scheme), and I think, a LOVE for frogs hehe.

I used a light green plaid for the background, a fun, Spring like flower print for the mat, and the delightful image created by our Founding artist and owner, Heather Valentin was colored in Copic markers-my favorite go-to.  From the grosgrain pink ribbon I dangled an enameled green flower charm.  On the inside of the card, I used a bright frog paper with a Happy Birthday Greeting.
I invite you all to visit the Lacy Sunshine Stamps site so that you can see the multitude of various images that are available for your selection!  You won't be disappointed!

Lacy Sunshine is allll about LUV this month!

This week is all about LUVVVVV at Lacy Sunshine and we all have it in spades I'm telling you!  Focusing on pinks, reds, and purples--the colors of Passion--we began to make our creations.  I'm using  Foxglove E Enchantress and by chance, it is one of my favorite flowers...BUT one I simply can't get to grow no matter how hard I try!!!  Every year..I keep on trying...now it's just a running joke between my daughter and I.  SO, at least this way, I CAN grow this beautiful flower into my card.
I like to focus on the image so she is definitely a larger size (the beauty of digitals from Heather Valentin, creator of Lacy Sunshine) on a 6x6 card blank by The Paper Cut.  Their product is so smooth and a good weight!  I matted her with a bright pink mini polkadot cardstock and used paper lace made by a friend, thanks Pam, to trim around the edges.  I got quite a variety from her a couple years ago-she makes it by cutting strips of cardstock, using straight punches down both sides-2 different patterns.  Then when you need it you just trim to fit your creation!  It lays flat and makes it so feminine.  A sentiment and buttons trim off the front. On the inside, I used a multi-hued shimmery paper, paper heart and a great sentiment for any loved one.
NOW, the true confession is that this wasn't my first card--you know the saying about making lemonade out of lemons?  Driving home from work, I'm planning on getting my card posted, ready for the launch...when my sub-conscious kicks in and alerts me that I've used the wrong color combination...just doing what felt good with the image.  I will show you that card also because it IS adorable AND it shows the versatility of the image and how it takes on a whole different personality with different colors.

The beauty is that now I have 2 cards to share with loved ones and that is a good thing.  When coloring it, I'd made an error that couldn't be removed so I added the white Frantage as a "ruffle".
Guess the thought is that when you do make mistakes, don't let it get you down and bummed out!  Find a way to cover it up and "enhance" the end result--no one will ever know, unless you spill the beans!  Thanks for stopping by and here's to LUV!

New image from Coloring book #2 from Lacy Sunshine Stamps-Working on Christmas cards!

It's been a great time at Lacy Sunshine Stamps because the owner, Heather Valentin, has been creating digital images up a storm for her teams and you her customers!  This cutie pie is called Emmi Loo Boo Snow Day fun and it's intricate but fun to color!  She's found individually as well in a coloring book set of 6 images in the store.  It could have just been a field of snow in the background but I chose to make it a frozen lake.  I used a lily white fine glitter called Sugar Coatings that I have had for ages.  BUT, the neat thing is that Lacy Sunshine also has multiple fine glitters in the store in several color choices.  Try them out when you can.  Using a satin ribbon, I wrapped a bank of it through the card and stuck a double looped bow on top of it.  *Notice that there are 2 icicles hanging from the bow? Some tiny white buttons and some liquid pearl for the trees accent the rest of the card.  On the inside I used my script die cut for Merry Christmas and then stamped a sentiment from Stampabilities.  Hope you like and get working on your cards.

It's Christmas Time at Lacy Sunshine Stamps~Celebrating with "Sugi Toy Soldier"

I'm so happy to showcase one of the great images in the Lacy Sunshine Stamps collections--Featuring "Sugi".  This one is called Sugi Toy Soldier and I colored her Rich in the glorious colors of Christmas.
Usually you would see the uniform done in the reds and greens of the Holidays but, when I saw this, I thought of black velvet and shimmering gold voile.  I put some Wink of Stella on the gown's petals and then used a gold metallic pen on the shoulder braids.
The background is done by coloring with a couple shades of blue copic and then, using a Q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol I dotted the wet tip all over the blue.  The more I let it rest in the spot, the larger circle it made.  A friend shared that technique with me and I really like the effect.  White chunky Frantage was used as the snowflake effect.
For the base of the card, I used a rich specialty "red velvet" paper
from Hot off the Press-SO scrumptious. For the mat behind Sugi, I used a great plaid on top of a deep green.  I placed red faceted buttons on the corners, wrapped the matted image with white sheer ribbon and tucked a border die cut of evergreen boughs under one edge after spraying it with an iridescent spray.  On the inside, I used the red velvet and plaid as the background for the Joy die cut.
I have so enjoyed this month of celebration of Christmas at Lacy Sunshine Stamps.  There are SO MANY Christmas digi images in their store to use on your projects.  They are bound to put a smile on your face and who doesn't want to start the day like that!  Hope to see your creations soon!

Christmastime at Lacy Sunshine Stamps! Bargains in the Store!

I'm so in love with this wonderful image for Christmas from Lacy Sunshine Stamps!!  The image is called Eleanor and Pickles Decking the Halls.  I love using pinks and silver for the Holidays and this was my perfect chance.
I used some gorgeous pink and silver foil snowflake printed paper from Kaisercraft over top of a shimmery pink mat called Azalea from The Paper Cut.  BUT, it was all in an attempt to Showcase this adorable digital!  Eleanor and Pickles are surely in a Festive Mood!  Heather Valentin, the owner of Lacy Sunshine Stamps, designs images with deep folds and luscious hair so it gives you opportunities to do some realistic folds etc.  I accented each corner with a snowflake brad and used a snowflake die cut from a Memory Box die, angled it in the corners and topped it with a row of baby rhinestones.  On the inside, I used some sheet music paper and placed some silver foil die cuts saying Merry Christmas.
I urge all of you that aren't aware of the VAST image library you can find at Lacy Sunshine stamps that you hurry and visit!  There's a new launch of a coloring book with her images that's quite a bargain!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Lacy Sunshine Stamps

I love this time of year when the air is getting brisk and the pretty decorations are getting put up around the homes everywhere.  I've been lovingly coloring up a storm with my Lacy Sunshine Digital Stamps in anticipation of my card making for Christmas.  The image I'm using today is called Rory's Christmas Presents-you can only find Rory images at Lacy Sunshine stamps as she was created by the talented Founder, Heather Valentin.  I just love her big-eyed look-there are many people that copy this look, but Lacy Sunshine is the original store!
I used some gorgeous ornament paper from Kaiserkraft, some soft blue glossy dot paper as a mat, and then a simple soft blue bow with a die cut of evergreen tucked underneath.  Simple but classy.
On the inside, I used some silver frosted snowflake paper and then, as I always do, finished it off with a sentiment.
Come over and check the store out here--Heather has a great discount sale going on with money saving discounts!
