New August Release from Doodle Pantry is SOARING to the top of the charts!

I love this fun digital group called Flying Hi from Doodle Pantry~It's one set among MANY of the new Releases ready for your pleasure on August 1st.  Matter of fact, this set is FREE with a purchase from the Doodle Pantry Store!  I love all the papers, sentiments, and digitals that you get to work with.  For some reason, Laurie's Doodle Pantry images just make me want to work with paper piecing and fancy cuts!
I elevated several parts of the wings, landing gears and put a brad through the extra propeller for some pop.
Because the images come in jpg's and png's, on the inside of the card I was able to layer some black airplane silhouettes up in the sky and change their sizes, layer the solid papers to make an inside liner and mat
-the beauty of using digitals!  The sentiment "What's up" came from an April Release called Jiggles Giraffe and seemed very appropriate! Added a few cloud die cuts and I'm so pleased with this card!
Be sure to check out everyone's creative efforts on the DT to launch this release-you won't be disappointed.  AND then come back at 12:00 to enter in our month long challenge!  We can't wait to see you there! Current challenge has no featured image, instead a theme(s) and 3 winners chosen.

Delicious Doodles is BLOSSOMING at Seems a Little Sketchy this week!

Oh I might be back among the living today--My humble apologies to all the ladies at Seems a Little Sketchy for my late post!  There was some stomach flu going around our area and this weekend must have been my turn.
I put together this card with a great image from Delicious Doodles called Blossom several days ago using this unique sketch from SALS and then couldn't crawl to the computer!  I rotated the design and then used clear dew drops for my "flags" at the top-blue satin ribbon for the band at the bottom.  I adore this image so I die cut the embossed card front all the way through so that it would focus on the image/coloring.  A complimentary softer background paper is in the inside and then you can see the rest of the image! There are several different "styles" of these gorgeous gals at DD so go and take a look!  You won't regret it!

I'm CAMPING out at Doodle Pantry for some Ideas!

I think this would be a great card to send to your "little camper" while they're away from home at Summer Camp! It's made using the Happy Trails Camper set from Doodle Pantry, newly released in July.  From the great woodland paper, to all the camping accessories that are included in the set--it's all very inspiring!  I added the white shape to represent the moon, piled on the sleeping rolls-popping one up for dimension.  Put a little sand colored Flower Soft around the Camp Fire.  The sentiments shown as well as the solid papers are all included in the set.  Today is the last day to get this set FREE with a purchase from Doodle Pantry-and they have so many options for you to choose from!  Thanks for stopping by!

New Birthday card Layout!

I really can't take credit for this creation I've just made--I saw something similar at Pinterest and fell in love.  So much so I went to the internet to purchase the Darcie folder that had the corner butterfly embossed scene.  Luckily, I had some beautiful butterfly die cuts from some dear friends at Your Scrapbook Place 'cause they just Make the card POP!  Then I put some pearls on them for accents.  The inside has a complimentary floral print and a stamped sentiment.  I always need Birthday cards and am so happy to have some new ideas for them-so many different possibilities!  Thanks for looking and hope you come back real soon!

Let's get aROUND to entering Squigglefly's latest Challenge!

Yep that's right~ This week's Squigglefly challenge for Rhonda's Rowdy Rascals is to make a round card!  Some people, like I've been in the past, are a little intimidated by making circle cards-that it's a little harder to get items spaced around it.  But we'd love to see anything that you come up with!!
The image that I've using this week is called Bird Watcher by James Horvath.  I'm having such fun using his wild and sometimes wacky images!  I thought of this cute bluebird paper by Frances Meyer and used it on a scalloped circle scored card blank by The Paper Cut.  That's the company that I also got my shaker large circle pouch for my seed beads from.  They have a lot of different sizes.  The butterfly and pearl accent are from my stash.  The set also includes some binoculars which I used on the inside along with a sentiment from my computer.  Come on and join in the fun-the winner gets a free image from the vast group of artists!

I'm OVER THE EDGE at Squigglefly this week-Great Challenge!

This week's Squigglefly challenge is called "Over the Edge."  Something on your card must extend over the edge of your card.  That could include your image, and embellishment, or even some lace.  Check out all the wonderful examples below.  We'd love for you to use a Squigglefly image, to be prize eligible it's required, but everyone is welcome to play along.
I used this adorable image called Hungry Dog by James Horvath .  This reminds me so much of OUR dogs waiting around last week when we had a cook-out for my husband's birthday!  He is so cute!  There are a lot of new artists at the Squigglefly shop and James is one with a lot of cute images.  I've extended the card by placing the Grill off the top corner and by making some "smoke vapors" coming off the hot coals that I'm sure are in the grill!  Come on over and play along with Holley's Hobbists as they show you their creations.  Have fun!

New DT team announced for Southern Girls Challenge--Welcome aboard Gals!

I'd like to welcome all the new DT team members to our little home away from home.  This term there were so many great entries that Lou, our leader from NZ, couldn't pass up the talent sooooo she just expanded our 2 teams!  What fun~we're an eclectic group of artists with ones that like page layouts, creations with LOTS of texture and materials, cardmakers, framed pieces--so many options we now have.  Our 2 Teams take turns every 3 weeks and we've had some great sponsors and prizes.  Please if you have time, check out the blogs listed on the side bar for some great ideas from around the world.  It's amazing how everyone has a different interpretation of Scrapbooking in different countries.  So Glad to Have you All on the SGC Team!

A Little "Cookie" for me at Seems a Little Sketchy's Challenge this week!

Our sponsor this week at Seems a Little Sketchy is Robyn's Fetish.  They have been so tremendous to us throughout the year!  This is the sketch we're to use on this 2-week challenge and as you can see, I've turned mine for a different look.  I've got a granddaughter that loves to cook, as does her Dad, so this might be a "whatcha doin'" card heading her way.

This image is called My Little Cook and I colored her with copics, the circle accents are mounted on mini b&w dot paper and are actually clip art images from the internet. I used internet font and a cooking set of stickers for the inside interest.
We'd love for you to come and visit and JOIN in our challenge--the winner will get 3 digital images from Robyn's great site!  So well worth the effort!  See you there!

Baby Boy Congratulations Card using Doodle Pantry!!

Friends of our sent the cutest Baby Boy birth announcement-he was sitting up in a fishing creel basket with a pole and a crocheted fish.  So adorable!!  The perfect chance to use one of the digital bundles at Doodle Pantry called Baby Shoes for my congratulations card~I fancy cut the shoes out and used pop dots on them.  All the patterned papers come with the set.  I used a Kraft cardstock from The Paper Cut as a mat-the color was perfect!

As accents, I used pastel blue dew drops and rayon seam binding.  This seam binding was originally in a dusty blue but I like to make it vintage looking sooo to do that, I cut a long length, place in a plastic bag, I spritz it with walnut ink, wad it up into a ball and seal up the bag. Later I take out the very kinked up "ribbon" and let it air dry, still in the loose pile.  You get a very variegated ribbon and it looks very vintage.  The inside shows another paper, one of the included sentiments and a cute pewter dragonfly brad.

Digi Sketch Sponsorship for Doodle Pantry~Playing along

I don't know where my head was this week!  I made this entry as Doodle Pantry DT Support for the latest challenge at Digi Sketch Challenge which started on Monday the 7th and runs through Sunday--and then I forgot to post it!  We were to follow the sketch shown with an "in the Garden" theme.  I was thrilled to join my fellow DT in the Doodle Pantry sponsorship using Bird Mothers, the background paper, image, mat, even the "ribbon" from a piece of solid paper. The great sentiments from the set were used on the front ribbon AND on the tag that slips in the side pocket of the image.  I put some eyelash fiber in the tag's eyelet and the inside has a cream liner for some thoughts of your own.
Join in the fun-the sketch makes it easier to come up with a creation!
I'm entering this card in the Digi Sketch Challenge

Squigglefly New Releases are Here!!! Come join our Challenge-USE SCRAPS!

This weekend is the official launch for new artists and their fantastic digital designs at Squigglefly!  Tam Hess provided the one I'm working with today, Fred-Miss You, and he comes with a couple of sentiments also.
The theme this week is to USE SCRAPS!!  We all have those don't we!  While the tiger patterned paper isn't a scrap, the black was-I chose to cut it into strips to use like ribbons!  And then I used the small scrap of orange cardstock as a mat for Fred's sentiment.  Inside there's a scrap of brown kraft paper that I stamped with colorbox chalk ink using one of my stash stamps!  I think this will be perfect for one of my Grandkids in NJ!
Be sure to check out the Squigglefly Shop and all the new creations from all those talented artists!  We have so many unique digis offered there and if you enter the challenge this week, you could win a FREE digital from the shop!

Make a Splash theme at Doodle Pantry Challenge this month AND JULY Launch!

There's this great release at Doodle Pantry called Sailing Away and it has some beautiful full sail ships, map paper, deep solid colored "paper" and various sentiments.  It's wonderful for those Masculine cards we all need!  And thought it was appropriate for the "Splash" theme!

I've always loved paper piecing so saw a great opportunity to fancy cut some of the sails, roll them around a pencil for the curve I needed, and attached them in strategic places-hope you can tell from the close up picture!  I wanted to create the feel of the ship riding the waves so extended it past the shortened card front.  In the inside, I used the map digital paper and then used the Lost At Sea sentiment included with the kit.  Using the Blackadder font from my computer I added the phrase "Without You" to the sentiment and now I have a verse that's lovey dovey!  I'd gotten a Wave die a few months back so went and grabbed it and made some darker blue curled waves--wanted some froth on the waves so added some flower soft to the curl..  Ahhh I can smell the sea breeze already!
The challenge for July will have a theme choice of “Christmas” OR “Make a splash” (images with water or water creatures….. up to creative interpretation).  So this means that you can join the challenge with a project of either one of the theme choices. You can only enter once though.
These's also a SALE going on over at the Doodle Pantry Shop: 40% off the entire store from July 1 through 7 (sales always EXCLUDE fundraiser products, bundles of 2 or more products and gift certificates).
Come over and join us on our challenge and see all the fantastic creations.  While you are seeing our release posts early in the day, the Challenge doesn't start until 12 noon EST.

Lacy Sunshine is sponsoring us at Southern Girls Challenge-Theme is You Spin me ROUND

At Southern Girls Challenge we have challenges every three weeks.  This time AROUND, the theme is "You Spin me ROUND Baby" so it could be circle shapes, dots, buttons, die cuts...let you imagination go wild.  I'm using a Sponsored provided image from Lacy Sunshine called Emily-Spring Ladybugs which I adore!  I have so many circle shapes on my creation--polka-dot embossed paper, ladybug dots on her hair bow, even buttons across the bottom of the card.  I cut back the front edge a little so that I could place some paper lace from my stash.  I just love the way it always looks so feminine!  This lime green chevron paper looks so great inside with my stamped sentiment-it will make a great Birthday card for a friend!
