Always Anything Goes at Craft Your Passion-This week it's Little Blue Button Stamps!

What a fun card I got to make at Craft Your Passion today~ I'm using an image from a site new to me called Little Blue Button Stamps and this image is called Button in a Frame.  The winner of our Challenge at CYP will get a $10 gift certificate to their store and the GREAT thing is that we're Always Anything Goes!
I wanted some FUN spring colors on this card so a lime green speckled DP with a purple gingham as a mat to the image were right up my line.  Then, what luck!  I found a variegated long fiber with all the colors in it and tied a enameled red ladybug on a white flower onto it--see if you can spot it?!  I tried a new technique on this with my sponge dauber and used it for the dirt and grass by Button's feet.  I like the effect of it!  On the inside, I lined both sides of the card with a light green foliage and a matted friendship sentiment.  Can't wait to send this off to someone special so they get a smile on their face.  Come join us for our Challenge!!

It's SKETCH time at Crafting When You Can-sponsored by Lacy Sunshine Stamps

This week at Crafting When You Can (CWWC) we are being sponsored by Lacy Sunshine Stamps.  The Twist with our Challenge #115 is that you are to use a provided SKETCH-see example.  I got to use the lovely Orchid Enchantress and was thrilled because it was one of the images I didn't already have!  I always work on coloring the images first when working with a sketch and hope that the colors that I've used with work/match some of the many design papers that I have in my stash.  The inside of the orchid is actually a reddish deep purple and I love the warm yummy...maize... color of the petals.  That's a perfect word for the color!  So even though the purples and the creamy yellow/loden greens don't seem to work I was so pleased with the colors.  I used some white floral die cut sprays, coloring them green with my copics then added the purple button touch.  I put clear acrylic drops on the leaves and petals for dew drops.  On the inside I used the double sided paper so it coordinated with the panels in the front.
I hope you will join us over at Crafting When We Can and have lots of fun!

It's Moppet Time at Lacy Sunshine Stamps! Mine's a little bit of Vintage.

This month we celebrate the Moppet's here at Lacy Sunshine-they are creations of artist Heather Valentin and come in many forms as you will see throughout March.  The one I chose to use is Camile Melancholy Moppet and I especially liked her because of the violin in her hand.
I come from a family that always had Music in the house and learned to love all forms of it.  My Dad was a college professor that taught Opera and singing in NC and once had a contestant in the Miss North Carolina Pageant.  We listened to Classical as well as folk and soft rock. My brothers were both in the Band at school and I took piano and voice lessons.  My favorite memory is when we would go around to all the neighborhood around Christmas caroling-the great thing is with 5 members, we could each carry a part and had awesome harmony.  Good times.
Well Camile brought all those memories up to the front.  I love her rich looking clothing and hope I've colored it to look like velvet...that was my vision anyway!  Using a Z fold style card, I mounted a triple matted Camile image on the front on top of some vintage music design paper which I carried out on all the surfaces.  Having it offset like that I was able to add a Heavy cream colored lace along the front edge and added 3 teal blue pearls in the image corner.  It all folds out flat when you open it up completely and you can see the kraft label sentiment on the inside that's perfect.  I had fun making this and hope you enjoy!

Always Anything Goes at Craft Your Passion! Geraniums from Becky's Place is the Star for me!

I am SO looking forward to seeing some Geraniums this Spring-it's coming, I know it is!!!  It was beginning to get warmer today in Illinois and I can just smell the spicy scent of these beauties from the digital artist at Becky's Place!  She is the sponsor of this 2 week Challenge at Craft Your Passion where it's Always Anything Goes!
Isn't this dainty thing adorable?  I love all colors of plant but I'm partial to pinks.  And if you're lucky to find the ones with a little white edging on the leaves-Bonus!  My daughter and I love to go Garden Shopping in the Spring and I like these cause they will survive the hot summers and drought like conditions you sometimes find in my state.  Well enough about that-this image is colored with Copics, I matted it with a hot pink cardstock and then trimmed the edge with a cream colored paper lace.  I tried to replicate the look of mulch on the brown dirt.  Added a dimensional butterfly and a die cut that I stamped with a sentiment!  Whew and it went together in a snap-must have been in the zone withe this pretty!  On the inside I used a grungy pink check paper and stamped another sentiment, leaving a lot of room for personalizing.  Come join in the fun at Craft Your Passion! The winner gets 3 digital images or 1 digital set of choice from her store!

We've gone *WILD* at Lacy Sunshine Stamps-Join our Anything Goes Challenge

This week at Lacy Sunshine Stamps, Team A is going **WILD** and venturing into the Animal Kingdom!!  One of my favorite creatures is the tall, graceful Giraffe. Such a beautiful animal with such a adorable face and that Crazy Long Black Tongue--eeks!  Well Heather Valentin created some cute "animals" and this one is called Giraffe Boo and can be found in her shop in a set.
For this card I added my Copic colored cutie to some unique papers-a giraffe "paper" that actually is printed on some type of open fiber material.  Then there is the woven handmade Grass/jungle like paper that is very heavily textured medium.   I found some interlocking banner/chevron cardstock stickers in my stash and it matched so perfectly!  I fancy-cut the bottom edge of my image so it looked like she was overhanging the dividing edge of the card.  I used some speckled antique-like paper-this could even look a little like skin!  Come join us in our latest bi-weekly challenge-we'd love to see your creations!

Star Stampz is Sponsoring Challenge #114 at Crafting When We Can! Use Washi Tape!

This week over at Crafting When We Can, we are launching Challenge #114, sponsored by Star Stampz!  The twist is that we want you to use Washi Tape~  Now I know you are thinking that you aren't seeing that on my card?  However, this denim tape was described by The Paper Studio as washi tape.  I was just glad it went so well with the digital image I used called Rain.
The umbrella design paper in the background is embossed and has glitter accents.  I colored the image with Copics and love the "tude" she has!  Besides the denim fishtail banners at the top, I used some gorgeous crystal teardrops for raindrops.  Placed them along the edge of the umbrellas.  I used a very compact sentiment perfect for a Rain Card by KKS.  For the liner on the inside, I used this great rain "verse"-Rain Rain go away....design paper, then I used a white label diecut, stamped with another sentiment from the KKS series and added an enamel dot for some color!  Crafting When We Can is a great Challenge that runs for 2 weeks and we would LOVE to see your creations!

Guest Designer at All Dressed Up this week!! SO HONORED!

I've always admired the Digital Image site, All Dressed Up, and recently had an opportunity to enter a challenge they had with the theme Hearts.  I was truly honored to have my entry chosen as one of the Top Three... which then turned into an Invite--eek!---to be the Guest Designer at the next Challenge on March 2nd!  I'm Over The Moon to say the least.
This is my entry for that Great Honor, using I Love My Puppy-in love from the first moment I saw it in the All Dressed Up Etsy Shop HERE.  This dress I colored reminds me of a sundress I had back in my childhood that had these intricate "medallions" on it similar to the blue ones in the coloring.  She has such a sunny personality I had to put her in the clouds!  I matted that image on some gorgeous sunny dp- also used in the liner- and I took some baby red ric-rac and wrapped the edge.  As I tend to do, overthink the designing, I wanted to show this really neat raindrop paper that I have in my stash (sunny/rain) and used some floral die cuts from my stash (colored to match the yellows), topped off with a button(favorite embellie) and some embroidery floss.  The perfect stamp says "I'm Here Rain or Shine" from KKK.  Inside, I kept it simple using the Umbrella and sentiment stamp that says "Wishing you Brighter Days".
This is a card very special to me cause it will be going to a very Dear Niece that is recovering from surgery and is now on the road to recovery.  It was just a perfect time to be asked to use such a great image from All Dressed Up and I thank them for the opportunity to do so!  Check them out-I'm sure you will find the perfect image for YOUR life!

March Releases are now Ready at Sasayaki Glitter! Check them out!

It's time for the new March Releases at Sasayaki Glitter so I'd like to present "Yours Only".  Isn't he adorable standing there with his bouquet  for his Friend?!
I colored him with Copics, put a lime green dp behind to mat him and then found this neat circle paper with a dark brown background to use as the accent paper.  I remembered some large circle eyelets, so picked some appropriate ones and mounted them through the front panel.  Printed out a sentiment and attached an enamel dot.  On the liner in the inside, I used scraps to fill the page and then did another sentiment stamp.  This could be used for so many occasions-So Cute!
