Vintage Happy Birthday Card using Sherri Baldy's Sweet Lil' Things Img 5471

 I'm using an image on this card from Sherri Baldy's "Sweet Lil' Things" collection.  This is Image 5471 and I did her in warm Copics and earthy hair colors.  Using 2 sided paper from KaiserCraft's Fairy Garden group, I was able to use them throughout the card.
I like to purchase laces and then cut out individual pieces from the whole that I can apply on the greeting cards that I make.  Great paper combination from Kaisercraft to keep the Vintage feel, along with the cream pearls.  On the inside, you can see more closely the 2-sided paper and then the sentiment gold accent.

Wintery mix for January using Sherri Baldy's Nutcracker Img 5284

Well in Illinois, there were Winter Storm warnings out for this weekend and I must say, I was kind-of rubbing my hands together--a chance to get house-bound with lots of Sherri Baldy's images to color and play with!
Because I was feeling a little "Snowy"  I colored up one of Sherri's "Nutcracker" images:  this ones is Img 5284, Nutcracker the Gift.  I ALWAYS love her wintery scenes!
With the vintage coloring, pink and cream are one of my favorites!  I used a white Nuvo for the pearl dot effect-really like the control of it and will get more! An accent of metallic gold for the Crown and Chunky White Frantage for the snow.  Mixed some sweater paper with some foil paper for some triple layers and a trim piece with sentiments.
On the inside, I repeated the Blank textured paper with pale pink snowflakes and used a matching sentiment and pink foil tree to complete the card.
I hope you like my effort.  It has been a long way back for me from 2018 to now and with Sherri's help furnishing such beautiful creations, I'll be off to a good start!  Thanks for visiting!

I Chose to use the image called Day Dreaming and, as I have  a teenage Granddaughter, I gravitate towards these especially!  Wendy Burns has many of them in her Etsy Store.  Green and Purple is one of my favorite color combos-I needed a contrast color in order for the background treatment to show up properly so chose a warm vintage brown copic color.  In order to achieve this whimsical effect, it's made with using rubbing alcohol and Q-tips!  Mounted on a creamy yellow crackle paper, accented with metal button brads, using a vintage stamp design paper and stamped with a clear sentiment on front,  I love it!

After coloring this cutie with Copics, I used Aged Rose Frantage embossing enamel from Stampendous around her, heated it up and ooo'd and awww'd! I mounted a deep pink polkadot embossed cardstock as a mat, added a blinged out Butterfly to her flower and gems to her vintage inspired design paper.  I used a paper lace strip combined with a perky striped paper at the bottom-will have to use this again 'cause I just love it!!
On the inside liner it's the beautiful stripes again, joined with a die cut frame and a KKK stamp-I love how complete these these sentiments make the cards!

It's Moppet Time at Lacy Sunshine Stamps! Mine's a little bit of Vintage.

 This month we celebrate the Moppet's here at Lacy Sunshine-they are creations of artist Heather Valentin and come in many forms as you will see throughout March.  The one I chose to use is Camile Melancholy Moppet and I especially liked her because of the violin in her hand.
I come from a family that always had Music in the house and learned to love all forms of it.  My Dad was a college professor that taught Opera and singing in NC and once had a contestant in the Miss North Carolina Pageant.  We listened to Classical as well as folk and soft rock. My brothers were both in the Band at school and I took piano and voice lessons.  My favorite memory is when we would go around to all the neighborhood around Christmas caroling-the great thing is with 5 members, we could each carry a part and had awesome harmony.  Good times.
Well Camile brought all those memories up to the front.  I love her rich looking clothing and hope I've colored it to look like velvet...that was my vision anyway!  Using a Z fold style card, I mounted a triple matted Camile image on the front on top of some vintage music design paper which I carried out on all the surfaces.  Having it offset like that I was able to add a Heavy cream colored lace along the front edge and added 3 teal blue pearls in the image corner.  It all folds out flat when you open it up completely and you can see the kraft label sentiment on the inside that's perfect.  I had fun making this and hope you enjoy!

The image I'm using is called "Pearls" and I love this wild mane of hair and the beautiful face. I love the color combo of browns and pinks so found a complimentary heritage-like paper in 2 styles.  I used an olive green paper lace piece with a heavy cream lace placed on top. I used white liquid pearls to accent the earrings and ropes of pearls.  Finished off the inside with a Happy Birthday stamp on a die cut.  Oh and on the front papers, they were nice and heavy so I distressed the edges with a Tim Holtz distressing tool.  Love the vintage look...  Please come and play with us in our 2 week challenge and show us your creations!  We get such great ideas from our guests!

An April Release Masculine set from The Doodle Pantry-Awesome!!

 I just love this masculine set from Doodle Pantry-there are so many different ways you could use it!
I've been needing more Birthday cards so this time I decided to layer the images & sentiments as they are png's.  The design paper, watch, and sentiment are all on one layer from DP-it's great!  Then I wanted to offset the underneath layer-it's a shimmery, wheat colored, flecked natural cardstock from The Paper Cut-great weight and texture. I wrapped some black & cream baker's twine around it and used some buttons from my friend Holley.  Added a vintage style ribbon medallion and it's ready for some lucky gentleman!

Squigglefly's Springtime Challenge is "Flutterby Butterfly"

The Squigglefly rules this week are to please add a butterfly somewhere on your creation.  This can include a butterfly in your image, on your printed paper, or as an embellishment (like a brad, sticker, diecut, bling,...). We'd love for you to use a Squigglefly image, to be prize eligible it's required, but everyone is welcome to play along.  I just love this image called Floral Baby Boot by Elizabeta Kushner but I can see it being used for so many different themes!  I like this vintage style-works real well with the coloring!  Accents of vintage dyed rayon seam binding, a die-namics round die cut, some distressing with a Tim Holtz tool, using the double sided design paper, and of course the addition of 2 butterflies that were gifts from friends!
