New image from Coloring book #2 from Lacy Sunshine Stamps-Working on Christmas cards!

It's been a great time at Lacy Sunshine Stamps because the owner, Heather Valentin, has been creating digital images up a storm for her teams and you her customers!  This cutie pie is called Emmi Loo Boo Snow Day fun and it's intricate but fun to color!  She's found individually as well in a coloring book set of 6 images in the store.  It could have just been a field of snow in the background but I chose to make it a frozen lake.  I used a lily white fine glitter called Sugar Coatings that I have had for ages.  BUT, the neat thing is that Lacy Sunshine also has multiple fine glitters in the store in several color choices.  Try them out when you can.  Using a satin ribbon, I wrapped a bank of it through the card and stuck a double looped bow on top of it.  *Notice that there are 2 icicles hanging from the bow? Some tiny white buttons and some liquid pearl for the trees accent the rest of the card.  On the inside I used my script die cut for Merry Christmas and then stamped a sentiment from Stampabilities.  Hope you like and get working on your cards.

Using Florina from Art by Miran for my DT Submission Post!

I've been privledged to serve on several Design Teams during the years and every so often was thrilled that the sponsor would be Art by Miran!  Ohhh to get my hands on those wonderful images.  Always artistic and graceful, they just put a smile on my face and were a joy to place on my projects!
This is one that I've particularly enjoyed coloring called Florina.  While she is definitely the focal point of the card, I wanted to use colors that would compliment her. On the inside of the card, again a beautiful floral print-great for a Birthday card and Florina's gorgeous green eyes.
The reason that I'm posting this digital from the past is that this great site is announcing a DT call and I would like to be considered.  Their images are always beautiful and would be a joy to work with-I feel that it would be a privilege to showcase them on any of my projects.  Hopefully, they will think I'm worthy of joining their group!  Thanks for visiting my blogspot!

Always Anything Goes at Craft your Passion--Last one for the year-come join us!!

I'm featuring a stamp set from DeeDee's Digis shop this post--called Gingerbread Holidays.  It's for Craft Your Passion where this post will be the last one for the year.  This challenge is Always Anything Goes and we'd like you to join us!!
With Gingerbread Holidays, You not only get your b&w images but pre-colored ones as well so that you can layer them as png's.  I used the backgrounds that I already had from a freebie to make the green bg and then slimmed down the red & white striped one to make it like a ribbon.  I fancy cut the 2 gingerbread figures and used dots to elevate them.  On the inside I did much the same method and used sentiments that come with the set on the inside and outside.

It's Christmas Time at Lacy Sunshine Stamps~Celebrating with "Sugi Toy Soldier"

I'm so happy to showcase one of the great images in the Lacy Sunshine Stamps collections--Featuring "Sugi".  This one is called Sugi Toy Soldier and I colored her Rich in the glorious colors of Christmas.
Usually you would see the uniform done in the reds and greens of the Holidays but, when I saw this, I thought of black velvet and shimmering gold voile.  I put some Wink of Stella on the gown's petals and then used a gold metallic pen on the shoulder braids.
The background is done by coloring with a couple shades of blue copic and then, using a Q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol I dotted the wet tip all over the blue.  The more I let it rest in the spot, the larger circle it made.  A friend shared that technique with me and I really like the effect.  White chunky Frantage was used as the snowflake effect.
For the base of the card, I used a rich specialty "red velvet" paper
from Hot off the Press-SO scrumptious. For the mat behind Sugi, I used a great plaid on top of a deep green.  I placed red faceted buttons on the corners, wrapped the matted image with white sheer ribbon and tucked a border die cut of evergreen boughs under one edge after spraying it with an iridescent spray.  On the inside, I used the red velvet and plaid as the background for the Joy die cut.
I have so enjoyed this month of celebration of Christmas at Lacy Sunshine Stamps.  There are SO MANY Christmas digi images in their store to use on your projects.  They are bound to put a smile on your face and who doesn't want to start the day like that!  Hope to see your creations soon!

Christmastime at Lacy Sunshine Stamps! Bargains in the Store!

I'm so in love with this wonderful image for Christmas from Lacy Sunshine Stamps!!  The image is called Eleanor and Pickles Decking the Halls.  I love using pinks and silver for the Holidays and this was my perfect chance.
I used some gorgeous pink and silver foil snowflake printed paper from Kaisercraft over top of a shimmery pink mat called Azalea from The Paper Cut.  BUT, it was all in an attempt to Showcase this adorable digital!  Eleanor and Pickles are surely in a Festive Mood!  Heather Valentin, the owner of Lacy Sunshine Stamps, designs images with deep folds and luscious hair so it gives you opportunities to do some realistic folds etc.  I accented each corner with a snowflake brad and used a snowflake die cut from a Memory Box die, angled it in the corners and topped it with a row of baby rhinestones.  On the inside, I used some sheet music paper and placed some silver foil die cuts saying Merry Christmas.
I urge all of you that aren't aware of the VAST image library you can find at Lacy Sunshine stamps that you hurry and visit!  There's a new launch of a coloring book with her images that's quite a bargain!

Always Anything Goes at Craft Your Passion-Sponsored by Stitchy Bear!

This week, as we start to approach the Christmas Season, we at Craft Your Passion (where it is Always Anything Goes) are being sponsored by Stitchy Bear Digi Outlet.  There are so many pre-colored images to choose from as well as B&W.  I picked this adorable image called Little Siannie Christmas Colour Stamp.  During this hectic time of year, it really can help put a card together for that special person when you already have a colored image or scene.
I used some digital papers for the layers, even using one of the papers re-sized so that it looks like a ribbon.  Placed the png image on the papers, and then separately printed a sentiment out, matted it and added a white/snow covered evergreen die cut.
Please join us in the challenge and show your festive spirit!  Stitchy Bear is offering  a choice of 3 digi stamps from store up to the value of $10 to the winner.  Great way to expand your digi library!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Lacy Sunshine Stamps

I love this time of year when the air is getting brisk and the pretty decorations are getting put up around the homes everywhere.  I've been lovingly coloring up a storm with my Lacy Sunshine Digital Stamps in anticipation of my card making for Christmas.  The image I'm using today is called Rory's Christmas Presents-you can only find Rory images at Lacy Sunshine stamps as she was created by the talented Founder, Heather Valentin.  I just love her big-eyed look-there are many people that copy this look, but Lacy Sunshine is the original store!
I used some gorgeous ornament paper from Kaiserkraft, some soft blue glossy dot paper as a mat, and then a simple soft blue bow with a die cut of evergreen tucked underneath.  Simple but classy.
On the inside, I used some silver frosted snowflake paper and then, as I always do, finished it off with a sentiment.
Come over and check the store out here--Heather has a great discount sale going on with money saving discounts!

It's the last Hurrah at Sweet Pea Stamps- Come join us as a Thank You for all the good times!

I'm sure that you have been following the "news" that as of the end of November, Sweet Pea Stamps will be closing their doors for good.  The last rubber will have been pressed, the wonderful artists will be moving on to other venues to showcase their creations, and our sweet, kind, courageous leader will have a more routine way of life and will be on the road to a healthier life style.  She took me in on her Design Team and I found a wonderful second home.  Lynette, I will always be grateful for the      time that I've spent here with you.

We, the DT, wanted to make these last 2 challenges ALL about Thank Yous or a Thanksgiving theme.  Because we are so Thankful for being here on a regular basis!  I chose an image that I feel conveys my sadness for leaving called Into the Light by Karen Middleton.  I will always remember this image as one of my favorites as it was my very first attempt to color Black hair.  I love the color combination of blues and browns so have combined some weathered wood paper with some heritage style brown mat.  I love the sheerness of the taupe brown lace that I added at the side and added the circular die cut.  Inside is a verse that I think conveys my heartfelt feelings for this Digital & rubber stamp site-Sweet Pea Stamps leaves behind many happy customers and friends world wide.  It's great to know that Lynette's hard work saw such a Dream come true.  Please join us and let us see all YOUR Special projects!  We'd love to be inspired!  Signing off as an SPS Design Team Member,  Carolyn

It's Always Anything Goes at Craft Your Passion! The East Wind is the Sponsor this week!

This week at Craft Your Passion we are continuing with our theme, Always Anything Goes!  I'm sure many of you have Gorgeous Holiday cards or projects to show us.
This week, we are thrilled to have The East Wind as our sponsor and this image is called  Christmas Wreath with Sleepy Cats and Ribbons.  I put it on a 6x6 card, and used it on a Bo Bunny tree paper from their Sleigh Ride Collection.  There's a sentiment embellishment for the corner, pink pearl rope as an accent on the side and chunky white frantage over the whole thing!  I also used liquid pearl and silver gel pen for some bling.   I have just the perfect friend to give this kitty card to!
We can't wait to see your beautiful inspirations-the winner will get 3 images of choice from the East Wind store!

Thanksgiving, a time to be Blessed at Lacy Sunshine Stamps

This is of course the month of Thanksgiving...being grateful for all that we and our loved ones have...of being Thankful for our Friends and Family.  Signs of Harvest and our nations' Bounty leave us very Blessed.
This month, we at Lacy Sunshine Stamps welcome you all into our little homes, our "blogs", to share in this Fellowship and we share our projects that depict the Bounty of the country.
For my project, I chose Sunflower Indian  Maiden to use-one of a new Indian series that was created by the Founding Artist, Heather Valentin.  The beautiful details of her outfit, flowers, lovely facial expression makes her a real stunner.  I color my images with Copics and have included a recipe card to list them for your pleasure.  I just loved the use of a Kraft card blank to keep the total effect "natural".  I mixed that with some designer papers with a burlap weave and multiple-colored leaves-placed strips of the reverse of the leaf paper on the corners of the image.  It almost looks like beading don't you think?  I wrapped the mat with some hemp cording and added my own pewter sunflower charm.

On the inside of the card,I stamped a Thanksgiving verse, accented by many of the papers I already used.
THANK you for stopping by my home away from home.  We all hope each of our Lacy Sunshine family and friends will take a moment to be thankful for all the blessings that have been bestowed upon them.  Remember how lucky you are to have all that you have.  Come back and visit a little while longer!

We are so Thankful for Sweet Pea Stamps....It's a bittersweet month ahead

As I'm sure you may have heard, we will be only having 2 more One Sweet Challenge with this wonderful site, Sweet Pea Stamps, before Lynette closes the doors at the end of the month.  She has had such amazing artists and has been such a generous owner, she will be missed greatly.
So. It has been decided, very fittingly, that this month will be all about Thankfulness or  Thanksgiving.  With that in mind, I'm using an image called Thanksgiving by Regan Kubecek.  Loving the Fall colors, embossed shiny leaves, thick baker's twine, and an appropriate Stampin' Up sentiment.  On the inside I used the flip side of the leaf paper, an accent paper and a great Thanksgiving stamp.
Every time I use this image, I will remember all the good times we, the Design Team, have had with SPS and our Challenges.  We hope that you will all want to take this final lap with us and get inspired with the creations on the Challenge.  Look forward to seeing you there.

Anything Goes at Craft Your Passion-Rick St. Dennis is the sponsor!

At Craft Your Passion this week as always, It's Anything Goes and Rick St. Dennis has been gracious to be our sponsor!  I'm always in need of Get Well cards so I'm using the image called It's All About Balance.  What an adorable clown to cheer a person up!
I used an oldie but goodie paper called Purple Sponged from Paper Pizazz.  Then used a technique I recently learned that gives a bubble effect to the background color.  The clown is colored with copics and I added a Stampin' Up sentiment and my favorite accents-buttons.  I finished the inside up with some complimentary paper and Best Wishes stamp.
I hope that we'll see your creations on our challenge-the winner gets 2 single images from Rick's store!  What fun!

Fall is more than Falling Leaves at Lacy Sunshine-Featuring Rory

I love the smell of Fall- cool nights, gorgeous leaves, crisp sunshine filled days and decorating with Scarecrows, oats, corn husks...it's a great time to send a card made with the many Autumn images from Lacy Sunshine Stamps!  The one I'm using on this one is called Scarecrow Rory and I've put the recipe card of the copics that I used to color her on this post.  Using a great leaf paper from The Paper Studio, I double matted the image and added a super big button with seed pod sprays.  I plan to use these on a lot of my cards!  Using a trick of a Design Team member, I colored in the background and then used a Qtip dipped in alcohol to daub the coloring.  Where you leave it on the color creates a washed out effect-can't wait to try this again! On the inside, I matted in layers with fall colors and textures.  The perfect stamp brought this card all together and I love the finished look.

Holiday Recipes for the latest post at Lacy Sunshine-Anything Goes Challenge!

Ummmm can you just smell the delicious baking of a Holiday Favorite, Banana Nut Bread?  Our fun began at the start of October by picking our all time favorite recipe and then creating a recipe card to share with all of our friends-YOU-on our Monthly Challenge.  The most wonderful thing is that our creative, artistic Leader Heather Valentin of Lacy Sunshine Stamps, designed new digital images that would match our recipes!!  It's an amazing thing her talent!
I digitally combined papers to frame and edit the recipe, printed them off and then attached the 2 delightful creations from Heather:  Annie Bananie Sticky Wings & Butter Anne Cookie Crumbler. They were so much fun to color with copics, keeping the colors close to the Season.  These loaves are so moist and rich in banana flavor.  Whether warmed up with a glob of butter on the slices or just cold for breakfast, they will always fill you up.  Lots of times my Mom would "stretch" the cheaper margarine by adding in a pound of real butter, whipping it in a large mixing bowl and then re-packing the mixture.  We never knew how she pinched pennies but all of her recipes were so delicious.  It's a favorite for Thanksgiving and for Christmas gift-giving to friends and neighbors.  Please come and show us YOUR favorite recipes-we'd love to drool over yours! The winner gets 2 free LS digis and some neat blog candy-literally!

Sweet Pea Stamps One Sweet Challenge wants to see Fall Colors

At One Sweet Challenge this week, We'd like to see any of your Fall creations or something appropriate for All Souls Day!  I'm really getting into the cooler nights that we're having here in Illinois.  I love Fall as long as I can see the beautiful changing colors of the leaves!
This image is in the Sweet Pea Stamps Store and is called Forgiveness by Karen Middleton.  She is one of the talented artists that you can find in the Store-they carry both rubber stamps and digitals.
I used this beautiful Fall colored paper from the Graphic 45 French Country Collection series- Deja Vu. On the inside, I used the reverse side of the paper-love doing that because you have complimentary colors and patterns.  I was lucky to have a wonderful array of flowers that match perfectly!  AND was able to use 2 stick pins to tuck into the floral group!

We hope to see Your creations soon at this 2 week challenge-you Always inspire us.  Thanks for looking!
