My card entry is done on Kraft paper with a chevron rust patterned paper panel.  I edged it with a deep red sheer ribbon and the fussy cut leaves from some fall paper stash. Tucked them in at various spots with pop dots.  I cut Emma out using the Renascence die from Spellbinders and special cut the dog so he could be elevated later. Topped it off with a Stamp from my stash that says {You're Special} and there you have it!

Halloween Challenge on Squiggle Fly # 37

When I think of Halloween, I think of Straw mazes, carving pumpkins, decorating outdoors with Scarecrows and multi-colored mums everywhere.  Here in the Midwest, it's fun to build a bonfire and huddle around it with a warm apple cider and maybe a marshmallow or two-Yummy!
At Squiggle Fly this week, they are celebrating the wonder of the Fall season with Halloween. When you use a Squiggle Fly image like I have used, Bring on the Crows by Marla Shega, you have an opportunity to win a free digi.  They even have freebies that are available!  I used some green floral DP along with a fantastic pumpkin paper by KandCompany.  Topped with some raveled burlap made into a ribbon with threaded button accents.  I LOVE Marla's images because of the detail she puts into the digis.  Colored with copics, using spellbinder die cut, I elevated him up with pop dots.  Finishing off with a simple stamp, this will be perfect to send to my  special family!

Fall is in the air with Fred, She Said

I just love this time of year when the leaves are starting to turn, the air is crisp and the sun is warming up your face.  This is one of my favorite seasonal images from Fred, She Said and even though I use it a lot, the results are so different!  This time, I created an easel card, one of my favorite styles!  I found great papers from Bella Blvd. (green liner) and Reminisce (fall leaves), paper lace, buttons, and lateral stamp from my stash, then the Fred Pre-colored favorites of "Pumpkins & Sunflowers" and "Sunflower Trio". Tracey (aka Fred) has so many pre-colored images-check them out because it makes getting out your Fall cards so much easier!

Sassy Studio Designs Sponsors Challenge 22 for SALS

Seems a Little Sketchy is so proud to be sponsored by the great Sassy Studio this challenge!  I just love getting to work with their digitals to make my cards-there are so many choices of neat images that it's a hard decision!
I just LOVED this Pirate and saw so many different options in using her!  I turned the Sketch sideways with the buttons (Gold Coins for me) in the bottom right corner.  From my grandson's days of being a pirate, I had so many DP's to use-it almost made it harder! ARGGGG!!! I've got stripes, polka dots, some gray turbulent seas paper that had the pirate ship in the corner-fancy cut that for an accent instead of the flourish, some bakers' twine, and it wouldn't be a Pirate's card without some Map paper!  I added a sentiment done in the Blackadder font-perfect style!

Then, because remember how much I liked the Sassy Girls?, I grabbed another digi--This one is a Mummy-perfect for Halloween right?  Sassys always have such beautiful eyes and hair!  I was itching to try out some of my new "Weenie" paper so really layered it on!
The image didn't need a lot of work so I focused on the eyes and Hair--wanted it to look similar to Frankenstein's wife so used some grays, black and some white liquid pearls for those white streaks.  I love using the cheesecloth like her wrap is coming off and like with the pirate, I rotated the sketch.  The bones are in the Flourish position and the skulls are where the buttons were.  Hope all of you have your share of Ghouls and Goblins visiting your homes! Fall's in the Air with Fred, She Said Designs

 There's a crispness in the air, a freshness in the wind.  Oh how we dreamed of this time in Illinois when we were facing the triple digit temperatures this summer.  I don't think we will have the gorgeous fall leaves that we normally have as there was no rain to speak of in the heat.
Instead, I tried to get the feel of that by using some of my unique Fall papers on my latest card!  K & Company has this great series called Fall Harvest-the 2 matted squares are from the Words Embossed Paper and the Leaves Foil Paper is the background paper with copper foil veins in each leaf-yummy.  I added the paper ribbon of Indiana Corn paper BUT the center of attraction is the PERFECT pre-colored digital from Fred, She Said Designs --they are colored with such detail that you don't need to add anything to get the depth we all love! A lover of bling that I am though, I wanted to make the sunflowers POP so I added Lemon Ice Stickles on the petals and I love the effect.  This is a great card to use to wish your friends a Happy Fall Ya'll or as you go to a Friends house for that Thanksgiving Feast-Don't go empty-handed, take a card...and your appetite!

Summer Sunflowers Remembered with Fred, She Said

It's so nice to have the wonderful option of using some of Tracey's (aka Fred) pre-colored images when you're rushing home from work, have to get supper started, need to get a load of laundry in so you'll have something for tomorrow....and then realize that you have to get a card made for a dear friend so that you can mail it out the next day.....I'm sure you all have faced such a situation in your own lives and because those kind of days are the norm for me anymore, I'm SO grateful for her designs.  
At the Fred, She Said store  , Tracey has so many themes and designs that you can always find what you want!  Check it out and be prepared to set a spell!  I chose the Colored Sunflower Trio Sheet, enlarged it to fit an A7 card front, stamped a clear acrylic sentiment in the center, added a hemp-like bow, tied it off with some cording through a button and added my dp inside with some special words for my friend and it was in the envelope within 30-45 minutes.  I was so thrilled that I actually had time to scrap in the evening!!  Thanks for checking it out!  And get some instant stress-relief with Tracey's help!  See you around the Block~Carolyn

MONOCHROMATIC is the latest at Squiggle Fly!! WINNER!!

Now on to this weeks challenge: MONOCHROMATIC

I used Winnie the Witch by Jane Beljo  and brought out all the wonderful orange colored  Halloween papers to keep with the theme.  I thought CAS cards were a little challenging but this one stopped me in my tracks several times--I kept reaching for the black and grays for the shoes and hat!  This is a 6x6 card from yellow-orange cardstock, a layer of soft tone-on-tone pumpkins on the next layer, a scrap of orange striped paper, some wonderful grunged up orange punkin vine paper, then a frame raised up on pop dots from one of my Spellbinder dies.  

I paper pieced the dress and socks on Winnie and then die cut her.  Squiggle Fly always has the neatest images to choose from in their shop and reasonably priced so you ought to check it out!  I added the richly embroidered pumpkin ribbon, added a bow and stamped the Witches Brew into the corner.   Was fun-will have to get some more cards ready that's for sure!  Hope you'll be back soon!  Thanks for looking~Carolyn

  

Bath Bubbles at Seems a Little Sketchy #21

It's time for this week's challenge using the images from My Heart Pieces , our lovely sponsor.  This cute little Bath Fairy caught my eye-I just love the Bubbles and the so cute flowers.  And as always, Seems a Little Sketchy has a sketch for you to use-it makes it so much easier when you have a diagram to follow!
I used 2 different papers to create my different areas on the card-the bottom has glossy stripes as well as areas of glitter.  A touch of ric-rack, some paper lace, an embossed butterfly, white liquid pearls, actual pearl accents, copics and some stickles for her wings and there you have it!
