Mo Manning DT Entry-Fingers Crossed!

I have always  had a deep fondness for the digital creator Mo Manning and the delightful images that she creates.  The thing I like the most about them is that they never fail to put a smile on my face and give me a chuckle.
At her blog site, Mo's Digital Pencil, you can find Sk8tR Girl, the image I used today.  This SO reminds me of our Granddaughter, maybe trying out her Dad's favorite pastime-Skateboarding.  I can't count how many times I heard him trying his latest flip...upstairs in his bedroom!
I used some great double sided papers in her favorite colors, edged the Spellbinder die cut with lavender chalk, used an eclectic mix of chipboard Monograms mounted on top of some great "girly" sentiments paper, and added a flourish to give the Skater some movement.  Of course the Digital Image is the Star of the card and I think our GD will be so thrilled to hear from Grams!  The inside is finished off with a complimentary pink with an area for writing a note.
I am entering this card at the Mo's Digital Pencil site with hopes that I will fulfill a dream and be asked to join the Dream DT!  And if it's not to be this time around, I will have made a card that puts a smile on my face..once again!  Thanks for visiting and come back again!  Carolyn

Cold Weather's great for Pansys..From Fred, She Said

Here in the Mid-west we've had nothing but rainy, wet, cold weather throughout the month of April...so Of course, Pansys Love that kind of environment!  Over at Fred, she Said, Tracey (aka Fred) has some beautiful groupings of single, double and groups of pansys in teacups.  Both in this gorgeous Blue and in Pink/Lavenders.  They say that this flower actually has a "face" and a smile-Think we need this to get through to some real Springtime temps!
As previously stated, I need some Thank You cards so I'm using the pre-colored images from the set-here is the store link.  I placed a single pansy with the cluster of leaves to accent the corner and teamed it up with the scalloped circle from the Medallion Flower set.  This set also includes several sentiments that can be used like I did (chalked the edges), or in the center of the medallion flower.  Cute both ways~Hope you would love to get this in the mail!

Kenny K is sponsoring Seems A Little Sketchy!

I'm so thrilled to have Kenny K be our sponsor this week!  He has so many neat images and this  image called Anime Soccer digi stamp is the focus of my card. Thought it would be great encouragement card for some kid out there!  I used the extra image I printed out to fancy cut from his knee to the foot and then apply it with foam dot and adhesive so that it looks like the foot is actually kicking to you.  Trimmed out the inside and outside with some cardstock stickers with metallic trim. The greatest thing at Seems a Little Sketchy is that we give everyone a sketch to use so it makes it easier to compose the card~  Come and play with us the next two weeks-Kenny K is giving away 3 free digis to the winner of the challenge!

Happy Flowers set from Fred, She Said~so many combinations!

Because Thank You cards are in such demand in my life, I decided to make 2 similar cards using some of the multiple color combinations that Tracey (aka Fred) from Fred, She Said gave us in the Happy Flower Colored Digi Set.  In this set, you get flower pots with 1, 2, and 3 stems, veined leaves, and solid and polka-dot flower heads.  WHAT FUN!!!
I used a large pot image so that the fancy cut flowers would be the focal point of the card.  Used Buttons on one set, nothing on the other, although I could've used Stickles.  You add the leaves and a label for the stamped sentiment and there you have a great card!  The beauty of using images from Fred, She Said is that she offers b&w sets of her images as well as the colored ones.  I love having the option of colored when you're in a hurry for a beautiful card!  Check her out!

It's Raining at Squigglefly-We've had to much here!

The newest challenge on Squigglefly is "April Showers bring May Flowers" so a person could do either do a card with a water theme or one that has flowers in it!  So many choices!  I chose an image by Marlene Shaw called "Stepped in it".  I did some paperpiecing on her raincoat and purse, made a puddle on the sidewalk, used some new brick card fronts from my friend Linda, and some Stickles for raindrops.  I used a sentiment of my own, although this image does come with it's own!  Hope you get a kick out of it!  There are several new artists at Squigglefly so be sure to check them out !  And be watching for the launch of new images coming up the first Saturday of the Month of May in the SF store!

Let the Flowers Bloom with Fred, She Said

As I mentioned before, these new papers from Fred, She Said are an inspiration to create!  I love it when the creative juices are flowing~  Here I'm using a gorgeous aqua blue daisy background paper from the Floral Surprise papers set.  The neat thing about the Fred Store is that Tracey (aka Fred) also has precolored digis and I found a spray from the Daisies and Ladybug set that made a great anchor for the card.  Then I added an image that I colored myself called Little Miss Bitty making her the ladybug!   I found some great button accents for the corner and finished off the inside with a sentiment as well. Off to find some more papers!

Oops Looks like I found another one and it was so easy to be creative with these papers as I said!  This time I used the counterpart to the previously  posted brown sympathy card-it's in a soft blue that has that scratched paper look.  Instead of cotton lace on the side, I changed it up with some paper lace I was fortunate to receive from a friend.  The blue swiss dot dp I used in the background  matches the Happy Flowers Digi set flowers and leaves that I used in various sizes in the front corner. I even used Liquid pearl white opal to make the dots on the flower POP!  Then, wanting to keep it lacy and frilly, I used a flourish tag with a neat sentiment sticker on it for a Birthday card.  Well I hope that I've inspired you to check out the papers!  Maybe they will help you find your Mojo again!  Happy Scraping

New Floral Paper set from Fred, She Said

Sometimes one gets so inspired to use a product right away because it's just so beautiful!  That was the case with me when Tracey(aka Fred) from Fred, she Said announced a new launch in her store called Floral Surprise Papers. This digital paper set was designed by Donna of  Bearly Mine Designs  using various floral graphics from Fred She Said Designs.  Be sure to check all 28 papaers in the set-they are beautiful!
I was drawn to this brown floral paper and even though it was designed as a 12 x 12 sheet, I printed it out as a 4 x 6, "framed" it with deep brown paper, trimmed it with gorgeous heavy cotton brown lace from Turkey (Thank you Holley Barnhart!) along the edge.  THEN I also used the Heart and Roses pre-colored set from Fred's Store and put a pre-colored yellow rose spray in the corner, foam dots added for dimension.  With a matted sentiment on the outside and inside in warm yellow, my hope is that it comforts someone during their sad time.

BUTTON UP-the newest challenge from Southern Girls! What Fun!

Well it's time for another challenge with Southern Girls!  this week we would love to see buttons, badges or flair on everyone's projects.  Remember with this great group, any type of papercraft is welcome-they love it all!
We are being sponsored by Delicious Doodles and the winner gets 4 images of their choice!  They're So generous!
I'm using the image Hydrangea and Butterfly and I love all the shading on the flower and butterfly-makes it so easy to give depth to your coloring! Now I could've used the inside of the frame for stamping a sentiment for my card but I chose to open it up to highlight a wonderful thought from the Bible.  There is Stickles on both the butterfly and Hydrangea and then I used several buttons to carry out our theme for this challenge.

Make a Mother's Day card at Squiggle Fly! Challenge 1513

The image I'm using is called Time for the Spa by Lynne Stansbery, one of Squiggle Fly's great artists!  I can't think of a better gift that a relaxing massage in a great Spa!  I used the sketch furnished from Seems a Little Sketchy to make my layout easier.  The great background paper is from The Girl's Paperie and has a great vintage feel to it. I matted it with a pink floral and then mounted that to kraft paper.  Used an intricate frame die cut from Spellbinders to give the image a more girly look and then embellished the name of person we honor on her special day~ MOM~ with scrabble like squares.  My Mother has long gone to Heaven but I remember her so often as I go about my days.  She was a very special woman and someone that I admired and loved deeply.  May you all have that kind of relationship with your own Mom.
Be sure and check out 2 NEW IMAGES in the Squiggle fly store by Diana Garrison!  She does the most gorgeous designs!

Whimsey Stamps is sponsoring Seems a Little Sketchy

This Sketch from Seems a Little Sketchy is a perfect layout for a card for my Granddaughter!  Whimsey Stamps gave us the go ahead to use any of our own images for our cards this week and the winner of the challenge will get a prize of 4 images free! I decided to turn the sketch and make the image vertical.  I just love the Spring freshness of the colors and design papers.
Be sure to come back to see the next challenge in 2 weeks!  We've got some great sponsors!

Fred, She Said Brings Spring with Flowers

I love the first signs of Spring~the fresh wind blowing, the Robins chirping and lifting your face to the warm sunshine.  After the winter we here in the Mid-west have experienced this season, I'm so glad for the blush of the Spring that's just emerging.
Using the wonderful newest release from Tracey(aka Fred) called Happy Flowers Rainbow Collection from Fred, She Said  , this Spring like card just emerged.
I used a Hydrangea paper from K&Company, added some some lacy bow ribbon. a matching epoxy embellishment that I mounted on a filigree label my friend Virginia gave me, AND to add a punch of color, I used a double and single miniaturized flower and leaves from Tracey's collection to put the icing on the cake so to speak.  I put some diamond Glaze on the face of the flowers and curled the edges for dimension-these are pre-colored for your convenience. This card really gives me the lift that I needed lately.  I hope it inspires you also friends!  Happy Spring to you All!

Squigglefly challenge using Cheryl Alger

Cheryl Alger is one of my favorite Artists from Squigglefly and I'm so happy to use one of her images called Sassy Sally Inner Tube  on this week's challenge "Lovely Liquids".  We're to make a card that uses liquid in some way, whether using an image that contains water, alcohol inks, or liquid crystal lacquer...well you get the idea!  The team of Rhonda's Rowdy Rascals has come up with several ideas and this one uses the digital floating on some neat
water/wave paper from Hot Off The Press.  I fancy cut around her feet and suspended the image over the water paper.  Two fun satin printed ribbons are attached with an orange button brad.  I'm being so optimistic  with this card as we had 60 degree weather today that I'm just hoping for some warmer temps!!  Hope you'll join us at Squigglefly for lots of fun.  Be watching for the new releases coming up this Saturday!

QKR Stampede Sponsoring Seems A Little Sketchy

I just love this new sponsor for us here at Seems a Little Sketchy!  This challenge we have the privilege of using digitals from QKR Stampede Stamps  and mine is called Setting the Stars.  It makes such a cute card for a new baby or baby shower!   You can also see the Sketch challenge that we had this week...in order to have the scalloped edge around mine, I used by square scalloped nested dies on the copic colored image so that I have the large outer scallop and then I used foam dots on the inside cut for dimension.  Kind of makes the foot and star look interesting.  The band across the card is made using an embossed yellow and white/stars dp.  I used a pale yellow paper lace addition to the bottom of the band and then finished it off with yellow dew drops.
