Make It Crafty joins Southern Girls Challenge with Banners & Pennants!

Banners & Pennants Challenge Going on NOW!
We are being sponsored this week at Southern Girls Challenge by the great Make It Crafty Group~They have wonderful digi's and Rubber Stamps and such a variety it was fun browsing through all their goodies!  I never have enough boy cards and when I saw this one, It looks like our grandson playing with his remote control car that we got him for Christmas!  this image is called Racing Rick and was such fun!  I was a bit sorry that the depth of the browns in the hair seemed to get washed out in the photo of the card-I must do better with my lighting!
The neat thing about this image from their store is that you got individual png images as well as the groups together!  This directional paper in primary colors was in my "boy" stash and it has a coordinating connected circles paper that I used in the inside of the card, with a bed mat/stamped with a Happy Birthday sentiment.  I trimmed out the arrows from the front, lined them up in pennant style, glued them and then used my white jelly roll pen to create the "stitches" to join the pennants.  A circle on the front to fill a blank space and threaded circle rounds out the card.  Hope you like and will come back to visit me sometime.  At SGC, we have 3 week Challenges so you have plenty of time to get an entry in to win some images!!

LACY SUNSHINE sponsors Seems a Little Sketchy-Great Site!

Lacy Sunshine is a new sponsor for us at SALS and we are Thrilled to have them!  They will be giving 3 free images to the winner of this 2 week challenge-wow!!
I had such fun with this sketch from Seems a Little Sketchy-I rotated it because, as usual, I made a digital image that was a little larger than I needed. SO, "when you're given lemons, make lemonade"!  This sketch made me feel like the rectangle was not an image-BUT A HOLE.  So using that premiss, I used a die to open the front flap of my card so that I could put my image, Eleanor/Pickles The Stashes, peeking out from the inside. My grandson LOVES mustaches so I'm always looking for images like this!  I just love all the details that this image has and it works so well with the awesome paper I found in my STASH(e)!
Love how the card turned out and if you do also, please come and join in the sketch challenge yourself!  We now are previewing the sketches in Tabs at the top of our home page so that, if you like to work ahead, you'll be able to do so!  You still won't be able to post it before the scheduled challenge, but you will sure be ready!  Come out an play and build up your library of images!

I'm so ready for Spring & the Next Squigglefly Challenge

Can you tell by the coloring I'm using in my "SF Digi & Sentiment" Challenge at Squigglefly that, I'M SOO READY FOR SPRING.  The cute image I'm using is by Cheryl Alger called First Love and I'm using a perfect sentiment for this Birthday Card from the collection called My Punny Valentines 4 by Lynne Stansbery.  This saying actually pairs with an electric fan--get it?? I accented the card with some over-sized eyelets and a embossed dragonfly brad.
If you use a Squigglefly image, you are placed in the random drawing for a free image from the SF shop.  Can't beat that!

Squigglefly is looking for Square Cards-Easy Peasy!

The challenge this week is Square Pegs! Please create a square shaped card this week.  We'd love for you to use a Squigglefly image, to be prize eligible it's required, but everyone is welcome to play along.
Now, MY contribution to the"squarish" card LOOKS like a square card but it has a surprise.  I'm using the Squigglefly image called Love is in the Air by  Lynne Stansbery.  It's a great swirly image with open hearts as you can see! I accented the movement lines some Icicle Stickles.  This design was placed on a "Reverse Explosion Card" Blank by The Paper Cut.  I used the Wild Cherry color-perfect for Valentine's Day!  These are great pre-scored card blanks so it takes all the measuring and intricate scoring out of your hands~perfect!  I also used 2 acrylic hearts as accents with pink baby ric-rac threaded through one of them.  A clear sentiment sticker is in the bottom corner, leaving plenty of room for your own personal note.
Come and play with us at Squigglefly on our weekly Challenge-You have until Monday when the winner will be announced!  See you there!

Kenny K is sponsoring the challenge at Seems a Little Sketchy!

For the next 2 weeks, the Sketch 58 challenge at Seems a Little Sketchy  looks like this:
You could do so many things with this layout!  Our sponsor is Kenny K, offering 3 digital images to the winner.
As you can see, I found the perfect Athletic based paper to use with the accents in burgundy, blues and yellows.  Since it was such a masculine card, I elected not to use a bow but a star and button instead.  Hope you like it and come play with us!!

Sympathy card Inspiration for you

I've been taking a little break, getting some needed sympathy cards made, and am so thrilled with this one in particular.  I used a wonderful designer mat pad from K&Company by Susan Wright.  They fit on an A2 card blank so well and are 2 sided so you always have a coordinated print! I just find these so inspirational.
The stamp is from American Art Stamp, which I found at HL.  The Butterfly diecut and the little branch sprigs were from some fellow scrappers on a great site, My Scrapbook Place.  Check us out, we're a Fun Group!  On the inside of the card I kept it simple with just a matted stamp sentiment, With Deepest Sympathy.  I find it hard sometimes to do these cards so that they convey that you care and to make them uplifting-like you are there, putting your arm around them to give them comfort.

RED & PINK Challenge at Squigglefly this week! Can you say Valentine's Day?

What an adorable image to use for this great pre-Valentine's Day RED & PINK Challenge at my favorite Site- Squigglefly!!  The image is from Cheryl Alger's great collection and is called A Big Heart.  I just love coloring her designs!
I tried something new this time--striping the shirt instead of making it solid-I really like the effect.  Mounted it on pink paper and then onto the bed of red roses paper.  Because he was tall and narrow when I got done, I decided to create a little interest by narrowing the front flap of the card so that the "love sayings" paper would show through to the front.  It's by MMBI called Love greetings and could be used for so many card ideas.  I stamped HVD on a pink insert with enough room for a siggy and a personal thought.  I hope all of you are sharing your love thoughts with those that you care about!  Thanks for looking!

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

Monkey Love & Eye Balls--What a Combination for a Valentine Card!

Well, since this evening is a bust with the Super Bowl, I'm getting some cards done!  (Can't tell who I was rooting for right?)  This is completely a cased card that a friend showed me and I had to try it!  It involved those "googily eyes" that you seem to always have left over from say Halloween cards or monster cards for kids.  Well I had several of those, so I made this Fun card!  I used the Sizzix heart dies that I'd not opened yet to cut 2 different hearts out of a layer of kraft and Monkey love paper.  Then on the inside I applied all the eyeballs and stamped Happy Valentine's Day.  Maybe you will find some around your craft room and try this too!  Have Fun!!
