Odd Ball Art is sponsoring Crafting When We Can--Also DT CALL!!!

It's time for our Bi-weekly challenge at Crafting When You Can and this time we are sponsored by Odd Ball Art!  And addition to the Challenge, we are having a DT CALL!!  We would love for you to join us-we have a lot of fun and have great sponsors.
This Challenge is all about following a theme--BASED ON A FILM.  I'm using this adorable girl with a unicorn horn on her head from Odd Ball Art.  I decided to color it in RAINBOW colors with the Film being the Wizard of Oz...the song Somewhere over the Rainbow floating in my head.  I gave her Ombre hair in lavender and gray.  Used chevron paper for the background.  In the inside, I used a woodgrain paper with a friendship verse stamped on it.   And here's the information about the DT call:
It's that time again when we're looking for some new people to join our team! Do not worry about having any DT experience as this is not necessary.  We are looking for someone who can commit to the requirements and enjoy being part of our team.

If you are interested in being part of our DT please read this post through to check what is required, what benefits you receive and how to apply!

Requirements:

  • Make a creation every fortnight in line with our challenge calendar and themes.  The majority of the time you will receive an image from the challenge sponsor, and are required to use these.

  • You are required to upload your creation onto the DT facebook page by the Friday before the challenge goes live on the Sunday. Therefore you will need to have a facebook account.

  • On your blog or website you are required to do a post about each CWWC Challenge.  A minimum in the post will include a good, clear photograph of your DT creation, details of the challenge for that fortnight, and name and website link of our challenge sponsor. The post must go live on the challenge Sunday, it can be set for whatever time is best for your time zone.

  • Comment on participant's entries for every challenge.  You will be assigned two numbers, and will have to comment on all entries ending in those two numbers.  You may be required to comment on additional entries when DT members are on holiday, etc.
  • The Winner and Top 3 for each challenge is chosen by the CWWC Design Team, this is on a rota basis.  When it is your turn to choose a Winner and Top 3, you need to choose only those who abide by our challenge rules.  Then do a post on the DT facebook page with your choices.

Benefits:

  • You will gain DT experience with a fun and friendly team! We don't like hassle here, so everything is as nice and easy as it can be.

  • The majority of our sponsors are generous and offer free images for the Design Team to work with.  Any image you receive as part of you term on the Design Team is yours to keep, as long as you abide by the CWWC terms and conditions, and the sponsor's angel policy.

How to apply?  E-mail Ang at craftingwhenwecan(at)hotmail(dot)com with the following:

  • A little bit about yourself.  Please include a bit about your crafting style.
  • A link to your blog (or wherever you post your creations).

Always Anything Goes with Craft Your Passion

This week we are so thankful to be sponsored at Craft Your Passion by Imagine That! Digis by Kris!
This creative site has so many image sets to peak your interest-please check it out!  This challenge I'm using is called Bloom Where You Are Planted and it comes with both a black and white image and sentiments and pre-colored image and sentiments.  I chose to use a Thank you stamp from my stash but there were very cute ones included in with the set.  I love the look of the pastel plaids and found a great polka-dot to go with the colors.  I accented the card with enamel dots, fishtail strip and a loopy die cuts to show off the boots.
On the inside, I did a complimentary plaid with a blue label die cut for personalizing the card.
Please come on over to CYP and put your project into the challenge-we can't wait to see it!

Crafting When We Can is being sponsored by Sasayaki Glitter!

Love Love Love to shop so this adorable image from Sasayaki Glitter called Shopping Girl Meg is a perfect fit for me!  Following the sketch from Crafting When We Can,I was able to use the Purse paper I've had in my stash waiting for the perfect card~ Used a mini black polka dot paper for mats and accented the corners for some BLING with faceted jewels.  Was so glad most of this paper was double-sided-takes the guess work out of the plan.  I finished it off in the inside liner with some more black and white designer paper.
We hope you join us at the CWWC Challenge with your wonderful entry!

Julia Spiri is having an Anything Goes Challenge--Bridal is the "Twist"

Once again, I get to participate in  Julia Spiri's bi-monthly Challenge as the May Guest Designer and I'm so thrilled!  Although her challenges are Anything Goes, there's usually a Twist and this time around, we are showcasing her Bridal digitals that have been released recently.  They can be found at her Etsy store here--I chose to use Wedding Day.  Isn't she elegant??!!
On the 6" card, I used a cream satin heavy cardstock design paper that says "Tying the Knot".  Then a floral paper behind a kraft matted Bride.  I colored her in Copics and used Clear Wink of Stella for the veil and the gown itself.  Unfortunately the picture didn't pick up the shimmer of this great product.  I used a Frantage in the background that has bits of gold and white chunks-love it!  This heavy lace is so elegant for this special card and I used paper roses and rope pearls as an accent in the corner.  On the inside, it is finished off with a light design paper and a sentiment from my stash.

Be sure to come visit us over at the Challenge and get your entry in to be eligible for some prizes.  And Thanks to all the Julia Spiri Gals that have welcomed me with open arms!  I've had a ball!
I'd like to enter the following Challenges with this card:

Always Anything Goes over at Craft Your Passion-This Challenge sponsored by Crafty Sentiment Designs

At Craft Your Passion it's Always Anything Goes so there's no excuse for you to not rush right over and get your entry into our Challenge!  This time we are lucky to use some great images from Crafty Sentiment Designs and my image is called Harriet-Little Friends.  This is such a super Springtime coloring for any type of card!

I used my copics to color the image, matted her in bright red, and then split the front using a glossy embossed spring word paper and a complimentary design paper.  I was so excited to use "Flower Border" die from Lawn Fawn for the first time.  I did trim the bottom "hill" off of the die cut and used my copics to give them some personality!  Love the accent it creates!  The front sentiment is from a Kraftin' Kimmie rubber stamp set, mounted with pop dots for dimension.  On the inside, I used an embossed scrap and another stamp from my stash.
We hope to see you visit us over at Craft Your Passion real soon!  We have challenges every 2 weeks!

Guest DT on Julia Spiri Challenge #118--Unusual Hair!

I am so thrilled to be asked to be the Guest Designer for Challenge #118 at Julia Spiri Stamps for the month of May!!  The theme of this challenge is "Unusual Hair" and that's always a leap out of my comfort zone lol!

I chose to go with yellows, oranges and reds thinking along the "summertime" theme of the card.  I am using the image called "Girl on a Swing" and adore it so much-especially the curly eyelashes (one of Julia's trademarks).  I mounted the finished copic colored image on top of a sunny yellow gloss embossed (flowers) cardstock and then used a green summer meadow design paper for an additional mat.  Felt like she was swinging up in the clouds with the cloud paper! Topped the Birthday card off with a soft flower from Petal Lu and a "Hello" chipboard tag.  The inside liner again has the embossed paper from the front mat and a stamped sentiment inside.
I hope you will start working on YOUR entry right away and enter it in Julia's Challenge!  And while you're at it, explore her Stamp store here to see so many more unique images.  You will fall in love with them!
I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:

Crafting When We Can Challenge using Stamps by Julia Spiri--Come join in the FUN!!

What a long journey back to finally posting on my Blog.  At the end of March, I had a total knee replacement on my right leg and have spent almost 6 weeks trying to recover.  I never thought it would effect my stamina and concentration as much as it did but, just trying to coloring images and then assemble everything took a lot out of me.  I'm coming back slowly but surely....I really missed being creative.
So, for this first of hopefully more to come DT posts, I give you my creation for the great group called Crafting When We Can and they are being sponsored by Stamps by Julia Spiri  I LOVE her images!!  This one is called Girl with Cat--she has SO many other equally inspiring designs as well.  Our challenge at CWWC was to add some additional flowers-one of my fav embellies.  I turned this into a Thank you Card, goodness knows that I need several of those to send to others!
Gals this is a great site to enter your wonderful creations~ where it's not just the luck of the random draw for the winner and Top 3 but, someone that is really looking the works of Art and appreciating them!  I can't wait to see your entries (max of 2) on the challenge and that you will want to come back again and enter more!
