What a fun challenge on Hambo Hoedown this week! We were given a great Nerdie character (NERD - digital image by Hambo Stamps) to use with 3 perfect sentiments one of which was "Smitten" AND the added challenge of using plaid/multiple pattern papers. I know I'm smitten with scrapbooking and cards so it was a perfect phrase to use. Hummm...wonder where I used it?
When I think of the kids known as NERDS "back in the day" (and yes I'm old enough to know about that), I always think of kids wearing the POCKET PROTECTORS in their shirt pocket and the multi-patterned outfits that were so popular. It's funny to see some of those coming back in style now!
Well, this is the style card I made-it is supposed to have the appearance of a shirt, complete with a pocket with faux stitching around the edges and with a stitched PP inside the pocket. Well our little guy is fancy cut so that he hangs out over the edge. When you pull it out you will see the surprise phrase mounted on ARGYLE paper. Wow, I'm having flashbacks! I wanted you to see how I colored him with Copics so I let him escape the pocket. All that's missing are the pens! I ran a vertical banner down the side and embellished with tweed style buttons and again mounted a phrase with an Argyle backing. That accent is much like the old "bowling" shirts!
Play along each week with a Hambo Stamps Image (rubber or digital) and you will be in the loop for some awesome FREE images. I hope I've taken you down Memory Lane for a short while-come back when you can stay longer!
