Let's get fruity on Squigglefly this week!
The challenge this week on Squigglefly is to use fruit on your card--it can be your image or embellishments. Well since we're finally in Springtime it seems like a natural opportunity. I tell you I was a little stumped by this at first, but when I started working on some cards this week, I found this great strawberry paper by The Paper Patch called Garden Strawberries. And~click~ I suddenly had the song "Strawberry Fields Forever" in my head! This image called "Slow & Steady Sally by Cheryl Alger" actually shows her on a tightrope I believe with a ladybug. I decided to use that curvy line as a guide for a Field of strawberries she was walking on. With the blue sky background and the Juicy Birthday sentiment, I think it will be a big Smile Maker for a friend's young daughter!

Polka Dot Time at Squigglefly -this weeks' challenge
The challenge this week at Squigglefly is called Polka Dots Please. Please include polka dots somewhere on your card, this can in your image, on your background paper, or on any embellishments (be they paper flowers, brads, ribbons...). We'd love for you to use a Squigglefly image, to be prize eligible it's required, but everyone is welcome to play along.
I decided to use a Inner Stair Step Card from The Paper Cut in Pink Lemonade and the design paper is by The Paper Studio. The ISS card is a pre-scored card blank--so that makes it so easy to fold and go on any card. The cute guy in my Easter Card is from the Easter Hubby group by Lynne Stansbery from Squigglefly's Talented artists and comes with this sentiment and others. This is a sneak preview of the images that will go on sale the first weekend of April but wouldn't he be so cute tucked in an Easter basket for an adult too? I colored him with copics and put some flower soft on his bunny ears.
There's still plenty of time to get your entry in before Sunday night and you could be the winner of a image of your choice from the SF shop! Hope you enjoy and get inspired!

Aurora Wings is a Wonderful match for Seems a Little Sketchy!
I love the large beautiful eyes that she has in some of her images and the whimsical subjects. The image that I chose is called Forget me Not and is so Springlike.
You can see here the sketch from SALS that we used on our Art pieces. I love making layered cards and, while my image is a little larger, I wanted it to be the focus on the card. I used copics for all the coloring, rayon seam binding for the bow (I distressed the binding with walnut ink and wadded it up and let it dry all creased), and 2 stick pins that I had in my stash. And here is the finished card:

Welcome! The Paper Nest joins Seems a Little Sketchy Challenge
This image that I used for my card is called 3rd Birthday from The Paper Nest. Whether it is a rubber stamp or digital, they have images that are original , hand drawn, and inspired by their own kids-a great site to find such cute items to use on your creations. At Seems a Little Sketchy, we are so pleased that they are offering a $25 gift certificate to the winner of our 2 week contest!
You will see the Sketch that we are using this time around.
I chose to drop the circle back behind the rectangle so that I could feature the Birthday Girl! I used copics for the coloring and added some Sugar Coating/lily white glitter by Doodlebug design for the icing on the cake. Sure gives the icing some sparkle!! I did a fancy cut around the background of the image and inserted some design paper behind her-like a wallpaper. Added some bling flowers and off it goes to a special little girl!

Favorite Colors Challenge at Squigglefly!
I ALWAYS love it when I can use colors that make me happy and put a smile on my face! This week's challenge at Squigglefly lets me do that! MY fave colors are blue and green-could explain why I love the ocean, waves, hearing the sound of the waves breaking on a beach, pools, especially the ones you see in those commercials for the Bahamas. And here I am in the land-locked state of Illinois!
This image is intricate but FUN to color-it's named "In the Country II by Judith Hart, a very talented artist that gives you so many selections to use in the Squigglefly shop. The thing I like about the image is that it has so many vignettes-you could almost tell little stories about each setting! I'm giving this to a friend that is finally moving into her home after 6 months-I hope she feels the Peace that I feel when I use these colors. I finished the card with 2 felt flowers that I cut from a Die-Namics die and then rolled and glued them. I also added some orange Stickles to the shape in the middle.
I hope you will join in the fun at our weekly challenge and show us what YOUR favorite colors are! The winner will get an image of their choice to add to their library!
