March 2019 New Release Over at All Dressed Up!

 Hello Dressy Fans!

Wendy, our artist in residence, has been working hard to bring us a fabulous selection of new release images this month.
As ever, she has not forgotten that Mother's Day (Mothering Sunday) is celebrated in the UK , the home of ADU, on 31st March and there are some new designs that will be perfect for this occasion. All these beauties are available now in the Etsy Store

The Image that I'm using for the new release is called Busy Street and there are so many variations of the same image being highlighted on the blog.  I used copics creating different store fronts-like coloring your own town!
There also a navy satin ribbon & bow that runs under the image.  On the inside I used the purple and black harlequin paper again, using a celebration stamp with some bling.

Don't forget we have two challenges running right now -
ending on the eve of the 14th March where it's always "Anything Goes with an All Dressed Up Image"
&
ending on the last day on the month.
The current theme is "Girlie Girls"
***Please remember your creations must use an
 All Dressed Up Image***

I hope you visit the All Dressed Up site and see all of our lovely creations!

It's Graduation time over at Paper Nest Dolls and Christine has lots of Choices

May is the perfect time to showcase Christine's Graduation Series, from Paper Nest Dolls, what with celebrations from kindergarten through College graduations!  As I was planning on three different ones (and customized from hair color to gown colors), I used both Avery and Owen gowned images!   On Owens' blue gown, his tassel is burgundy and I used several silver
embellishments that were dimensional.

Here's Avery's card-I think it's just perfect as her tassel and gown were going to be royal blue/silver and royal blue.  The shiny silver striped cardstock was the perfect background for the image. The nice things about Christine's images is there are tiny tiny details that make it hard to get your copic pens in small spaces, but they still have enough features to make it interesting!  Again I used the dimensional embellishments, although no matter how I tried, I could not get the ultra shiny inside greeting to show up-it says Contrats Grad (text disclaimer is in white under the embellie)
The last Owen card was done in shiny metallic Gold and black gown.  I wanted the graduation sentiments to show from the inside so I cut the front flap in half, triple matted the colored image-hope you can see the lighter folds-then let the image hang over.  The sentiment paper inside has lettering in both black and gold.  I added some more embellie accents.  I loved how all of these card turned out and Christine from Paper Nest Dolls came out with the Graduation Series JUST in time!!!  Yea!  Be sure and check out all of her other great images in the shop!

One Layer cards at Squigglefly this week--Holy Cow!

The Challenge at Squigglefly this week was to create a 1 layer card....For me this was SO HARD!!  I simply love to create cards that build and build on top of each other.  I was never so glad to have png images so that I could "layer" them all onto 1 level.  The Image I'm using this week is Travel at Your Own Pace by Cheryl Alger-she's one of the talented artists at Squigglefly.
I placed the digi onto a blue background, added a sentiment from my stash both to the outside and inside of the card.  The only fear that I had doing this card was that I would mess up the coloring of the digital image and have to start over again!  Oh the pressure lol!
We have three new artist making their debut this coming month at Squigglefly.  They are Tam Hess, Norma Burnell, and Angela Charles.  Each of them have their own unique style.  We are also welcoming a new design team member Jen Leeflang.  Jen's blog is http://jencraftsa.blogspot.com.  Be sure and watch her posts for some great ideas!
