Sassy Cheryl Challenge~Anything Goes

I didn't set out to work on a card for a challenge yesterday but one for a dear friend that will be leaving our office tomorrow.  She will be moving with her husband to the St. Louis area to help raise their 3 grandkids.  You see, she recently lost her daughter of 42 years to the terrible disease of cancer.  So, that being said, I wanted to make her something to lift up her spirits and put a smile on her face.  She has been such a supporter of my cards and has purchased several for different occasions.
When I saw this digi from Cheryl Alger I thought who wouldn't grin when they saw that big crazy sun!  And, I wanted to try mounting the image only halfway on the card face so that it featured it more.  And it was important that she be able to look at it at a glance so I made an easel card.  I'm really enjoying those kind!
On the front, I used a Spellbinder die cut  stamped with  an inspiring message for her, accented with a prima and pearl. I found these great Brenda Walton cardstock die cuts at Joanns in a pack of 21-a great buy and quite an assortment.  When folded, it's revealed that there's a picket fence die, flowers and a powerful Irish Blessing message.  I hope it gives her comfort in the days to come.

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

    1. Michelle your warm words mean so much to me, thank you. She's putting it in an album that she started for the kids all about her daughter's life, so I felt very honored. I am humbled that you gave it such a place on your FB page. I could't go there during work and look at it-blocked-but will definitely take a look. That's a first for me! It wasn't about the challenge, it was about sharing with my scrapbook friends. Thanks again, Carolyn
