All is right in the world finally this week...we have returned from the 10 day Covered Bridge Festival that occurs every October, we've gotten back into our routine of going to work (moving a little slower however with our muscle aches and soreness), and ***getting back to doing the things that we love--for me, it's getting back to making cards and coloring images. At Squigglefly, we are having our weekly challenge-Use a Frame on your creation.
What with Trick or Treat coming up shortly, I pulled out an image called Little Red by Fawn Palmer 'cause I could see some child dressing up like Little Red Riding Hood for Halloween! I used some digital paper and embellies from Doodle Pantry's shop: the leaves,"ribbons", background paper, and pumpkins. I fancy cut Red and wanted to accent her cutie face so that's where I set the Frame we were to use. Come join us and perhaps you could win an image!I apologize for the "off" color on the frame photo-it truly does match the green on the card!

Pumpkin Image or Color on Squigglefly's Latest Challenge
It's that spooky time of the year and Halloween is right around the corner. Our challenge this week at Squigglefly was to use a pumpkin on your entry (hey, maybe even a pumpkin PIE would count!) OR the pumpkin orange color. As the "Blood Moon" just made an appearance this morning around here, I chose to make a huge orange moon for my card. It highlights perfectly the great house image called Haunted House by Carmen Gamble, one of Squiggleflys great artists! I used a very neat die cut that was furnished by one of my scrapbook friends-I got white, brown and black! I figure that should just about cover all the seasons! This blue accent color paper is from The Paper Company called Ecorce, made in France. It has hard, raised creases that ripple across the paper and I got it in several colors-I'm just fascinated by it! Maybe you can find this 8.5 x 11 paper in your local HL like I did!
The inside is matted with the same orange paper with the saying "From our House to yours~Happy Halloween" .

Aurora Wings is the Sponsor for Seems a Little Sketchy's Sketch Challenge
This week we are thrilled to have Aurora Wings as our sponsor at Seems a Little Sketchy. The image I'm using is called Poppy Fairy and I just love her! The sketch that SALS gave us to use is shown here-since I wanted to show more of the image as a rectangle instead of a square, I wasn't able to "sprinkle" various accents like the sketch shows. BUT, I decided to use purple and pink guinea feathers placed at the corners instead, as if they ran underneath the image. I just love "Icelandic Poppies" with their soft pink colors so I colored these like them.
There's diamond Stickles over the Fairy Wings. The winner of the 2 week challenge will get a $15 Voucher from Aurora Wings so we hope that we see YOU there!

Another of my favorite October releases from Doodle Pantry! Charlie Autumn
Among the large group of October Doodle Pantry releases that Laurie, our fearless leader, has created for all of us is one called Charlie Autumn. I just get the biggest kick out of this cute horse playing in the gorgeous leaves! Just puts a smile on my face. The fall leaf paper is just my favorite-it was such a busy paper that I felt that with the solid color mats I used, all it really needed was a simple grosgrain ribbon. I think the angled ribbon gives it a interesting accent.
On the inside I used another of the patterned papers in the set-I trimmed down the Fall leaves and used that as a border edge along with another sentiment. Such Fun! Be sure to check out the rest of our new sets and maybe you could use one of them to join in our Monthly Challenge! See you there!

*H*U*G*E* October Release from Doodle Pantry and a new challenge
It's time for a H*U*G*E October release from Doodle Pantry!!! Laurie, our amazing leader, has out done herself and there are so many new images for your pleasure! The one I'm starting with is called Autumn Song Birdies~Yes! they're back! And they're perfect for Thanksgiving Cards with their fall colors and cornucopia full of colorful vegetables. I've enjoyed using my layering abilities to use all the digital images and papers together to create some of these cards as Laurie gives everyone jpeg as well as png images-so I can create mats and sentiments where ever I want to. Then I can use embellishments to create more dimension. On the inside is another of the solid color choices with mats behind one of the other sentiments. Please check out the Doodle Pantry site for ALL the new releases and then come back at Noon, October 1st, to participate in the month long challenge, where the only requirement is to use a digital image-How EASY PEASY! Hope to see you there!
We hope you can play along with us!
