Using Little Miss Muffet image by Sherri Baldy as a Get Well Card!

This cute "storybook" character is Little Miss Muffet from Sherri Baldy's Digital Collection found in her store.   I had to "girly up" the spider as I'm not a big fan of spiders...and here I am using one!  But with blush on her cheeks I think I will live..  After coloring her with copics, I mounted her on green cardstock to make her pop on the page (as well as some dimensional pop dots on the back of her picture).  Found the perfect designer paper in my stash which continues to grow when I'm not looking-don't know how that happens!  I ran a grosgrain blue ribbon under the image, tied it off in a bow and added blue "twinkle goosebumps"  made by Queen & Co. on the corners.
On the inside I used a rubber stamp I found in my stash and turned this into a Get Well card-the sentiment says "Heard you caught a Bug"  Perfect!
Thanks for visiting and I hope you will become a follower of my Blog and get inspired by cards for all occasions.

Springtime over at The Paper Nest Dolls with Ellie!

This week for Paper Nest Dolls, I'm using Ellie with Flowers--perfect for Springtime that will Hopefully come to Illinois soon!
I love this bright blue and yellow combination for my Get Well card-I'm always needing those.  To me this copic colored image is perfectly framed with a denim looking paper and crisp polka-dotted background.
I used a Stampin' Up stamp and yellow mini buttons for accents.   I repeated the dotted paper as the liner inside the card and a circle stamp for a sentiment.
So, as this is a REMINDER to you, come over to our challenge to enter your creation and maybe win a prize!  We'd love to see your projects!

Cherry Blossom Geisha Girl Get Well Card--a Sherri Baldy image!

Having a bit of fun this weekend, mounting a Sherri Baldy  image I colored up with copics a while back--she's a Geisha called Cherry Blossom and can be found in Sherri's Store.  It's wonderful just coloring when you have a moment and then always having an image on hand!
I used Glacial Blue Wink of Stella on her flower beads hanging off of her flower cluster, and added a shiny silver corner accent with gem on the matted image as well as a hanger over the Get Well sentiment.  I've been saving this parasol paper sheet forever for just the right card-was so excited that it worked out for this one!!  On the inside, I used a creamy yellow crackle paper with a great KKS sentiment stamped on the inside. Hope my friend will thoroughly enjoy it!  Thanks for stopping by!

Remember We're celebrating a Birthday over at Color It Create It Show It Off! Come join us!

Just wanted to remind you all that we are celebrating a Birthday Bash for Color It Create It Show It Off using images created by Sherri Baldy All Month Long!  Through out the month, we have several special colored creations that we want to share with you.  AND we want you to join us and share what are YOUR favorite images from Sherri.
This image I used half way through our celebration is just called Bestie In A Frame.  I love all the flowers that surround the frame and look at all the curls in her hair!  For the Pearls in her hair, I used white liquid pearls.  I wanted to call attention to the CIRCLE shape of the image so I glued it to the front of an A5 card blank and fancy cut around the circle, leaving a hinge.  So the kraft heart printed paper is actually on the inside of the card, with a paper ribbon in pale yellow running through a ribbon glide.  When you lift the flat, you see the Get Well sentiment underneath.  This sweet image will make a great card to perk up your spirits when you're under the weather.  Make sure you come over to the Challenge and place your entry into the mix and Celebrate with the rest of us!

Come and Get It Challenge Blog is showing GET WELL cards! Sponsor is Time for Tea Designs--Wheee!

I had such FUN making this "action" card for Come And Get It Blog Challenge!  It's an image called "Sledding" by Time for Tea Designs and was such fun to color!
I used a beautiful heavy embossed cardstock with snowflakes everywhere for the bottom half on the card and a lightweight swirled specialty paper with silver embossed "swirly snowflakes"-at least in my mind.
I matted the image & sentiment with a shimmery purple cardstock from the Paper Cut.  I added dots of snow by using some white Liquid Pearls.  Then, the most fun I had was adding sprays of "snow" by using white feathers from the craft store.  It worked just perfectly!  Added some Aqua "goosebumps" in the corners for some faceted accents.  On the inside, I finished off with using the same papers as on the front (you can really see the embossing better) and a sentiment created on the computer.
If this doesn't make a person get out of a sick bed and get outside, I don't know what will!  We would love for you to come over to our 1 week Challenge and show us your creation!  The winner will get 3 images!

Guest Designer at All Dressed Up this week!! SO HONORED!

I've always admired the Digital Image site, All Dressed Up, and recently had an opportunity to enter a challenge they had with the theme Hearts.  I was truly honored to have my entry chosen as one of the Top Three... which then turned into an Invite--eek!---to be the Guest Designer at the next Challenge on March 2nd!  I'm Over The Moon to say the least.
This is my entry for that Great Honor, using I Love My Puppy-in love from the first moment I saw it in the All Dressed Up Etsy Shop HERE.  This dress I colored reminds me of a sundress I had back in my childhood that had these intricate "medallions" on it similar to the blue ones in the coloring.  She has such a sunny personality I had to put her in the clouds!  I matted that image on some gorgeous sunny dp- also used in the liner- and I took some baby red ric-rac and wrapped the edge.  As I tend to do, overthink the designing, I wanted to show this really neat raindrop paper that I have in my stash (sunny/rain) and used some floral die cuts from my stash (colored to match the yellows), topped off with a button(favorite embellie) and some embroidery floss.  The perfect stamp says "I'm Here Rain or Shine" from KKK.  Inside, I kept it simple using the Umbrella and sentiment stamp that says "Wishing you Brighter Days".
This is a card very special to me cause it will be going to a very Dear Niece that is recovering from surgery and is now on the road to recovery.  It was just a perfect time to be asked to use such a great image from All Dressed Up and I thank them for the opportunity to do so!  Check them out-I'm sure you will find the perfect image for YOUR life!

Anything Goes at Craft Your Passion-Rick St. Dennis is the sponsor!

At Craft Your Passion this week as always, It's Anything Goes and Rick St. Dennis has been gracious to be our sponsor!  I'm always in need of Get Well cards so I'm using the image called It's All About Balance.  What an adorable clown to cheer a person up!
I used an oldie but goodie paper called Purple Sponged from Paper Pizazz.  Then used a technique I recently learned that gives a bubble effect to the background color.  The clown is colored with copics and I added a Stampin' Up sentiment and my favorite accents-buttons.  I finished the inside up with some complimentary paper and Best Wishes stamp.
I hope that we'll see your creations on our challenge-the winner gets 2 single images from Rick's store!  What fun!

SPRING HAS SPRUNG 2nd Challenge at Sweet Pea's "One Sweet Challenge"

How can you NOT get a smile on your face when you see Raindragon by Lisa Victoria with Sweet Pea Stamps!!!  Even Puddles won't get him down!  This will celebrate the halfway point in the "One Sweet Challenge" for Sweet Pea as we continue with the theme Spring Has Sprung for April.

This was such a FUN card to do-a 6x6 card blank used from The Paper Cut, with this Perfect rain drop 2 sided paper.  The dragon is SO cute and I loved doing her in Copic shades of pinks with a light blue wash over her.  The other side of the paper has several different cloud patterns on it which I used with foam dots.  What I got a kick out of was going back and using Aleene's Clear Gel Tacky Glue on all the raindrops, even across the border at the bottom (which is the tear away section of the paper).  On the inside, I wanted to do a sunshine page with another paper from the set-aren't the rain boots and umbrellas adorable?  With an up-beat sentiment, it's sure to get someone feeling better quickly!
Be sure to check back for the next month's theme at One Sweet Challenge-Sweet Pea Stamps has so many images that will inspire you to enter your creation!  Remember: Our prizes for our challenges are a $10 coupon if the winner uses a Sweet Pea Stamp rubber stamp or digital image and a $5 coupon to the Sweet Pea Stamp store if the winner did not use a Sweet Pea Stamp.  See you there!

Ladybug Crafts Ink-a NEW sponsor for Southern Girls Challenge!

Welcome to our very first challenge of 2014 here at Southern Girls Challenge! :)  Welcome back to our regulars and also any newbies that might be joining us for the first time.  Christmas has flown by and now it is all about fresh starts and new beginnings so for our challenge for this brand spanking New Year we want to see a celebration of new things, New Baby, Newly Weds, new pressies or just using new stash.

How "FUNNY" that my NEW thing is a NEW COLD!!!!  Should have been expecting it what with the sub-zero weather for the last 2 weeks and then it was 52 (1) day this week!  Yikes-Everyone has colds!!! So this image called Unwell Nikki that I got from our Newest Sponsor, Ladybug Crafts Ink, is PERFECT!!  In keeping with the angled bed she used in order to get the perspective on the bed, I decided to angle the layout also.  Since she is so "modern", I used some glossy, glittered embossed geometric paper as the base. A simple Get Well stamp, some puffy satin floral flower trim and some complimentary buttons finish the card.  I'm always needing get well cards so what a great opportunity.  Thanks for looking and come join us for the next 2 weeks showing what's NEW for YOU in 2014 and you too could be a winner of some digis from our 2 sponsors!!

Southern Girls Challenge Features Milk Coffee Stamps!

For this challenge, Southern Girls Challenge has a theme of "Sweet Treats"!  Now, my image from Milk Coffee Stamps is called Charlotte the Nurse.  This site is on Etsy with some very cute images for sale.  Now I'm not sure about the TREAT that Char is getting ready to give you in that glass with the pills in it, but it's good for a chuckle!

I used embossed dotted swiss pink cardstock as the base of my card, with multi-colored embossed hearts on the top.  The oval is framed with a gorgeous cardstock color from The Paper Cut called Basis Teal-it matched the hearts perfectly.  I definitely will be making more Get Well cards for my inventory with this cutie!  The sentiment is from my stash and is mounted with pop dots for dimension.

There's Something in My Pocket ~Squigglefly Challenge!

This week our team, Rhonda's Rowdy Rascals, has got a great challenge called "There's something in my Pocket" and we make either cards or tags, or pages with pockets SO come and join us on Squigglefly  with an entry!
For my entry, I decided to make a Get Well card-I never have enough!  And my pocket has some Kleenex in it!  I also used 2 different images from Squigglefly *one is Daisies by one of our newest artists, Pammie Lehto, and *the other one is a cluster of butterflys (green, purple and yellow) in the upper right corner.  Those are from the True Friendship digital group by Cheryl Alger.  It almost makes me feel like it could be Allergy related LOL!

I hope this card inspired you to make a card to play along with us this week!  You are always welcome to play no matter what images you use, but to be eligible for the prise, please use at least one stamp from Squigglefly.  There are many freebies in the store!
