Winnie from Polkadoodles is on the Beach for One last time!

Many of us across the country are trying to get one last trip to the Beach, a vacation if you can find a place open, time with the Family.  Well, Winnie, from Polkadoodles Stamp and Papercrafting Co., wants to get some sun and rest before heading back to work or school!

I used Copics to color her image from the Polkadoodles Shop called Winnie Starfish/Sandcastle- Relaxing Sunlounger -What FUN! I used some of the copic florescent colors so it would show off her "tan".  Matted her on some "wavy" paper and then used some papers from the Digital Mermazing Ocean Papers that Polkadoodles also carries-see the fish in the blue paper? These are so easy to print out any time that you need them.  The cute sentiment is also digital and is from a collection of FREE phrases and sentiments offered on their website.  I attached an blue epoxy dot and edged it in turquoise up in the corner.  A little bit of satin ribbon from my stash and she's complete!  I finished the inside with some soft yellow paper, just waiting for a verse or greeting as the need dictates.

Thank you for taking a look at my fun beachy card-I had such a good time creating her!

Here Comes the Sun Summer Set --A New Release Party with Sherri Baldy

This adorable image is the Star of another one of   Sherri's New Release Summer SETS called "Here Comes the Sun" .
I Love being able to use various sentiments and accessory stamps that all go together-and you have that in Sherri's sets.
On this card, I used a series of papers that were all curves and swirls like the ocean and then some Beachy striped papers.  I decided to take advantage of the little cutie leaning to the right and make the card front follow the same curve.  You can see when I open the card and have it back-lit that the edge is inked for some definition.
Now you can see the impact of the paper's nautical feel with all the curves and angles.  These sentiments were ones that were on the double sided water paper as I didn't have access to the ones that came with the set.  But what a great idea this is of Sherri's--One Stop Shopping!

Hope you're enjoying this New Release Party!  Check out all the new goodies in the shop to get your card stash growing!

Clean and Simple CAS over at Crafting When We Can--Come Play with us!

Over at Crafting When We Can, the theme this week is CAS--Clean and Simple.  This has got to be the most challenging theme for me because I tend to pile it on a card.  But I must say I really found that I like that "freshness" of using the image that way!  This week over at CWWC, our sponsor is Doodle Digis and this image is 1 of 2 images on the stamp Bea & Tea.
After coloring her up with copics, I fancy cut her and glazed the sunglasses.  I scattered Kraftin' Kimmie's Sparkles in a deep blue and gorgeous turquoise across the page.  Then I put 1 strip of water waves paper across the paper.   On the inside, I used the whole wave paper and used  Happy Birthday stamp-I can always use those!
Come over and play in our Challenge and let us get inspiration from your beautiful projects!

Show us some New Techniques at Sweet Pea Stamps' ONE SWEET CHALLENGE!

For the month of August!!, we at One Sweet Challenge/Sweet Pea Stamps have chosen to "Educate" ourselves in homage of everyone getting ready to go back to school---We are  going to use a new technique or medium that is new to us in our creations this month.
I'm using the image Swan_n_Pond_Princess by Holly Durr, a fantastic artist from the Sweet Pea Shop.  What I'm learning in the last week or so is how to use Frantage, a texture embossing medium.  This image has waves and sea froth across the bottom of the swan and I chose to use the Aged Marine Embossing Enamel to create the same effect.  These enamels have a gorgeous mixtures of golds, multiple shades of deep blues, and I added some chunky white also.  Used the perfect stamp both inside and out for this Birthday card as well as complimentary buttons.  Please join us and show us YOUR new ideas-we love to Case your creations!

Melonheadz Sponsors Outlawz, SUMMER VACATION

This week as the Guest Designer at Outlawz, Monday Greetings Group, I'm using the cute summer digi image from Melonheadz.  They have such cute images and quite a variety.  The theme this week is SUMMER VACATION.  With the weekly Outlawz challenge, you just have to make sure that there is a greeting on the front of your card/project.  Simple!

I cut the front flap of the card in half and then fancy cut the surfing image so that it overhangs the flap.  I like how the wave is lifting her up!  On the inside of the card I tucked the plain surfboard into the inner edge so that it wouldn't cover up the neat reflecting water paper I was using.  I put a Hang Ten Text box over the Board before I printed it off.
It will have lots of summertime uses, birthdays, summer camp, missing you, thinking of yous...  Go check out the Monday greetings Group, there are some great ladies just waiting to get inspired from YOU!

It's Summer Fun Time over at Scrapbooker PhD-Hope to see you there!

At Scrapbooker PhD this month, we're being sponsored by Pink and Main~ Please check them out and see all the goodies they have.  The Theme is "Summer Fun" and we were allowed to use some of our own fun images!  One of my favorite artists is Cheryl Alger and this is one of her digitals!  I just love the feet just sticking out there in the water~  I used some neat wavy water paper and used some summer ribbon with sentiments I had in my stash.  Look closely, the "button" I used is actually a brad that I stuck through the ribbon!
I hope you'll join us in this monthly challenge and enter YOUR summer creation!  We'd sure love to see you there!

I'm ready for a SWIM with 2 CuteInk Digital Stamps

The temps are indicating that it's time for a SWIM around here-Such Humid days-Whew!  Well at 2 CuteInk, they have just the images to help you express the SEAson to your friends.
I'm using the image "Scuba Owl" from the
2 CuteInk Store and am using the phrase "Come and SEA me" on the front and a friendship verse on the inside.  Have some great
water paper-when used with the diamond stickles on the bubbles and on the verse, it makes you feel like the reflection of the water!  I hope you'll take a run through the store and catch some of the Father's Day images Heidi has available-Looks like a lot of fun!

Rainy Days go away! Puddle Bug wants to come out and play at 2 CuteInk!

Our theme at 2 CuteInk this week is ~Water~ so of course I thought of RAIN and one of Heidi's adorable images called Puddle Bug.  Doesn't she look so CUTE(ink) with her perky umbrella and boots?

I used some great paper from my stash that when you place it horizontally, it could be used for scenes with Pools BUT when placed vertically, what perfect paper for RAIN!  I used a scrap from a digital image from Fred she Said that was depicting a sidewalk-so so lucky to have that.  I've been really drawn to using these tear-drop crystals (from the wedding aisle in HL-by David Tutera) as rain drops-they are SO reflective!

On the inside,I used a grouping of flowers and dragonfly from Fred she Said also from my stash.  The sentiment comes from Doodle Pantry and the generalized statement could be used for many different things.  So you can see it took many different elements to pull this card together!
We've heard through a little birdie that hopefully very soon Heidi will be including a sentiment with her images, probably randomly, but how exciting!!  Then you will have a complete project with one purchase!

Be sure and show us your creations this week on our Challenge Blog!  We can't wait to see what you've done!

Easel Cards for the Scrapbook Place Blog Challenge

I get the biggest kick out of Easel cards-I don't know why I don't make them more often~they are so fun!  This image I am using is called "Cool Carl Pad" from Scribbles Design and they are sponsoring our challenge over at Your Scrapbook Place.  The theme of the contest is of course, easel cards.  I placed my design on a Scallop Circle Scored card blank from The Paper Cut-there are so many ways to use the card blanks that they carry in their store.  This great color is called basis Aqua. I folded the top scallop in half and mounted ole' fancy cut Carl on the bottom half.  I put Diamond Glaze on his sunglasses and the flowers.  The butterflies and leafy branches are from 2 friends on Your Scrapbook Place site.  Then for the "catch" when it gets folded, I used aqua dew drops and glued branches to 2 of them.  The sentiment is computer generated and the clouds are from a die cut that I have in my stash.
Check out the challenge-there's always neat prizes from great sponsors AND you have fun while competing!  Look forward to seeing you there.

Thank you DELICIOUS DOODLES For sponsoring Sketch #45 at Seems A Little Sketchy

I'm so excited to try a technique that I was seeing on Pinterest and several Scrapbooking Blogs for my Challenge #45 at Seems A Little Sketchy .  It's the process of leaving your B&W image in that format EXCEPT for a specific area that you draw attention to by coloring just that area.  This week, I had the option to use this great Boat scene and it worked perfectly with the circle!  I used my smaller circle die as a pattern around the image, penciling it in so I wouldn't color outside of the line.  It surely highlights the featured spot!  I just love this drawing from Delicious Doodles -they are just a generous sponsor for us at SALS!
I added some great water paper, a blue mat trim around the circle/image, some beige (frothy waves?) paper lace from my stash, light denim paper for the sky and a great red nautical fishtail banner with silver stars as a top accent.  Hope you enjoy and come play with us for the next two weeks.  DD has some great prizes for the winner!
