Snowflakes are Blowing at Color It Create It Show It Off w/ Sherri Baldy's Images

What a great way to start out the New Year than with a New Challenge at Color It Create It Show It Off!   We are using Sherri Baldy images and this one, that is perfect for any Winter Occasion, is called Img 911 and can be found here in the store.  Done in Pinks and Grays, I added my favorite "go-to" for snowflakes, White Chunky Frantage.  I then mounted her on some glittery ornament paper pack called Silver Bells by KaiserCraft (as is the blue silver foil background paper.  I wrapped the card front with some snowball fiber and added some clear dew drops.
On the inside liner, I kept it pretty simple, using a weathered wood look in soft blue.  Added a
Merry Christmas sentiment that was already pre-printed in the Kaisercraft pkt.  Wonderful to have all the accents you need in one place!

Great Christmas cards created with Sherri Ann Baldy imges! Purple & Lime love it!

One of my favorite Christmas card digital images this year was the one you see here from Sherri Baldy!  We know it as Scan 102 and she can be found HERE in Sherri's store, newly released.
I always have a love/hate relationship with the colors of purple but thought I'd tackle it for this card-because of the awesome paper I found that contained purple/lime, one of my favorite combinations.
After coloring with copics, and accenting all the beads, stars, and snowflakes with stickles and liquid pearls, I matted her with lime green and then wrapped the image with purple sheer chiffon ribbon.  I added a great sentiment stamp from KKS and a silver Tree charm with narrow bow.
The inside liner continues the color theme and a larger clear stamp from KKS.  I love how festive this card turned out!!

A Snowy Christmas Card from a Sherri Baldy Image-Have a wonderful Christmas!

This is a gorgeous image from Sherri Ann Baldy from her shop found here.  This little snowbird is Scan0098 and I love all the layers she has!  It's a perfect card to send a friend across the miles at this wonderful Christmas season.  I used a deep blue snowflake paper from Hot off the Press and then layered it with a gold glittered specialty paper with a pattern of flower buds and stems on it.  Helped to pick up the gold trim on her dress.
There's also 3 silver snowflake charms with blue embroidery floss bows on the side and a friendship sentiment near the bottom from KKS. On the inside I made 2 fishtail banners out of some accent papers and stamped a Christmas greeting on it.  Lots of room to add a special greeting of your own.  There are several Challenge locations to enter your Sherri Baldy creations so I hope we see yours soon!

A snowy Scene at Come and Get It with an image from Make It Crafty!

One of my favorite digital image sponsors is Make It Crafty and I have a chance to use 2 of their images on this card for Come and Get It!  First the adorable gal I used is called Jasmine Hot Chocolate-I love these aquas and purples!  AND it just worked out so perfect that I had previously purchased a background image from Make It Crafty that was set with a snowbank and frozen pond.
For this card, I perched her on the pond bank and additionally colored the background and added some frantage for snow falling.  I used a white diamond sparkly cardstock that seems to make the snow shimmer even more.  I love this design paper that has ice skates on it so that's the inside liner for the card and then I used a pre-printed sentiment that sent the message of Christmas.
The winner of the Make It Crafty portion of this challenge will get a $10 gift certificate for their store- oooh that is so great!  Come on over to Come and Get It and put your entry in our last Challenge for 2016!  We'd love to see your creations!

New release time at Sasayaki Glitter! I've got a Christmas card!

I'm on a roll with Christmas Cards 'cause it's coming up so quickly!!  The image that I'm working on is simply called Girl and Puppy from Sasayaki Glitter.  It's a great reminder that Sasayaki Glitter has a challenge currently running AND this is one of the new release images that she had available out there.
I used a 6x6 card blank and topped it with the festive country checked paper.  The image is colored with copics and I used White chunky Frantage embossed on the background for a snow effect.  I put an ivory paper lace piece along side of the matted image and added a "candy cane" grosgrain ribbon along the side.  On the inside, I used the reverse side of the same paper for a splash of color and a great sentiment for the Holidays.  Come see what other images you will be able to get at the Sasayaki Glitter Store!

Reminder: ATG Sherri Ann Baldy's Month long Challenge over at Color It, Create It, Show it Off

There are so many Christmas images in Sherri Ann Baldy's shop, and many have made it onto MY cards this year, that you will have trouble deciding which is your favorite!  I created this one for Color It, Create It, Show it Off  using  "Img 454" and it is perfect with her deer antlers headband!  I used some double-sided papers from my stash and then wrapped the pretty card in a rich red organza ribbon and attached a silver Christmas Tree charm.  I also used a beautiful holly leaf swirl die cut from a dear friend in New Zealand-what a treat!
When I looked at this image, I thought-black velvet dress so hopefully I achieved that look.  I felt like she would be dressy, going to a party or a Christmas Concert.  Some white flower soft sprinkled on the fur on her dress give some dimension.
On the inside liner, I used another  Graphic 45 paper-I think it was meant to be cut apart and used separately but I like the look of it all together.  A wonderful sentiment stamped for the inside from the great group KKS finishes it off.
As a reminder, there is still a Challenge here.  Our challenge runs from the 1st day of the Month and ends the end of the day on the 29th, and our winners are announced on the last day of the month. You can check the prizes out -the images are amazing.

Always Anything Goes at Craft Your Passion-ALL Dressed Up is our Great Sponsor!

Such a Festive Christmas Deer we have for this weeks' Challenge at Craft Your Passion!  It's Always Anything Goes and this image was provided for us to use by All Dressed Up.  Isn't it so perfect!
I colored it up with Copics, gave it a Christmas red mat, and then used my favorite "go to" snow-maker, White Chunky Frantage.  I used a great heavy holly paper and the reverse side, a distressed red, for the horizontal banner.  The sentiment is from a set from KKS- so love the script lettering.  A friend from New Zealand sent me the gorgeous holly die cut w/ swirls and I used some red Dew Drops as holly berries.
On the inside liner, I used the reverse distressed cardstock and again stamped the Holiday Greeting from KKS.  A perfect sentiment for the Holidays.  We hope to see your Christmas or Festive creations on this Challenge but anything you create will be wonderful!  Hope to see you soon!

The Theme is CHRISTMAS at Crafting When We Can, Sponsored by Sasayaki Glitter!

This cute image from Sasayaki Glitter is our featured image for this post from Crafting When We Can .  This talented designer is always so generous with her images and the compact design allowed me to make my first shaker card for a long while.  Our Theme for this challenge is "Christmas" and I'm sure that your craft room is as hectic as mine is-perfect time for getting your cards completed!
This image is called Snowman & Bird and is beautiful in it's simplicity.  Using a clear shaker form as a pattern I cut an opening in the front with my circle die, pushed through the shape, filled the cavity with clear bugle beads and seed beads and then mounted the image behind all that. I accented the card with the rich red plaid paper, sheer organza ribbon, paper poinsettia, and white pine die cuts.

On the inside liner I used a pattern paper that reminded me of snowballs and placed a cardstock print of JOY.  Please join us for a great Challenge at CWWC and hopefully you will win some free images as a prize!

New Release time at All Dressed UP! LOVE the Winter scenes!

I love Challenges, the actual opportunities in life that make us think outside the box and work our brain matter to new heights!  When I got the chance to use one of the new releases from All Dressed Up called Winter Must Haves, I'll admit I wondered what I could come up with to showcase these great seasonal images!  Then I reverted back to what I love to create-little scenes that tell a story.  I had this super winter scene background that came already colored.  What I wanted to indicate was that the clothes had gotten wet in the snow and as the guy on TV's Adventure show always says get out of your wet clothes cause you will freeze to death!  So I flung the mittens on a string over a branch, tacked up the wet sweater, got out of the skis, put the hat on the pole light to day, socks off and a cup of warm cocoa (don't ask me where that came from but it was fun to add in there).   I have a history of liking to paper piece so, I duplicated the background and fancy cut a few branches with snow on them feathered the edges and hung them around in several key areas.  In the inside, I found a a grayish blue snowflake scene and added a large Christmas stamp.Remember to pop over and buy them from our Etsy store and don't forget we have two challenges running right now -
Our Blog Challenge
ending on the eve of the 14th

and our Facebook Challenge
ending on the last day on the month.
The current theme is Sparkle

Visit us again on the 15th for the new Challenge launch and don't forget - if you want to see some more fabulous makes from our Super-talented Design Team using these new releases, Part 2 will be on the challenge site on the 22nd.

Using Polkadoodles Image for Wintertime Fun!

This is such an adorable image from Polkadoodles called Holly Bobs Sleigh time.
I absolutely loved coloring this up with copics.  The background I made reminded me of snowflakes falling or maybe even snowballs!  There's a heavy glitter paper in a deep blue that mats the image, then it's laid on a great snowflake paper.  I accented the card with a shiny silver charm-gotta have my bling!  On the inside liner, I used the snowflake paper again and then a Christmas Sentiment with  a snowflake sticker accent.  With all this talk about snow, it looks like we will have the first fall this weekend!  NOT looking forward to that for sure!
I'd like to enter this in the following challenge:

Making a Christmas Ornament from a Lemon Shortbread image-at the Come And Get It Challenge!

Tonights' Come And Get It entry is so unusual for me-instead of a card, our task was to create "anything but" a card.  With this being the Christmas season, I took this adorable image "Winter Fairy" from Lemon Shortbread and created an Ornament for our tree.
Because she was colored on cardstock with Copics, she was a little fragile to survive through the years.  So I fancy cut the original layer out and then mounted her to some heavier white pearlized cardstock and trimmed it out also.  Used some narrow baby blue satin ribbon, made a bow for the top of the hanger loop, and then stuck a sticky dot down to hold the ribbon ends and covered that with an oval of the same cardstock to "finish" it.  I used crystal Stickles on the bottom "slip" and also on her wings.
Be watching on the 18th for another creation-that one WILL be a card and then on to the New Year full of new challenges and images.  We can't wait to see you then!

A Christmas card with a Sweet image from Sherri Baldy!

I just Loved working on this digital image from Sherri Ann Baldy, #924 found in her store here.  It's so festive and perfect for the Christmas Season.  This is one of those dream cards that from the coloring and the papers and construction, the creative juices are just flowing and it's truly a joy to produce.
With this card, I wanted to use a design I often did years ago where you slip tags into pockets for messages or sentiments.  This image is matted in red velvet and shimmery gold cardstock and then onto some Holly print design paper.  I my mind the coloring on her dress reminds me of red velvet also so hope that comes across.  The background paper on the front is actually a Christmas song-perfect to use!  I added white flower soft and white chunky Frantage for the snow.
The tags I used were some that came on a 12x12 sheet all seasonal, with and without sentiments.  I put a brushed gold eyelet at the top and used some festive fibers for the pull tags.  Like a secret message for the recipient.
On the inside liner, I used the Holly paper again and a Stamped sentiment from KKS.
There are so many Challenges out there, especially for Sherri Baldy images, and some great Christmas ones also.
